Sanur to Nusa Lembongan | Beaches and Devil's Tear | Bali Part 5
Bali offers a ton of day trips and outings so this weekend we made our way to the well known Nusa Islands. The trio of Nusa Penida, Lembongan, and Cenningan are only a 30-minute speed boat from Sanur pier, with Nusa Penida being the most famous of the 3, we started our weekend on Nusa Lembongan.
We drove half an hour from our Airbnb located slightly south of Canggu (check out our Airbnb tour here) to Sanur Pier to start with a sunrise. We bought our ticket transfer to Nusa Lembongan at the pier and began our exploration of the Islands with some beach time and ended the day with a sunset at Devil's Tear.
Pricing, hotel tour, beach recommendations and some epic views at Devil's Tear. Feel free to use this as a guide for getting to Lembongan and some ideas on what to do for the day!

Singles in Paradise visits Lembongan Island
70 of us from Singles in Paradise had a great day on tour with our visit to Lembongan Island in Bali. Check out the great surfing and live music while we swim in the pool overlooking the bay. Sure was a fun day.
Living in Paradise - Nusa Lembongan Bali trip
Nusa Lembongan is a small island and still part of Bali.
From Sanur, take fast ferry to go straight to Lembongan. It cost IDR 75.000 for one way trip. There's many tour you can find in Sanur that offer the package for your trip, including the ferry tickets, accommodation, and itinerary in Lembongan.
But i would say that it is more fun to backpacker-ing in Lembongan. You can explore the island as you like, because the island is quite small and the locals are really friendly so you can ask for location if you lost on track. And they provide motorbike for rent. it cost around IDR 70.000 - 80.000 per day, and of course you can ask for discount if you rent the bike for quite long time. They also have bicycles for rent. its IDR 35.000 /bike. but i got IDR 50.000 for 2 bikes.
And there's a lot of choises for the hotel, villa, or guesthouse. The price are variative, around IDR 200.000 - 1.000.000 ++ / night.
Lembongan has many beautiful places you must to visit.
so here is my itinerary..
DAY 1
-from Sanur to Lembongan takes 30mins by D'Camel fast ferry
-arrived at D'Camel Hotel and they already got me the motorbike
-having lunch Sandy Bay Bar and restaurant , the view was sooooo beautiful
-going to Devil's Tears. its a water blowing against the cliff and its such a amazing view to see
-Yellow Bridge. Its a bridge with that eye catching color connects the 2 island, Nusa lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. in Nusa Ceningan, there is a beach club and cottage named Le Pirate, but sadly i didnt get to visit there
-Wandering around the island and enjoy the view
-Pulled over in front of Panorama Rest and take time to appreciate the view of the Paradise
-Mangrove Tour. Get the experience to see the mangrove forest by the canoe and take bunch of great pictures. It cost IDR 100.000++ / canoe
-rent a bike!
-cycling to Mahagiri beach and watch the sunset
-Dinner at Mickey Bar and restaurant and enjoy the Live Music every sunday night
DAY 2
-breakfast
-going to do Water Sport (snorkeling, banana boat, sea walker, jetski, etc) by Equatore. Cost IDR 350.000 /pax and it was super fun!! got to see the beautiful reefs and small fishes while giving them bread to eat
-spent time at Lembongan Beach Club and had lunch while waiting for our time to return
You should travel to Lembongan as well because it is definitely a trip to die for!
its such a memorable trip for me, even though i'm living in Bali.
Seeing the clear sky, swimming in the clean water, enjoying the breeze with my salty hair and feeling the ambience there makes me really don't want to leave.
Hope you enjoy the video.

