SUBSCRIBE: - Castle Cornet is a large island castle in Guernsey, and former tidal island, also known as Cornet Rock or Castle Rock, its importance was as a guardian not only of the Island, but of the roadstead. It became part of one of the breakwaters of St Peter Port's harbour, the main one in the island, since 1859.
Guernsey is one of the Channel Islands in the English Channel near the French coast, and is a self-governing British Crown dependency. It's known for beach resorts like Cobo Bay and the scenery of its coastal cliffs. Castle Cornet, a 13th-century harbor fortification in the capital of St. Peter Port, now contains history and military museums. Hauteville House is the lavish former home of French writer, Victor Hugo.

St Peter Port Guernsey
St Peter Port is the capital of Guernsey and the main port, Guernsey in the Channel Islands are part of United Kingdom and situated just off the French Normandy coats in the English Channel.
As we sail into St Sampsoms Harbour past the lighthouse and Castle Cornet and lovely views of the sea front, as we go around the town you will see the town church, restaurants shops, craft market. I hope you enjoy this short film as I didn't have much time to film.

CONDOR LIBERATION Arrives in Guernsey to a 9 Gun Salute From Castle Cornet
The trimaran fast ferry, Condor Liberation arriving into Guernsey's St. Peter Port Harbour on Friday 20th March 2015.
It arrived to a nine gun salute from Castle Cornet for the start of a weekend where it had it's official naming ceremony and a series of public open days. The public tours in Guernsey were on the 20th and 21st March. The official naming ceremony was on the 21st at 13:00 - 14:00 which included a speech from the Chief Minister of the States of Guernsey. The Condor Liberation then travelled to Jersey later that afternoon, there were public tours in Jersey on the 22nd March after which it returned to Poole that evening.

This castle has been around for centuries. The guided tour is great and highly entertaining. Well worth a visit.
