Exploring Kyoto: Southern Higashiyama - Japan Vlog
Exploring the old Japanese streets of Southern Higashiyama in Kyoto.
Higashiyama is one of the main sightseeing districts in Kyoto, where you can walk along old Japanese streets and see old wooden machiya town houses. It's also very busy and touristy! One of the main temples in the area is Kiyomizudera. You can also see the Kamogawa River, which runs through the middle of Kyoto. We went for kakigori, then curry udon at a restaurant called Mimikou:
Sorry the video's a bit shaky in places, it's so difficult to film when you're holding an umbrella!

Home to some of the most beautiful and scenic temples and shrines in all of Japan, in this video, you can witness Kodaiji (高台寺), Kenninji (建仁寺), Hirano Shrine (平野神社), Koke dera (苔寺), Kinkakuji (金閣寺) and Kifune Shrine (貴船神社). Some of the shots with a more traditional feel were taken at Yasaka Pagoda (八坂通り), Kamishichiken Umeno (上七軒 梅乃) for the wonderful maiko that we had permission to shoot, Chikurin no komichi (竹林の小径(嵐山), Sagano Scenic Railway (嵯峨野観光鉄道) and Kameoka city (亀岡市).
Kyoto also has some beautiful nature as seen at Hozugawa (保津川), Kamogawa river (鴨川) and Katsura river (桂川). Lastly, you can't forget about the fire ramen seen at Menbaka Ichidai (めん馬鹿一代) that you must try out if you come by the Kansai area!

Japan Video Diary #2: Kyoto
I was hoping to combine this with the Osaka trip but that one lasted more than 19 minutes, so I thought I might as well divide them all.
Sorry that some parts were not landscaped. Those were taken from my IG stories and I thought it would make more sense if I included them here for the full story of what happened. See, this video diary is really more for me, so that I can look back and watch this whenever I'm missing Japan. :) That's why it's super simple as well, I didn't use too many background songs (but really, I'm also just lazy af hahaha).
It had been my life long dream to go to Japan. I saved up real hard and was able to drag my good friend, Ariesa/Eydee, with me. I'm glad she's up to go wherever I wanna go. Hahaha :)
Thanks for watching!