Snorkeling Batu Balong in Komodo, Indonesia + Swimming With Manta Rays
Batu Balong is known for some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the world. It definitely did not disappoint the second we jumped in this Komodo Indonesia water it felt like you were snorkeling in an aquarium. Deborah also finally got to check off swimming with Manta Rays off of her bucket list.
Snorkeling in Komodo, Indonesia has been nonstop beauty. Batu Balong is definitely the crown jewel of underwater exploration in Komodo National Park. Batu balong is known as one of the top 10 places to Scuba Dive and Snorkel in the world. Trust us on this it definitely lived up to the snorkeling hype! The amount of marine life in this water was incredible. There were fish everywhere, sleeping sea turtles, rays, eels, you name it and we saw some sort of beautiful ocean life. If you ever have the chance you absolutely must snorkel in Batu Balong. One of the craziest parts about Batu Balong that you can't see from our videos is the crazy currents and danger surrounding the area. Batu Balong itself is super safe to swim in but you must be aware of the currents. The water surrounding Batu Balong is incredible fast moving in many directions which creates a sort of like rip tide that could pull you out to sea. This whole area of water has tons of crazy currents and unpredictable water which means you must be on alert while snorkeling!
One of the things Deborah was most excited for on this trip was to swim with Manta Rays and they absolutely lived up to her expectations. Swimming with these gentle giants was an experience I don't think either of us will ever forget. I could not get over how big the manta rays were. Their mouths were so big that I think a few of the larger ones could have fit Michael shoulders and all inside their mouths! I had know idea that manta rays get that big! Seeing the Manta Rays was challenging though as they like to swim through a very fast current so that they can feed. This makes it challenging to see them for very long as they sort of fly right by you as they continue to feed. At one point Michael thought he was going to run into one of these beautiful rays!
Last on our agenda was Pink Beach for a nice relaxing rest. Pink Beach gets it's name because Foraminifera a microscopic animal which produces a red pigment on coral reefs. When the red fragments created by Foraminifera combine with the white sand it produces a soft pink color which is where the beach gets it's name.

THE HIDDEN PARADISE IN BALI! LAST DAY IN AMED [VLOG #11]
Dear Happiness Crossing Family! :-)
We spent our 2nd day here in Amed, Bali... The HIDDEN GEM in Bali in our Opinion.
As small town popular for good diving spots, but honestly... We had one of the best days here in Amed.
Cheap & good Restaurants + Accomodations, amazing turquiose blue water, Live-Raggae Bars.. What could you possible need more? :-)
We showed you around on our 2nd day while we snorkelled in 2 different spots.
In Amed you can easily rent your own Snorkeling Kit + Scooter, drive around Snorkeling Spots & stay as long as you want.
We went to the Japanese Shipwrack and Lipah Beach.
- Very little is known about the wreck and how it ended up sank at Banyuning, or even if it really was a Japanese ship…
In fact the only information we could find about its heritage is that the nearly intact Asian style toilet found on the wreck made somebody in the past think that the ship must have been from Japan.
- At Lipah Beach you will be able to see TURTLES, how cool is that?! We were WAY too excited for that and HAD to go there.
We payed for the snorkeling kit 80k IDR = 7,40 USD for 2 Kits, that allowed us to take it with us & go to different snorkeling spots.
We hope you enjoyed this video & if you did please make sure to SUBSCRIBE to our channel, that would help us A LOT and allow us to create more videos like that.
With love, Vanessa & Fernando. :-)

Blue Season Bali - Project Aware - Dive Against Debris - How We Make a Difference!
It was so nice having Sarah Gauthier for a week with us, so we asked her to join us for a clean up dive.
.
There’s a reason why we take pride in running clean up dives at Jetty regularly. Not only do we get the feel-good high for doing our bit, but it also allows the site to return to its natural state — beautiful and thriving free from trash and ghost fishing gear.
.
Thanks for Sarah Gauthier and Sam Joshua Norton making it happen and the Divemaster interns for their hard work!

