Big Bear Lake is a reservoir in the San Bernardino Mountains, in San Bernardino County, California, United States. At a surface elevation of 6,750 ft (2,060 m), it has an east-west length of approximately 7 mi (11 km) and is approximately 2.5 mi (4.0 km) at its widest measurement, though the lake's width mostly averages a little more than 1 mi (1.6 km). These approximations are based on the lake having an optimum retainable water level. At dam's end Big Bear measures its deepest water at 72 ft (22 m). It is a completely snow-fed lake, having no other means of tributary or mechanical replenishment.
Located 100 miles (160 km) east of Los Angeles and surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest, Big Bear Lake is accessible via four scenic highways: Highway 330 from Highland, Highway 38 from Redlands, Highway 138 from Victorville, and Highway 18 from San Bernardino.
Big Bear Lake is geophysically defined by its North Shore and its South Shore. Big Bear Boulevard follows the South Shore and leads into the Big Bear Valley as a continuation of Highway 18 (the so-called Rim of the World Highway, which approaches from the west). Big Bear Boulevard winds east through Papoose Bay, Boulder Bay and Metcalf Bay, then leads directly east to the city of Big Bear Lake. At a point called The Village, the road turns toward the lake and then curves eastward to Moonridge, the ski resorts at Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, and Stanfield Cutoff, a causeway located near the east end of the lake. Big Bear Boulevard then continues east into Big Bear City, which is an unincorporated community despite its name. Bear Creek and Siberia Creek flow into the lake and Bear Creek flows out of the lake, traveling about 9 miles (14 km) southwest to the Santa Ana River.
North Shore (Highway 38) begins at the Dam Junction of Highway 18. It travels east past the historic location of Gray's Landing, a famous 1920s fishing camp. It turns north around Grout Bay and travels through the small unincorporated town of Fawnskin. The road meanders across North Shore through Forestry lands, past the Big Bear Solar Observatory, past the Big Bear Discovery Center, past the Serrano Campground (U.S.F.S), accessing the public boat launch, and Stanfield Cutoff. North Shore Drive continues east into Big Bear City and Baldwin Lake.
The primary approach to Big Bear is via Highway 330 out of San Bernardino through Running Springs where it intersects Highway 18. Highway 18 proceeds past Arrowbear and Snow Valley, over 7,200 ft (2,190 m) Lake Vista Summit and across the 15 mi (24 km) Arctic Circle for a total distance of 33 mi (53 km). Big Bear Lake can also be accessed by Hwy 38 (referred to as 'The Backside') at the San Bernardino (10) Freeway near Redlands, and takes a 52 mi (84 km) mile route that passes through Big Bear City on the east. From north of Lucerne Valley, it can be accessed by Highway 18 over the pass into Baldwin Lake and through the north side, into Big Bear City.
Serrano Campground, California Campsite Photos
Serrano Campground is located at the 6,900 foot elevation and features 132 camping sites that can be used by tents, RV's, pop-up campers, pickup trucks with camper shells, vans, etc. The campground, located within sight of and across the road from Big Bear Lake, is composed of four loops Summer Wind, Snowberry, Evening Star, and Lake View. RVer's should note that there are 29 campsites which offer electrical (30 amp), water and sewer hookups. There is an RV dump station. All sites are paved. Some sites are wheelchair-accessible. Popular activities include boating and fishing on Big Bear Lake, driving the Gold Fever Trail, and hiking or mountain biking area trails.

CSUN Solar Observatory
California State University, Northridge has a new eye on the sky, and it’s zeroed in on the sun.
The university celebrated the opening and dedication of its solar observatory in a ceremony March 15 on campus. More than 100 CSUN leaders, students, faculty members, philanthropists and members of the community gathered to herald the move of the San Fernando Observatory to its new home in the orange grove at the southeast end of campus.
One of only a dozen in the United States, the solar observatory was gifted to the university in the 1970s by the Aerospace Corporation and placed on the Metropolitan Water District’s property in the northern San Fernando Valley. The observatory’s move to CSUN’s main campus will provide more opportunities for students to participate in hands-on research and apply the skills they learn in the classroom, said Say-Peng Lim, chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy.

Leah and I are two humans who no longer support the inhuman, oligarchic empire model destroying our planet and our true nature as human beings. As activists we decided to do something about it, so we opted out of our former lives to begin anew. We are currently transforming pristine alpine wilderness into a self-sustaining homestead and organic farm in preparation for the upcoming collapse. We plan on developing and executing every single step of the process in open source format for the benefit of all humanity. With our backgrounds in academia and the sciences (climatology, geology, physics, biology, chemistry, and more) we hope to uncover the lies perpetrated by the mass media. It will be presented here and on our website in a systematic and thorough process. On 25th February 2014 Sun produced X4.9 flare which on 27th February caused G2 (KP 6) geomagnetic storm on Earth. It was the brightest aurora display so far during this solar maximum which I could witness with auroral displays overhead in the far north of Scotland. This short movie illustrates what has been seen from latitude 58.3 degrees north.

