Black Magic Potions and Spells That You Should Probably Not Cast
The first 1,000 people to sign up to Skillshare will get their first 2 months for free:
Ok, this one is a bit silly. But, if you were to cast black magic potions and spells, these are some things you could do!
For thousands of years, mankind's only source of healthcare was the local witch doctor, druid, shaman, or spirit healer, yet while modern medicine has long done away with these traditions, many of today's medicines and treatments have their roots in what was once considered magic. Druids and witches in ancient Europe, for example, were renowned for their use of various plants, herbs, and fungi to treat injuries, and modern science has discovered strong antibiotic properties in many of these ingredients.
But what about the darker side of magic? That’s what we’ll explore today, in this episode of The Infographics Show, Black magic potions and spells.

15 Biggest Fish Ever Caught
What was the biggest freshwater fish ever caught with a line and rod? … Chances are it was this critter. In 2015, a TV personality managed to create an exciting episode when he reeled in a stingray that measured 14 feet long, 8 feet wide ... and weighed some 800 pounds! Jeff Corwin, a TV nature conservationist from the US, caught the huge flat fish on the Mae Klong (may klong) River in Thailand. Corwin said it took several hours, with many of the crew rotating on and off the reel. Analysis showed that the creature was female and pregnant, which helped account for its great size and weight. The catch was later featured on Crowin’s show about ocean mysteries that was broadcast on US television. The Mae Klong River seems to produce a number of large fish … A huge stingray weighing more than 750 pounds was caught there in 2009.
#7 Crazy Kayak Catch
An angler named Joel Abrahamsson managed to reel in a greenland shark more than 13 feet long … from a kayak! It happened in 2014 off the coast of Norway. The fisherman said he bulked up for the struggle by practicing at a local lake by reeling in concrete blocks that weighed some 60 pounds each. He needed that training, because he struggled with the greenland shark for around an hour and a half … as he was strapped into a harness that was attached to his fishing rod in the vessel. After finally capturing the beast, its weight was calculated by researchers at 1,247 pounds that was nearly three times the weight of the old record. But here’s the thing … while it is a world record, it’s considered to be an unofficial one … since the animal’s weight was never recorded on a certified scale. That was actually a conscious decision by Abrahamsson and his crew. Greenland sharks are protected from commercial fishing, and such a procedure might have killed the animal. The shark was later released unharmed back to the freezing waters.
#6 Controversial Catch
Joe Waldis is a pensioner who landed a bluntnose sixgill shark that measured over 12 feet long and weighed 1,056 pounds … making it the largest fish ever caught in the British Isles using rod and line. Its size made it too big to haul into his boat in the waters of South-West Ireland … so Mr Waldis had the shark towed to an estuary (ess-choo-wary). From there it was carried by a forklift where it was weighed at a local quarry. The record catch engendered some controversy, though. The animal had to be killed before it was taken ashore, which was deemed necessary in order to officially verify the record. And that prompted many conservationists in the local fishing community to argue the creature should have been kept alive and released back to the sea. What do you think?

This Is Why Costco Only Charges $5 For A Rotisserie Chicken
If you're the observant sort of shopper who wants to get the most out of every dime, it's possible you've noticed that Costco's fully cooked, 3-pound rotisserie chickens are actually cheaper than their uncooked ones. They're also among the cheapest rotisserie chickens around, making this a deal that seems too good to be true.