Diving in Bali (720p)
Scuba diving in Bali. This DVD is available at
Diving in Bali is a document of an extraordinary expedition I made to Indonesia's magical island of Bali in 2006 with Aquamarine Diving,
From Tulamben's awesome USAT Liberty wreck, to the reef manta rays of Nusa Penida, via the fascinating macro marine life of Tulamben and Seraya Secrets, the footage covers the breadth of Bali's fascinating underwater world.
The video features 158 species of marine life, and their common and scientific names are available by turning on the captions with the CC button under the video. Viewers can now contribute subtitles for the marine life names in this video in many languages. Find out more at
From Tulamben there is footage of the wreck of the USAT Liberty in both day time and night time, including the humphead parrotfish that spend the night there. Also from Tulamben are numerous marine live encounters from dives at the Drop-Off and the Coral Garden.
Just around the corner we make a dive at Seraya Secrets, a macro hotspot where I encountered seahorses and nudibranchs.
From Padangbai on the east coast of Bali we have footage from The Blue Lagoon and Pura Jepun.
From the island of Nusa Penida we have the manta ray cleaning station, Manta Point, and Ped.
Full list of dive sites featured in this video:
1. USAT Liberty Shipwreck, Tulamben
The USAT Liberty was torpedoed by the Japanese off Lombok and beached at Tulamben in Bali. In 1963 the last eruption of Mount Agung caused the wreck to slide deeper into the sea where she lies today. The USAT Liberty shipwreck makes an excellent dive site. This video features the towering stern, the coral-encrusted gun on the bow, green humphead parrotfish (Bolbometopon muricatum), a Pacific hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata bissa), garden eels, sweetlips and lots of other interesting marine life from the wreck and its surroundings.
The USAT Liberty also makes a fantastic night dive. Green humphead parrotfish sleep in the protection of the wreck. Other highlights include a Spanish dancer and a bluespotted ribbontail ray.
2. Coral Garden, Tulamben
The Coral Garden at Tulamben lies conveniently right off the middle of the beach. Skunk cleaner shrimps tend to moray eels and groupers at a cleaning station based around a barrel sponge. Also featuring a ribbon eel, ghost pipefish, leaf scorpionfish and trevallies schooling in the shallows.
3. Tulamben Drop-Off
Video from the Drop-Off at Tulamben, Bali, featuring a spectacular giant purple knotted sea fan, nudibranchs, a ghost pipefish and a seahorse. Before and after exploring the Drop-Off we spend time in the shallows where we meet Tulamben's famous schools of trevallies.
By night the drop-off at Tulamben provides plenty of treats for the visiting diver. This video includes a squat lobster, a cone shell, a dwarf cuttlefish, a hermit crab and various pretty reef fish.
4. Seraya Secrets
Seraya Secrets, nearby to Tulamben, is an exellent muck dive known for weird and wonderful critters. Here we encounter some batfish around the artificial reef project in the shallows. A little deeper we find 2 thorny seahorses, catfish, an anemone crab and nudibranchs.
5. Blue Lagoon, Padangbai
The Padangbai area on the east coast of Bali provides some fantastic diving. Just north of Padangbai lies the Blue Lagoon. This footage comes from my first ever dive in Indonesia with a video camera and features leaf scorpionfish, cuttelfish, anemonefish, lionfish, shrimps, catfish, nudibranchs, moorish idols and a goby.
6. Pura Jepun, Padangbai
Pura Jepun also lies just north of Padangbai and is home to some fantastic marine life. This video features clownish, sweetlips, angelfish, a peacock mantis shrimp, a stingray, a panther grouper, a wart slug, ribbon eels, a scorpionfish and a flying gurnard.
7. Manta Point, Nusa Penida
On the north-east side of Nusa Penida lies a cleaning station for reef manta rays (Manta alfredi) known as Manta Point. On 23rd May 2006 we had the pleasure of diving with these graceful giants.
8. PED, Nusa Penida
Ped is sloping reef on the north coast of Nusa Penida. Here we encounter a variety of tropical reef fishes including angelfish, triggerfish, anemonefish and scorpionfish, as well as a rhizostome jellyfish.

BALI, INDONESIA - Snorkeling at NUSA PENIDA Island
#Bali #Indonesia #NusaPenida #snorkeling #CrystalBay
One of our goals while in Bali was to go snorkeling and/or diving. The day we decided to go, the seas were too rough for beginner’s SCUBA dives, so we all went snorkeling instead.
We took a shuttle ride to the Sanur Harbor and picked up our tickets. The ride consists of a large, fast boat to take approximately 100 persons to Nusa Penida Island. After the one-hour boat ride, we would break up into smaller groups and take the various tours that were available.
We ended up on a smaller boat with around 15 passengers and we were on our way to the first snorkeling spot.
Manta Ray Bay
Our snorkeling trip consisted of four stopping points including Manta Ray Bay and Crystal Bay. Our first stop was Manta Ray Bay and the seas were incredibly rough there. Everyone put on their snorkeling gear and dropped into the water one-by-one. Life Jackets were optional; but encouraged. I went about 15 minutes without one and then swam back to the boat to get one. Our son went through all four stops without a life jacket and he did just fine.
Even though the seas were rough we all go to see at least six very large manta rays swimming below us. They gracefully swam through the water ignoring all of the swimmers. Unfortunately, because of the rough waters I did not take either of my waterproof cameras with me!
Crystal Bay
Our second stop, Crystal Bay was the best one for snorkeling. The bay was much more protected from the rough seas and was relatively calm. Coral and colorful fish abounded in the area. I was able to get some good video and photographs at this stop.
Last Two Stops
The third stop was another relatively calm bay, but there were not as many fish in the area. The last stop was at the Island’s Harbor not far from where we first docked. There were some very large fish in the area, but once we dropped into the water, they had all swam away from us. This location also had very strong currents and our boat had to move quite far to pick us up.
Conclusion
Overall the snorkeling expedition to Nusa Penida Island was a good experience. If I go back though, I would do a private snorkeling boat trip with no predetermined stops or time limits. We spent too much time at some spots and not enough time at the better ones because we had a large number of passengers and had preset time limits at the various spots.
We will see YOU on the next adventure!
