Our Complete Detailed Tour & Stay At Disney's Coronado Springs Resort Gran Destino!
In today's video we head to Disney's Coronado Springs Resort to stay in the new Gran Destino Tower as part of a hosted media preview before the tower opened. Follow along as we explore the entire building including a stay in a water view king room. In addition to that we had the chance to see a water view double queen and a 1 bedroom suite! We also had a chance to check out the club access lounge, Tolédo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood, Dahlia Lounge, and Three Bridges Bar & Grill. The entire tower feels very modern and chic with traditional touches. There are a lot of interesting aspects to the entire tower that set it apart from any hotel we have ever stayed at from smart TVs that show Disney Photopass Photos to elevators with buttons on the exterior rather than on the interior. All in all it's a very nice addition to the Disney Resort lineup. Be sure to join us tomorrow for another new video!
Here is the last update we did before the tower opened:

The Perfect Home Based Business
Recently receiving acclaim as one of Dr. Beach's top 10 beaches, Coronado Beach is far more than sand and surf. This luxurious escape in southeastern California is a favorite among our readers, and its Mediterranean-like climate offers a warm welcome for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, or fishing. Families can feel at ease here, as lifeguards patrol the beach regularly. Turn-of-the-century mansions provide a backdrop for the soft stretch of sand, which includes Coronado's most famous landmark, the Hotel del Coronado. For more than a century, this hotel has hosted many prestigious guests, and is now a prime spot for celebrity sightings. The hotel even offers beachside service, where you can enjoy a drink or a light snack on the sand.

Weekend Driver visits the Tijuana Estuary, Silver Strand and Coronado
Back in 2004, after Weekend Driver San Diego was published, I did a series of four drives for the ABC affiliate in San Diego, KGTV-10. Legendary photographer Lee Louis and I cruised around the Tijuana Estuary, Silver Strand and Coronado for this edition. Since 2004, the US has built a bigger fence along the border, so much of the bluff area at the south end of the estuary has been scarred. So, enjoy this drive and a bit of history. 15 Minute Meditation Around the World: Coronado, California | How to Meditate| Guided Meditation
Welcome to Coronado! Make you sure check out the five main regions.
1) Bayside & the Ferry Landing- Near the bridge on the Bayside is the luxurious Coronado Marriott Resort, Coronado Ferry Landing with its galleries, boutique shops and great restaurants with exceptional views, and historic Centennial Park. At the east end of Orange Avenue, you’ll also find a number of specialty shops and dining opportunities and elegant condos overlooking the ever-changing views of the San Diego skyline and busy harbor.
2) Historic Downtown - Along Orange Avenue you will find historic Downtown, brimming with community life—a genuine “Main Street U.S.A.” Discover shopping; everything from surfboards to high-end jewelry and the latest fashions. You can find award-winning restaurants and sidewalk cafes, hotels and boutique inns, peaceful parks and the historic library. A favorite pastime is strolling the well maintained streets, window shopping, people watching and enjoying the lush gardens and tree-lined medians.
3) Beaches - Some of the world’s most desirable beaches can be found in Coronado. Dr. Beach ranked Coronado’s Central Beach as the #1 Beach in the United States in 2012. Parents Magazine also named Coronado in its Top 10 U.S. beaches. The miles of silvery sand, rich in mica, glimmer in the sun like diamonds. There are four main beaches — Central Beach, South Beach, Silver Strand State Beach and North Beach. These beaches connect into miles of sand and ocean.
4) Glorietta Bay - Glorietta Bay is found where Orange Avenue ends and The Silver Stand begins. The San Diego Bay is on one side of Orange Avenue and South Beach on the other. Yachts with billowing sails dot Glorietta Bay, framed by Glorietta Bay Park with its gentle swimming beach, the San Diego-Coronado Bridge, Coronado Municipal Golf Course, Coronado Tennis Center, Coronado Yacht Club, Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill, public marina and boat ramp, Coronado Municipal Pool,Community Center, Club Room & Boathouse — that are as nice as any country club — and Glorietta Bay Park. On the other side of Orange Avenue, stands the Coronado Shores condominium towers with million-dollar views of the beaches and bay. The Navy SEALs and Naval Amphibious Base.
5) Silver Strand - The Silver Strand is a peninsula that starts where Orange Avenue ends, extending south along State Route 75 past the award-winning Loews Coronado Bay Resort and Spa, Crown Cove Aquatics Center, the Navy’s Fiddlers Cove and Coronado Cays residential development. The paved pedestrian and bike path, part of the Bayshore Bikeway, stretches to the gorgeous state beach park and a nature sanctuary.

