APARTMENTS IN A HISTORIC PALACE
The apartments for sale in Caspe, Aragon, are in a beautifully restored historic palace in the centre of town. The exterior masonry dates from the 16th to the 18th century and has been fully restored with lovely little balconies and large windows.
The 50 m2 apartments have a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and an inner patio. The properties for sale have been restored to very high standards with ceramic tiles in the kitchen and bathroom, varnished oak in the interior and wood flooring. The fully-fitted kitchens also have lacquered high-quality wood furniture and stylish Silestone quartz worktops.
Independently for sale inside the building are also two storage rooms and six garage spaces.
The building has natural gas central heating and each apartment has aluminium radiators to set the temperature. Water is heated by solar panels on the roof. The thick, original, exterior walls keep the interior cool during the balmy summer months and the windows are double-glazed to keep out the noise and to aid heating in the short winter months. There is also an innovative Schindler elevator to every floor. The former palace has disabled access.
These are beautiful apartments which have been designed to the highest standards as one would expect in such an important historic building. Inside the historic façade are apartments designed to the highest standards and built with quality materials.
The building has 24-hour security, strengthened doors and an entry phone system.
To get an idea of how the apartments can look, there is a show flat which is fully-furnished.

LIFESTYLE & CULTURE
Caspe is a pretty little historic town, which is believed to have been founded by Noah's grandson. It has witnessed many wars as overseas warriors including the Moors tried to conquer this important fertile land. The town has a beautiful church, a military fort and ancient cave paintings. Caspe is most famous for its Compromiso of 1412 (a solemn political Compromise among warring dynasties), and has been granted the titles of Nobilísima and Antiquísima (most noble and antique).
Caspe is on the banks of the scenic River Ebro, which is brimming with fish, which has turned the town into a haven for anglers with carp fishing being a particular speciality. There is also a massive man-made lake, known as the Aragón Sea. In the summer, this is a popular area for water-sport enthusiasts, swimmers and, of course, fishermen. In October, Caspe hosts a famous black bass fishing competition which attracts competitors from around the world. There is also ample game, and the becerradas, acts of deer-hunting along the Sierra, take place at night and constitute a unique show.
Caspe is also a food-lovers' paradise with an exciting range of dishes including the many varieties of local fish. Typical also are eggplants and pork, in the form of home-made black puddings and sausages (chorizos). Other regional dishes include lamb, pickle sauce recipes (which constitute delicacies), snails, and almond and apple cakes. The region also produces outstanding peaches and olives; its olive oil being particularly famous.
Local fiestas include Holy Week with processions on Holy Monday and Good Friday, as well as the Fiestas of the local Patron Saint (San Roque) in August, with a week of dancing, a fruits offering and a parade to the hermitage.