Boone Cliffs Kentucky Entire Loop Trail | 500,000 Year Old Glacial Formations in Northern KY
Located at: 4990 Middle Creek Rd. Burlington, KY 41005
The Boone County Cliffs State Nature Preserve is a 75 acre old growth forest that provides habitat for species and plants that are uncommon in Kentucky. The cliffs were formed by a glacier 250-500,000 years ago. Boone Cliffs is 74 acres of old growth forest and unique 20 to 40 foot cliff formations. There are unpaved trails rated moderate to difficult available for hiking. Limited Parking available only 6 spots. During hunting season please use caution as private land surrounds parks. There is limited to no cell phone coverage in some areas of the hiking path. Please pack water and snacks and plan for 1-2 hours of hiking.
From (Click link for a Trail Map):
Purchased in 1974, the original 46-acre tract was the first preserve of the Kentucky chapter of The Nature Conservancy (TNC). The preserve was dedicated by the Kentucky State Nature Preserves
Commission (KSNPC) in 1988, protecting it forever from development. In 2010, ownership of the preserve was transferred from TNC to the Boone County Fiscal Court. Boone County Cliffs derives its name from the 20 to 50-foot cliffs of conglomerate rock that rise above the valley slopes of a small tributary to Middle Creek. The cliffs are considered to be among the finest examples of glacial deposits in Kentucky. Originating from outwash materials from Kansan-age glaciers, the conglomerate consists of
well-cemented coarse gravels that were deposited 700,000 years ago. The glacial debris includes fine-grained igneous and metamorphic rock that originated in northern Canada. Meltwater from the glacier carried sandand gravel that had been locked in the ice into this upland valley in Boone County. The course of what
would become the Ohio River was just beginning to form at this time. As the Ohio River cut its channel, the Middle Creek tributary at Boone Cliffs began eroding and carving through the solidified glacial deposits as it flowed towards the Ohio River. The
sculpted shapes of the cliffs we see today are the result of the erosive power of flowing water. The preserve lies within the Eden Shale Belt of theOuter Bluegrass Region. Soils are generally fertile
and basic, ranging from mostly moist to moderately dry. The forest is characterized as calcareous mesophytic and consists of many species including sugar maple, basswood, beech, white oak, white ash, and slipperyelm. Hikers may see wildflowers such as trout lily, spring beauty, dutchman’s breeches, squirrel corn and bloodroot
along the trails in the springtime. The moist, spring-fed stream valley is home to the redback salamander, an uncommon species in Kentucky. Two-lined and dusky salamanders are found in association with springs on the property. In addition, the preserve supports an unusually high diversity of bird life, with warblers being especially abundant during the spring migration. Resident species include great horned owl, turkey, wood thrush, white-breasted nuthatch, scarlet and summer tanagers.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy hiking, birding, photography
and nature study from sunrise to sunset, every day of the year. The loop trail is a little over a mile and a half in length. It is moderately strenuous as it ascends to the ridgetop. Once on top of the ridge, the trail is an easy walk. It passes through a grove of mature beech on the east side and provides wonderful views of the cliffs
and the stream valley below. Note the changes in tree composition from the north-facing slopes to the southfacing side. Sugar maple, beech and basswood dominate the canopy on the moister, shadier north side and maple, chinquapin and red oaks occupy the drier south side. Other vegetation changes are becoming more apparent.
Garlic mustard, chickweed and bush honeysuckle have been steadily invading the preserve for several decades. These invasive non-native plants are taking over the habitat of native species that do not compete as well for space, nutrients and light. Efforts have been made to slow their spread, but more help is needed to stop
invasive plants from overrunning the preserve. Please contact KSNPC if you would like to volunteer.

7 Signs Your Pearls Are Fake (Identify Fake Pearls)
What are the signs pearls you are about to buy are fake? Learn to distinguish between fake and real pearls - as part of the Wedding series by GeoBeats.
Real pearls have a finger print like surface ridges in them. If you look very closely at them, even under a magnifying glass, you will notice these surface ridges and these specific qualities to each pearl. Whereas a fake pearl all of them look identical and they have smooth surface as they look the same.
The second main thing is to look at the overtone color. Just like the choir prone necklace, that I am wearing right now, all of the pearls have an overtone color that is extremely beautiful and lustrous. Whereas fake pearls have sort of a dull milky sort of color.
The next thing that you would want to know is that real pearls are reflective. So when you hold them into light you should see a little reflection of the light in them. Fake pearls are dull. They generally won't be reflective like that.
The next thing would be a slight difference in the sizes of each pearl, and let me clarify that a little more extensively. If you look at a strand of pearls and you look at each individual pearl, you actually notice that each one of them has a slightly different size, shape and texture and that is because they occur in nature. Whereas a fake pearl would all look at the same. They would all look exactly identical, exactly the same size as the others.
Real pearls are cold to the touch. Their temperatures are very interesting. When you have not put them on you and you touch them they feel cold. But when you put them on they sort of warm to your body temperature. Whereas fake pearls generally tend to remain at room temperatures. So if you touch them they will feel about room temperature.
Real pearls are heavier than fake pearls. Fake pearls are light. If you pick up the strand of them they are going to feel very light whereas real pearls are kind of heavy to your hand.
And finally this is a little bit bizarre, but this is actually a way to tell whether or not pearls are real or fake. If you were to take a strand of pearls and run them along your teeth if they have a griddy feeling then they would actually be real pearls. If they have a smooth feeling they are not real pearls. So an interesting thing to keep in mind. Maybe a little unorthodox but definitely a good way to tell whether they are real or fake.
Fatal Shooting of Terence Crutcher [Helicopter] - Tulsa, Oklahoma - September 16th 2016
Police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, released video and audio clips Monday from the fatal shooting of Terence Crutcher, a stranded and unarmed black motorist. The clips, captured from multiple angles on Friday, show the 40-year-old Crutcher with his hands up before he is stunned with a stungun and then shot by Tulsa officers.
Authorities gathered local community leaders — including pastors, state lawmakers and members of Crutcher's family — at Tulsa Police headquarters on Sunday to preview the clips, Ray Owens, a pastor at Metropolitan Baptist Church, said in a phone interview. He was among the 30 people present for the viewing.
My impression is that the video I saw is among the worst that we have seen nationally, Owens said. The man who was shot was walking away from police with his hands in the air. That, to me, suggests that he did not present a threat.
