THERE’S A LINE ON THE PAGE of rules saying “If you tell the bartender it’s his choice, don’t complain about what comes”. Mixologist Hitoshi Fujiwara says some people stumble in without knowing what they’re getting into. But it’s hard to imagine how. If the bar’s name didn’t give them a clue, the entrance should have: there’s a centrifuge gizmo, a rotary evaporator and a stuffed deer’s head.
This is a modern mixologist’s lair where the ingredients include Guinness syrup, blue cheese cognac and camembert salt. It’s barmy and you’ll love it (or hate it).
There are 18 rotovaped gins and 20 house-flavoured vodkas. You can order a Breakfast (smoked bacon vodka, corn syrup, egg, centrifuged tomato) or a Tom Yum Cooler (Tom Yum vodka, tamarind syrup and so on). For local flavours, try a Grilled Miso Martini, a cedar-flavoured gin and tonic, or anything with the wasabi-rotavaped Grey Goose.

In May we were travelling to East Asia and visited several conventions:
- Tokyo Game Market in Japan
- Moonlight Boardgame Festival in Kaohsioung, Taiwan
- Seoul Boardgame Festa in Korea
Plus we just returned from UK Games Expo in Birmingham last weekend.
