5 Top-Rated Ski Resorts in Washington State, USA
No matter the time of year, the state of Washington is never lacking on fast-paced recreation. During the summer months, the mountains of Washington cater towards hiking, biking, and overnight camping, but come winter, skiing and snowboarding dominate the slopes. Whether you are just figuring out the pizza-pie stopping technique, or you prefer to shred in the backcountry through fresh powder, there are plenty of opportunities to carve your way down a mountain in Washington. While the best ski resorts in the state do vary with the type and amount of snow they receive, the common denominator between all ski resorts in Washington is the refreshing feeling of stepping off the chairlift into a winter wonderland. Here five best ski resorts in Washington State, US State
1. Mt. Baker Ski Area
2. The Summit at Snoqualmie
3. Crystal Mountain Resort
4. Stevens Pass Resort

Snowboarding in Washington State
Snow Season 2015-2016 in Washington state, featuring footage from Steven's Pass, Crystal Mountain and Mount Baker Ski Area.
As home to a mountain that claims the most snowfall of any mountain in the United States, Washington is a world-class ski and snowboard destination. Often overlooked to Colorado or Utah because of it's distant location, Washington has some serious snow that simply can't be beat. The fantastic snow season this year means there is no reason not to get out to the slopes and find some fresh powderand it's not too late! Washington state has plenty of places to ride the lift, but here's the low down on my top three: Mount Baker Ski Area, Crystal Mountain Resort, and Steven's Pass.

Source Lake - Snow Lake Snowshoe | Washington State
Winter can be fantastic time to explore the back-country area near Alpental, next to Snoqualmie Pass.
The winter route to Source Lake on the south side of the valley is usually rather well defined and easily traversal by snowshoes or skis. From Source Lake, you can continue on to the top of the ridge overlooking Snow Lake, and just below Chair Peak. At about 3 miles, you'll find the slope tapers off as you enter a broad, tree-dotted meadow atop a broad saddle between Chair Peak and Snoqualmie Mountain. Stop and catch your breath here as enjoy the spectacular mountain vistas. Some of the route crosses avalanche hazard zones, so be sure to pay attention to the avalanche hazard rating for the day you plan to travel, and be properly equipped.
