OMEscape Room Escape Games Come to NYC
Originating in Japan, the real-life room escape games gained popularity in China in recent years and now is becoming popular in the United States.
Early this month, two Chinese graduates joined one of the biggest real life room escape game franchises: OMEscape and opened their own branch in midtown, New York.
Sinovision Journal reporter Jane Stone went to the store and brings you the story.

North Yorkshire is a non-metropolitan county (or shire county) and larger ceremonial county in England. It is located primarily in the region of Yorkshire and the Humber but partly in the region of North East England.
Created by the Local Government Act 1972, it covers an area of 8,654 square kilometres (3,341 sq mi), making it the largest county in England. The majority of the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors lie within North Yorkshire's boundaries, and around 40% of the county is covered by National Parks. The largest towns are York (153,717), Middlesbrough (138,400), Harrogate (73,576) and Scarborough (61,749); the county town, Northallerton, has a population of 16,832.
The area under the control of the county council, or shire county, is divided into a number of local government districts: Craven, Hambleton, Harrogate, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Scarborough and Selby.
The Department for Communities and Local Government considered reorganising North Yorkshire County Council's administrative structure by abolishing the seven district councils and the county council to create a North Yorkshire unitary authority. The changes were planned to be implemented no later than 1 April 2009. This was rejected on 25 July 2007 so the County Council and District Council structure will remain.

The largest settlement in the administrative county is Harrogate, the second largest is Scarborough, while in the ceremonial county, the largest is York. The largest urban area within the ceremonial county is the Middlesbrough built-up area sub-division of Teesside.
York, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland are unitary authority boroughs which form part of the ceremonial county for various functions such as the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, but do not come under county council control. Uniquely for a district in England, Stockton-on-Tees is split between North Yorkshire and County Durham for this purpose. Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, and Redcar and Cleveland boroughs form part of the North East England region.
The ceremonial county area, including the unitary authorities, borders East Riding of Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and County Durham.

10: Blackpool
Once famed for its golden mile, Blackpool now conjures up images of drunken stags and hens, falling over in the street and spewing on themselves, before retiring to a grotty seaside B&B.
9: Oldham
The most deprived town in England according to the ONS, where the streets have been described as “graffiti covered, fly-tipped shells of what they once were”.
8: Sunderland
has the highest rate of teen pregnancies in Europe.
sexual offences, violent crime and theft are all on the up and are higher than the national average. (I’ve seen policemen on pedal bikes chasing chavs in stolen cars. You might not believe it but I really have seen it!)
7: Gravesend
One voter comments: I have lived in Gravesend all my life. I have visited many other crap towns across Kent like Lewisham, Dartford, Chatham and so on and not one so far, has even came near to being as chav infested as Gravesend.
6. BRADFORD
A Commenter says: Bradford is literally hell on earth. The city centre resembles a squalid cess pit, full of monstrous partially demolished 60’s concrete office blocks, Pound shops, amusement arcades, prostitutes, heroin addicts, Eastern European car-jackers, Asian drug dealers, pre-pubescent mums and mad alcoholic tramps having arguments with themselves.
Being the sixth largest city in the country, in terms of population, it now boasts another famous serial killer...
5: ROCHDALE
One in seven people in Rochdale had no qualifications at all. Weekly earnings were £413 on average last year, compared to £676 in London.
4. SCUNTHORPE
A town once voted the least romantic place in the country.
Apparently Maccy Ds is a chav’s staple diet. Well the small town of Scunthorpe has 3.

A video tutorial on how to escape the police.
US couple narrowly escape gang of machete-wielding bandits
SHOCKING footage shows a group of machete-wielding bandits chasing an American couple on a dusty road in Kenya.
Bryant Swenson and his wife Lauren, from Utah, were driving near Mai Mahiu on November 30 when three masked men attacked their car.
The couple, who moved to Nairobi with their three kids to open a CrossFit gym, spotted a white van which the gangsters are believed to have been trying to rob.
Bryant said in a Facebook post about the attempted robbery, that one of the men was carrying a gun but “couldn't get it out of his waistbelt in time”.
As the bandits rushed towards their Toyota Land Cruiser, Bryant had to reverse backwards to give himself time to roll up his window before moving past the dangerous criminals.
He then quickly shifted back into drive and sped past the three bandits who hurled their giant blades at the passing car.

Escape From New York: Exploring the United States on A Triumph Bonneville
Over the past few years I noticed I was developing some bad habits. I realized that even though I sit at a computer all day for work, I was reaching for my phone more and more, getting lost in a never ending cycle of distraction. I somehow couldn't get enough internet and was stuck in an constant loop of checking instagram, reddit, twitter, text messages, email...rinse and repeat rinse and repeat. It was driving me insane but I couldn't seem to break it.
I decided to take my bike on a crazy 6 week adventure across the good ol' US of A, deleting all the garbage off my phone and just experiencing it. Paper maps, camping, exploring, talking to locals for cool places to check out...god damn was it good. I even had a buddy hop on for a week to share some of the experience. We stayed off the highways and enjoyed seeing the real America, two lane backroads only.
I was very lucky the stars aligned and gave me an opening in my work schedule to make this insane trip possible... but I can't advocate enough how important it was to take a break from the internet. 6 weeks was indulgent, any amount of time is amazing. Hopefully someone sees this and gets the itch to do the same, you will not regret it.
(Of course now that I'm back, here I am on my computer, writing this up so I can post it on instagram, reddit, twitter...oh well. )