The goal of meditation is to focus and quiet your mind—eventually reaching a higher level of awareness and inner calm. Meditation is an ancient practice, but scientists are still discovering all of its benefits. Neurologists have found that regular meditation actually changes your brain in ways that can help you to control emotions, enhance concentration, decrease stress, and even become more connected to those around you. It may seem challenging at first, but by learning the basics of meditation, you can begin your journey on the path of enlightenment and bliss. With practice, you’ll be able to achieve a sense of tranquility and peace no matter what's going on around you.

711 A Ave, Coronado, San Diego, Tudor home an in depth look
For sale, For Rent, For Lease, Open for business, , this one-of-a kind, three story, 14000 sq.ft. home and registered landmark is less than a mile from the world-class destination Hotel Del Coronado resort in the City of Coronado, California. Offered for sale, no currency today could forge such an authentic and spectacularly crafted once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Originally drafted by noted architects William Hebbard and Irving Gill in 1898, the commission was to be a vacation getaway for a wealthy Standard Oil executive. The work eventually was completed in 1929 and, by then, it had become the Southern California retirement home of the former surgeon general of New York. Purchased again at auction in 1950, 711 A Avenue became the home to a family of stalwart ‘islanders’ dedicated to the small-town community of Coronado. The manor since has been the site of countless historical tours, social functions and picturesque garden weddings.
The grounds’ mature foliage shrouds the majestic design and quality construction of this exquisite example of Old English Country style architecture — all of it in the center of one romantic and idyllic beach town.
With its small-town Americana feel, Coronado is one of the most highly rated and coveted beach cities in California. 711 A Avenue is located only a few short blocks from the main artery of Coronado’s community heart, also known as ‘The Village’. Directly across the bay from metropolitan San Diego, life in this affluent resort town of less than 25,000 includes golfing at the renowned waterside course, sailing out of Glorietta Bay, surfing and sunbathing in the Pacific, as well as browsing the collection of small specialty shops and dining in the fine eateries along Orange Avenue. There are miles of walking and biking paths, and plenty of public park space and natural beauty. Add upscale cultural events, hometown pride and one of the most patriotic Independence Day parade displays around, it then becomes apparent why this tourist destination converts vacationers to residents with frequent regularity.
Whether a resident or a tourist, one immediately will notice the high and steep-pitched roof lines as well as the adobe and wood exterior walls of this impressive house. Features of this 30-room mansion include 9 bedrooms, 13 bath and powder rooms, a ballroom, and a walnut-paneled living room with a hidden doorway and private stairwell to the wine cellar. The reserved luxury of the formal dining room with a splendid fireplace promises another 100 years of memorable feasts. The caretaker suites and servant entries add to the functionality of the estate, as does the elevator and dumbwaiter. The original period appliances in the kitchen including the iceboxes and gas stove are updated, though they preserve a museum quality appearance. Beautifully styled gables and dormer windows provide ample light through the beveled glass, and architectural details like sterling silver electrical and bathroom fixtures, as well as the priceless Delft tiles that artistically frame one of the many fireplaces, should not be overlooked.
Inside, the marble-arched entry way welcomes visitors and ocean breezes alike. The floorplan here is a textbook case of an English country house layout. Chambers throughout include a study, an anteroom, sitting rooms, the library, the butler’s pantry and vestibules; and, mapping one’s initial orientation should begin with one of the more dramatic features — the grand wooden staircase. Each of its landings could be scenes from the famous Hearst Castle. Artistic archways and detailed handiwork seems to document one’s ascent from the large first-floor entry hall to the third-floor room with beautiful 18 x 20 inch wood beams adorned with Chinese graphics. Ornamental ceiling treatments and hidden doorways add to the awe. The master bedrooms on the second floor are all complete suites, and the rooftop Widow’s Walk offers 360-degree views including Glorietta Bay, downtown San Diego’s skyline, picturesque western sunsets, and the iconic red-roof shingles of the Hotel Del Coronado resort.
Sun rooms, covered balconies and porches overlook the green expanse of the estate’s park-like yard. The back patio terrace is ideal for outdoor socials, and its steps lead to dining and seating areas, as well as the pergola-covered path through the gardens across the lawn.

Coronado residents blame mayor for dirty beaches
Some Coronado residents are blaming their mayor for trash and raw sewage spilling on the beaches in front of their homes.
