Zanskar, Classic Multi-Activity by Aquaterra
Our special feature drives through most of western Ladakh, monasteries, palaces, villages, hikes and travel to one of the most surreal places on the planet. The trip begins with a flight into Srinagar in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. We spend the night in a houseboat, before heading east to Kargil before turning south into the valley of Zanskar, one of the coldest inhabited places on earth. Starting the trip on the Stod river, we begin our self contained multi-day river adventure down the spectacular and scenic Zanskar river gorge. The trip takes you down the extremely desolate, remote and sheer Zanskar gorge with walls rising a few thousand feet out of the river bed, culminating on the mighty Indus river, (which incidentally lends India its name). We finish with spending a couple of days in Leh town acclimatizing at 11,000 feet above sea level and visiting the ancient monasteries, palaces and villages around Leh. Undoubtedly a classic, this journey to the last truly lost horizon of our shrinking planet - Zanskar, the land of white copper” is a trip of a lifetime.

Aquaterra Challenge 2015
We set up the Aqua Terra Challenge after the deluge (June 2013) in Uttarakhand ravaged all its valley systems, and mountain paranoia settled in. Seasons across the Himalaya vanished overnight, and remained so for the next 8 months.
India’s first destination adventure race was born, we needed some brave folk to return to the mountains to spread the word that it is OK to be walking the hills again.
And Here’s Why Could Consider This ::
1. Its absolutely unique. There is no adventure weekend like this in the country!
2. Its a destination adventure race. You hike, bike and paddle. How many folks do you know who do that?
3. Its the valley of the Gods, and you’re on the old pilgrims trail to Badrinath in the main Upper Ganga valley. Yes, you can feel privileged.
4. Its not a run-of-the-mill holiday. You will feel good about yourself, that's a guarantee. Bragging rights like none before.
5. Its not all about race. Don’t compete, complete is good enough. And yes, if you want to race, break a leg (we have a fantastic plaque i you win)!
6. Make new friends, meet new people, learn new skills!
7. Our 2-person and 4-person categories help you make teams easier.
8. A top notch team makes this safe, we look out for you like no one else will.
Carpe Diem! We hope to see you at the race!!

The Last Shangri La Arunachal Pradesh
Exciting, true life expedition journeys into India's tribal north -- east and down one of the worlds greatest rivers. The Tsang Po, after flowing gently eastwards through Tibet, cuts the Greater Himalaya and the highest unclimbed mountain in the world, Namche Barwa before it enters Arunachal Pradesh, where it is called the Chiang, Siang, and the Dihang as it descends the final 200 kms to the plains of India. Our expedition begins a few miles inside the line-of-control with China. Your journey begins with a ferry boat ride at Dibrugarh on the mighty Brahmaputra, and up the densely forested river valley from the plains of Pasighat to our starting point. We travel through remote hillsides dotted with tribal settlements in clearings surrounded by dense rainforest with many species of ferns, palms and orchids. Bamboo and cane bridges built by the local tribes ; and village visits add to the exciting experience.
