Florida Wilderness - A Trail Walk {Boca Ciega Millennium Park}
A short walk on a trail in Boca Ciega Millennium Park. I was at the park for my nephew Isaiah 2nd birthday party. While all the kids were playing, I went walking into the wood on one of the many different trails they have there. This is only a very very small portion of what this park has to offer wilderness trail wise.
I hope to make more trips out there soon. It's a little bit of a drive from my house, but worth it. For all of my political views you will notice I put Lavoy's brand on the sidewalk with sidewalk chalk. lol
FYI chalking a sidewalk in front of a government building or police station, is a good way to get a message seen by the right people. It is something that is not against the law and is not considered vandalism.
Anyways I hope you enjoy the film. I had all kind of trouble with the audio while editing this video. I might need to get a new video editing app.

St. Petersburg is a city on Florida's gulf coast, part of the Tampa Bay area. It's known for its pleasant weather (hence its “Sunshine City” nickname), making it popular for golfing, boating, fishing and beachgoing. Its waterfront parks host the Dali Museum, featuring surrealist works of art; the Museum of Fine Arts, with works ranging from ancient to contemporary; and Mahaffey Theater, home of the Florida Orchestra.
Saint Petersburg is located at the base of the Tampa Bay peninsula in Pinellas County, Florida, and enjoys a more subdued social atmosphere than its larger cousin, Tampa. The city has tried to characterize the downtown as an arts and entertainments destination and you will find no shortage of arts and crafts stores, galleries, and museums along with cafes and boutique food shops all within a couple blocks of the Tampa Bay waterfront. With water on three sides of the city, St. Pete is a superb location for fishing, sailing, and wandering beaches.
Saint Petersburg was founded by John C. Williams from Detroit, Michigan, who purchased the land in 1876. The town began with the help of Peter Demens, who was instrumental in bringing a railroad connection there in 1888. Saint Petersburg was named after the Saint Petersburg in Russia, the birthplace of Peter Demens. A local legend says that John C. Williams and Peter Demens flipped a coin to see who would have the honor of naming the city. Peter Demens won and named the city after his birthplace, while John C. Williams named the first hotel after his birthplace, Detroit. The Detroit Hotel still exists downtown, but it was converted into condos in 2002.
The city publishes the free Downtown St.Petersburg Guide & Map booklet, updated each season, that contains maps, trolley routes, and listings for hundreds of museums, events, restaurants, & hotels along with coupons. You can find the guide in dispensers throughout downtown and in many businesses.
Long known as little more than a bawdy spring-break party town and a retirement capital, St Petersburg is now forging a new name for itself as a culturally savvy southern city. Spurred on by awe-inspiring downtown murals, a revitalized historic district and the stunning Dalí Museum, the downtown energy is creeping up Central Ave, spawning sophisticated restaurants, craft breweries, farmers markets and artsy galleries, all of which are attracting a younger professional crowd and a new wave of culturally curious travelers.

Wild Life Sculpture Search
This video chronicles a contemporary metamorphosis. It takes place in the hauntingly beautiful Boca Ciega Millennium Park in Seminole, Florida; and is the result of sculptor Leslie Fry's creation of intriguing sculptures which not only blend into the natural surround, but transform over time. The beauty of the sculptures reinforces the reality of the fragile natural habitat and provides an insight into the experience of closeness to nature, and of the mutability that underlies all things.
This public art project was sponsored by Pinellas County Cultural Affairs and includes six sculpture installations. A book and video were created to document the evolution of change, giving the project an afterlife.
The imagery and placement of the sculptures are designed to raise awareness about how humans impact the natural environment, said Fry. The sculptures represent imaginary beings that reflect and integrate two worlds -- the constructed world that humans live in, and the natural world inhabited by the flora and fauna of the park.