Climbing the Mount Sterling fire tower in the Great Smoky Mountains
From Wikipedia: Mount Sterling is a mountain in the Great Smoky Mountains of Haywood County, North Carolina, located in the southeastern United States. It reaches an elevation of 5,842 feet (1,781 m) above sea level.[1] The summit is topped by an abandoned fire tower that gives stunning views of other nearby peaks.[2]
Mount Sterling crowns Mount Sterling Ridge, a 7-mile (11 km) ridge that gradually descends northward from the flanks of Big Cataloochee Mountain (on the Balsam Mountain crest) to the Pigeon River Valley. The ridge divides the Cataloochee area to the east from the Big Creek Valley (which represents the fringe of the Cosby area) to the west. The community of Waterville, North Carolina is located in the Pigeon Valley at the ridge's northern extreme. Geologically, Mount Sterling consists mainly of Precambrian metamorphic sandstone of the Ocoee Supergroup, formed nearly a billion years ago from ancient ocean sediments.[3] The summit of Mount Sterling is surrounded by a stand of Southern Appalachian spruce-fir forest.
Van life Death Valley National Park California
Our vanlife trip from Last Vegas to Los Angeles brought us through an area with reported Alien activity (truth or myth?) and the famous military base Area 51. After a quick stop we decided to drive on to the small town of Beatty, Nevada where we found food, free wifi, bathrooms and free overnight parking at a Casino. Instead of gambling we just had dinner and completed some computer work before retiring in our van for a restful night in the parking lot.
This was a great overnight spot because we wanted to get into Death Valley National Park for sunrise the next day and it's only a short drive from Beatty to Death Valley's East entrance.
We arrived just in time to watch the sun rise over the beautiful Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes and hiked through this breath-taking desert. Two hours into our sand dunes hike the wind picked up and it felt very eerie to walk the sand dunes with the high winds, the sand felt like needles in our faces.
From there we drove through the rest of Death Valley and explored the ever changing landscape of different areas and hiking trails within the park before making our way towards Los Angeles.

Living Universe | Journey To Another Stars - Documentary 4K
The Earth is Not Alone:
LIVING UNIVERSE is an interstellar adventure that seeks to answer the most profound question of all: are we alone? Based on the latest scientific knowledge, we will take a journey to a planet beyond our solar system in search of life.
We ask the world's leading space scientists what we might find if we travel to a neighboring star system. Recent breakthroughs have proven that every star we see in the sky is orbited by at least one planet, many similar to our own Earth. How do we get to these exoplanets? Once there, what will we find? And what will it mean for humanity when we discover we are not alone?
Our speculative journey through space is set a hundred years in the future - when we have the technology to journey well beyond our solar system. On this first expedition, our star ship Aurora will be piloted not by astronauts, but by the artificial intelligence (A.I.) we call Artemis. We imagine how Artemis travels through space, on its 25-year journey, at one fifth of the speed of light. Its objective is Minerva B, a planet much like our own, with an atmosphere, temperature and liquid water that appears a likely candidate to contain life.
With spectacular special effects we will reach and explore a new planet as we seek to answer the most profound question of all: are we alone in the universe? Our guides on this journey are narrator Dr Karl Kruszelnicki and as the voice of our AI, Artemis, real-life astrophysicist, Professor Tamara Davis.
Inspired and informed by our rapidly developing knowledge of far-off worlds, our best scientists - including NASA engineers, astrophysicists and astronomers - we will discover that this amazing journey is not only possible, it is inevitable. To venture into distant space is our destiny.
LIVING UNIVERSE captures a pivotal moment in the human story. A film full of insight and inspiration certain to thrill anyone who dreams of distant worlds, or have ever wondered why are we here?
Have you ever wondered that someone like you, sitting less than a mile away, in some other universe, exists? The possibility in itself seems frightening as well as astonishing.
From breaking news and intriguing historical documentaries to conspiracy theories, classified NASA files and UFO's. We provide you with material that the government doesn't want you to see. The Insomnia team comes up with a promise. To keep up with the same, the team now brings to us a documentary that aims to change your perspective Of another existence, of another possibility, as today, the scientists now believe there may really be the presence of a parallel universe - and in fact, also believe that there may be an infinite number of parallel universes, and where we live today just happens to be only one of them and many of these other parallel universes come with different laws of physics as well.
These other universes that we are talking about not only contain space, time and strange forms of exotic matter but to surprise you, Some of them may even contain you, only maybe in a slightly different form. The thought itself is quite intriguing and scary on the same hand. The basis of this theory is as we know it the idea that parallel universes are constantly spinning off from reality that we humans know of. Though generally ignored at the time, that theory has gone on to become not just a popular topic of study among respected physicists, but the inspiration for such popular films, television shows, and books as Star Trek and The Golden Compass. according to the sources.
The video soon progresses into the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP), that is now changing everything, as some say that the remarkable images reveal the true shape of the universe through baby pictures of the same from the time when it was 4 hundred thousand years old, looking so back in time, when there wasn't even the formation of galaxies yet. The WMAP is catching the very first signs of creation as it is officially tagged with measuring radiation that is left over from Big Bang. And now scientists have devised an experiment to find the overall true shape of the universe. The WMAP hence shows that the universe is flat. From here arises the possibility of more mind boggling parallel universe that are of the level-2 type and is made up of giant cosmic soap bubbles that float in hyperspace. Each of these bubbles within it has a whole universe. Now, the question that arises is that - Do we all live in a giant cosmic bubble?
