ANTALYA SEA TREKKING IN THE LAND OF LEGENDS | Antalya - Turkey | Episode: 19 | Irem Ozel
Hello Everyone, hope you enjoy my weekly Vlogs.
Inspiring video's about Life style, and Travelling.
A Mythical Journey Sea trekking in Antalya, Turkey.
Adjacent to the shark tank, there is the coral reef tank with thousands of brightly coloured tropical fish. This tank is buzzing with activity and life. This is also where you feed the fishes yourself and go for a walk on the sea bed in the sea trekking experience!
The idea of Sea Trekking is to walk along the sea bed whilst wearing a helmet connected via a tube to a pressure pump allowing you to breath naturally. The helmet also functions as a weight to keep you from floating up.
The deepest part of the tank is 5 meters so for some people, the pressure is already enough to be extremely uncomfortable. One girl in my group had to forfeit because the pressure made her feel too much pain.
To deal with the pressure change as you go deep into the water, the instructor advised us to hold our breath or pinch our noses.
The helmet has to be held steady and level when walking down the steps into the tank. This is because water can easily leak inside the air bubble. To prevent this, we were asked to pull down on our helmets as we walked down.
Once we reach the bottom of the steps, there is a path with some handle bars to help us walk along the bottom. Even with the helmet weighing us down, it's actually quite easy to float back up. I imagine this is the feeling of weightlessness also felt by astronauts walking in space or on the moon.
At first, the fish were very shy, hiding between the coral reefs in the center. After a while, they warmed up to us and even came to eat the food we offered them. I was quite scared because all the fishes would circle around me and would even bite on my hands. Obviously they were harmless and soon my fears became excitement as more of the friendly fishes encircled me!
The instructor who came down with us also brought along a cameraman who had a huge underwater camera to take pictures for us.
After about 30 minutes, it was time to go back up.

Eurasia Tunnel - Istanbul Turkey
The Eurasia Tunnel Project connects the Asian and European continents via a highway tunnel crossing beneath the seafloor.
The Eurasia Tunnel Project (Istanbul Strait Road Tube Crossing Project) connects the Asian and European sides of the city via a highway tunnel crossing underneath the seafloor. The Eurasia Tunnel, between traffic-dense Kazlıçeşme and Göztepe, covers a route of 14.6 kilometers.
While the 5.4-kilometer section of the Project consists of a twin-deck tunnel under the seafloor built with special technology and connection tunnels, a total of 9.2-kilometer routes on both the Asian and European sides includes road expansion and improvement works. The approach roads between Sarayburnu-Kazlıçeşme and Harem-Göztepe were expanded and intersections, vehicle underpasses and pedestrian overpasses were constructed.
The tunnel crossing and highway improvement-expansion work eases vehicle traffic in a holistic manner. It enables drivers to experience the freedom of a safe and comfortable journey while the duration of travel time on a heavily trafficked route is considerably shortened. In addition, environmental and noise pollution are reduced.
The Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications and the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments commissioned Eurasia Tunnel Operation Construction and Investment Inc. (ATAŞ) to carry out the design, construction and operation of the Eurasia Tunnel Project. After the completion of the operation period, the Eurasia Tunnel will be transferred to the public. #underwater #tunnel #istanbul

