We took our kids ages 8, 10 & 15 on this tour. Our 8 year old is tiny, under 50 pounds so she rode with a guide for the tour. They had all the needed safety equipment and spoke great English. The guides pointed out the spider monkeys in the trees and the coati in the fields.
One line is 500 feet long! Wow! Another went over a stream in the jungle. There was a short hike between one set of lines through the primary forest, water and fresh pineapple were offered during/after the tour. We were able to lock our backpack up in the office while we were zip-lining. They also picked us up and drop us off at our house in town. We enjoyed the drive in the back of the truck through the river!

My wife and two kids (Age 9 and 11) had a wonderful time on this canopy tour. It was just the four of us. They picked us up near our hotel- and the drive alone was alot of fun-- got to ford a river in a 4X4, which the kids loved. The canopy tour itself was great. 12 different zlplines, some as long as a quarter mile. Felt very safe, and the guides were super attentive.
---------------------
We were lucky enough to have a private excursion to the canopy tour. We felt welcomed by our guides who were very thorough about teaching us the ropes (pun intended). They were very well trained and I felt very safe at every point along the way. They indulged us in our Spanish practice but also reviewed in English just to be sure we got it. The views were great and the last line was super long and fast. I'd definitely recommend this adventure to anyone whether you like heights or not. Then hang out for a beer or two in their restaurant.

This was my first time zip lining, and it was great! Super fun, beautiful views. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I always felt safe and secure.
--------------------
wfully nice folks with all the right emphasis on safety but the wood planks on the platforms has seen better days looking broken, rotten, cracked or worn in places, platforms themselves appear amply supported by cables but shake when many bodies move about, apparently no tough legislation like US standards, the jungle is so dense that views are limited and you cannot see ground or sky often, all in all though good clean fun
---------------------------
I was a bit concerned going zip lining for the first time. I'm 65 yo and in average shape. Worried about safety, how to brake, how would the climb up to the platforms be etc. etc. The stairs were fine, the higher elevation rope stairs were fun and wobbly. Your hooked to a safety line all the time.
Braking is easy to learn; most important go FAST, and brake on platform approach based on guides signals. You don't want yo get stuck short of the platform (no problems for this neophyte).
I'm hooked after this wonderful experience. I felt safe, had good instruction, and really experienced Costa Rica's forest canopy. The longest of the runs are among the longest anywhere, and the hike through the jungle in the middle between platforms was a bonus.
Be sure they adjust your harness so that you can sit up easily. I had to really pull on the suspension to keep myself upright, others didn't have that challenge.
As they say just do it!!!
---------------------
I am scared of heights and I have not been zip lining but was glad I did. The guides on our trip explained everything very well in the beginning. This eased my mind right from the get go. Each run was an amazing and exhilarating ride.
------------------------
My husband and I recently did this tour and what a thrill. We have done a few zip line tours in Central America and were excited for this one. We stayed at the Tranquilo lodge and they picked us up, about a 20 min car ride to the spot. All the reviews you read talk about safety and how you always feel safe. This is absolutely true, you are always safe and they take excellent care of you. We had done this tour mid morning so it was quite warm and no wildlife to see, earlier morning would be the best if you are looking for wildlife. It was such a thrill every single run! When we were done we walked back and rested, they brought us some fresh pineapple and watermelon which was so refreshing and a nice touch to the end of a wonderful adventure. Thanks again!! Must do if you are in this area.

Drake Bay: Costa Rica's Pacific Retreat
In the most populated parts of Costa Rica, especially the inland Central Valley region, the roads are paved and reasonably well-maintained. It’s easy to get around from place to place. Although, the country is mountainous and roads, aside from major highways, are narrow and winding, so it does take you quite a bit longer than you might think to cover a relatively short distance.
But in off-the-beaten path spots and lightly populated rural areas, whether you’re in the mountains or on the coast, away from tourist centers, it’s a different story, and access can be difficult. Dirt and gravel roads in various states of repair could be a major part of your route, and a four-wheel drive vehicle a necessity.
In some locations it’s easier to seek an alternative form of transportation. Regional airlines with small planes have tiny airports throughout Costa Rica. And at the beaches you also find water taxis and ferries.

Teddy goes hiking along the coast next to Corcovado national park in Costa Rica. The Capuchin monkeys were very interested in Teddy (running in the tree to get a closer look).
Stayed in Corcovado Jungle hostel which was very rustic - the crabs crawled under the door at night.
