As the founder of the French visual label EZ3kiel, Yann Nguema was during 25 years of its existence behind countless projects thanks to which the former scientist established himself at the international art scene. He has not fully turned against the science since his projects actually have been built on the technology, research and art. He investigates and utilizes relations between the image and sound, creates his own software tools and in this way he enriches the show with interactive spark. He is currently an ambassador for the Festival of Lights in Lyon.
Installation
In order to evoke the impression of movement of dozens of stones, the author of the project Caryatids Yann Nguema was developing his own software for four years. This videomapping actually works with each of approximately 50 thousand bricks comprising the facade of the Church of St. Ludmila.
Caryatids are the statues of female figures that actually serve to support various parts of the facade with their heads. This particular architectonical element actually inspired creation of numerous figures that remind guards or atlantes that sort of get up from the bricks of the Church of St. Ludmila and pulse imprisoned by futuristic choreography.
As another artwork by Yann Nguema, videomapping Caryatids excels in its extraordinarily elaborated technical aspects as well as poetic beauty. Music accompanying it was composed by a young French artist Pierre Mottron.

The neo-Gothic Church of St Ludmila is one of the dominant features of the Vinohrady district. It was built according to designs by Josef Mocker from 1888 to 1892. Two 60 m towers, each with two bells, are like two hands clasped in prayer. The church is a brick three-aisled basilica with a transept in the shape of a cross. Its interior is lit by stained glass windows depicting figures of saints, and it is richly decorated with sculptures and paintings.

The Church of St Ludmila, a Brick Gothic Revival church that dominates the Prague skyline, is a three-aisle basilica with a transept and two tall steeples rising up on the front façade. The church was built according to a design by architect Joseph Mocker in 1888 – 1892. After it was completed, the Archbishop of Prague, Cardinal Franziskus Schönborn consecrated the church and a ceremony was held as the remains of St Ludmila and St Wenceslaus were brought to the church. Each of the 60 metre steeples contains two bells. The tall entrance stairway leads to the main portal. The tympanum shows a high relief of Christ with Saints Wenceslaus and Ludmila created by Josef Václav Myslbek with emblems of the evangelists by Jan Capek. Statues of the Bohemian patrons, St Ludmila, Cyril and Methodius, St Procopius and St Adalbert, are in the gables of the nave and side aisles. The interior of the church offers breathtakingly colourful frescoes, stained-glass windows and rich subject matter.
The church belongs to the Roman Catholic Church.
The church is open during mass daily at 4:30 p.m. and on Sunday also at 11 a.m. You can also visit the church on the Night of Open Churches, which usually happens at the end of May or beginning of June.

The ESCAPE projection was created by the Hungarian pioneer of videomapping. His play of light with a facade is minimalist in colour, but unafraid of using figurative motifs. This combination of figurative and abstract elements with dramatic musical tones from the renowned Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhansson creates a unique approach to videomapping.
Projekce ESCAPE pochází z dílny maďarského průkopníka videomappingu. Jeho světelná hra s fasádou je barevně minimalistická, ale obsahově se nebojí využívat figurativní motivy. Jejich kombinace s abstraktními prvky a s dramatickými tóny hudby uznávaného islandského skladatele Jóhanna Jóhanssona vytváří unikátní přístup k videoappingu.

ESCAPE - an artwork by László Zsolt Bordos / alias Bordos.ArtWorks on the facade of the St. Ludmilla Church in Prague. Commissioned by the SIGNAL Festival 2015.
”Escape” is a kind of Ars Poetica of the artist, compiling figurative content with abstract visuals, with a heavy tone music of the great Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson. Beside avoiding cliches, the artwork is aiming to approach 3d mapping content in a different way and to generate feelings trough digital art.