The Bosphorus
The Bosphorus (Turkish: Boğaziçi) is a strait that forms part of the boundary between Europe and Asia. The Bosporus, the Sea of Marmara, and the Dardanelles strait to the southwest together form the Turkish Straits. The world's narrowest strait used for international navigation, the Bosporus connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara (which is connected by the Dardanelles to the Aegean Sea, and thereby to the Mediterranean Sea). The limits of the Bosporus are defined as the connecting line between the lighthouses Rumeli Feneri and Anadolu Feneri in the north and between the Ahırkapı Feneri and the Kadıköy İnciburnu Feneri in the south. Between the limits, the strait is 31 km (17 nmi) long, with a width of 3,329 m (1.798 nmi) at the northern entrance and 2,826 m (1.526 nmi) at the southern entrance. Its maximum width is 3,420 m (1.85 nmi) between Umuryeri and Büyükdere Limanı, and minimum width 700 m (0.38 nmi) between Kandilli Point and Aşiyan. This part of the strait is a dangerous point for maritime traffic: a 45-degree course alteration is required, and the current can reach 7 to 8 knots (3.6 to 4.1 m/s). To the south, at Yeniköy, the necessary course alteration is 80 degrees. All the dangers and obstacles characteristic of narrow waterways are present and acute in this critical sea lane. At the above-mentioned turns (Kandilli and Yeniköy) where significant course alterations have to be made, the rear and forward sights are totally blocked prior to and during the course alteration. Ships approaching from the opposite direction cannot be seen around these bends. The risks posed by geography are multiplied by the heavy ferry traffic across the strait, linking the European and Asian sides of the city.
The depth of the Bosporus varies from 13 to 110 m (43 to 361 ft) in midstream with an average of 65 m (213 ft). The deepest location is between Kandilli and Bebek with 110 m (360 ft). The most shallow locations are off Kadıköy İnciburnu on the northward route with 18 m (59 ft) and off Aşiyan Point on the southward route with 13 m (43 ft). The Golden Horn is an estuary off the main straits that acted as a moat to protect Old Istanbul from attack, as well as providing a sheltered anchorage for the imperial navy until the 19th century.
Most of the shores of the strait are heavily populated, straddled as it is by the city of Istanbul (with a metropolitan area population in excess of 12 million inhabitants) which extends inland from both coasts. It has been known since before the 20th century that the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara flow into each other in an example of a density flow and in August 2010 a continuous 'underwater channel' of suspension composition was discovered to flow along the floor of the Bosporus which would be the sixth largest river on Earth if it were to be on land. The study of the water and wind erosion of the straits relates to that of its formation. Sections of the shore have been reinforced with concrete or rubble and sections of the strait prone to deposition are periodically dredged.
Two points in Istanbul have most of the public ferries that traverse the strait: from Eminönü (ferries dock at the Boğaz İskelesi pier) on the historic peninsula of Istanbul to Anadolu Kavağı near the Black Sea, zigzagging and calling briefly multiple times at the Rumelian and Anatolian sides of the city. At central piers shorter, regular ride in one of the public ferries cross.
Private ferries operate between Üsküdar and Beşiktaş or Kabataş in the city. The few well-known geographic hazards are multiplied by ferry traffic across the strait, linking the European and Asian sides of the city, particularly for the largest ships.
The catamaran seabuses offer high-speed commuter services between the European and Asian shores of the Bosphorus, but they stop at fewer ports and piers in comparison to the public ferries. Both the public ferries and the seabuses also provide commuter services between the Bosphorus and the Prince Islands in the Sea of Marmara.
There are also tourist rides available in various places along the coasts of the Bosphorus. The prices vary according to the type of the ride, and some feature loud popular music for the duration of the trip.wikipedia

Stig Pryds is a Danish record holding freediver. He was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in 2008, which disabled him so much that he lost his business. After 5 years of intense pain and increasing dependency on drugs, he decided to quit all drugs cold turkey, and find alternative ways to deal with his disease. He began practising yoga daily, changed his diet, and started practising freediving. This caused drastic changes: within months he could walk without a cane, and he could play with his two young daughters again.
It also taught him how good he actually was at freediving; within a year he started setting Danish records. He started traveling the world going to freediving competitions, where the warm weather and sun also improved his condition. He used his increased exposure from the Danish records to tell the story of his recovery and inspire people to live a healthy lifestyle. He started teaching others how to deal with auto-immune disorders.
The downside of his new fame was that the insurance company, who paid his monthly disability check, noticed that he was doing things a healthy person does. Despite the argument that he's only healthy because he can do these travels and trainings, the insurance company threatened to sue him for lying -he'd have to pay back all the disability checks plus a fee. With the help from his doctors Stig managed to convince them his disease is real, just that he manages it well, but the insurance company decided to stop paying him his disability. The stress this whole procedure caused was enormous and Stig relapsed into severe pain.
We shot this video in January, the hardest month for Stig, where he had to figure out how to proceed. We talked about how life can keep dealing you blow after blow, and how you know that you'll be ok anyway. But it still sucks that you have to deal with the blows, and have to go through that uncertainty of what comes next. Stig has decided to focus on his new breathing program, in which he teaches people how to breathe properly to deal with stress and disease, together with yoga and diet. He might not be able to compete much this year, but he's getting back up and doing his best to be of use to others. Find out more about Stig here:

Marmaris, Turkey - One of Top 10 World Cheapest Tourist Destinations
Marmaris Turkey is one of the best tourist place place in the world
Marmaris is a port city and tourist resort on the Mediterranean coast, located in Muğla Province, southwest Turkey, along the shoreline of the Turkish Riviera.
Marmaris' main source of income is tourism. It is located between two intersecting sets of mountains by the sea, though following a construction boom in the 1980s, little is left of the sleepy fishing village that Marmaris was until the late 20th century. In 2010, the city's population was 30,957, and peaks at around 300,000 to 400,000 people during the tourist season.
It is also a centre for sailing and diving, possessing two major and several smaller marinas. It is a popular wintering location for hundreds of cruising boaters, being also served by the nearby Dalaman Airport.
