Nusa Dua is an area in the southern part of Bali, Indonesia, known as an enclave of large 5-star resorts. It is located 22 kilometers from Denpasar, the provincial capital of Bali, and administered under South Kuta District. Nusa Dua means two islands (nusa 'island', dua 'two'), because there are 2 islands in the bay of Bali Tourism Development Corporation area. On the southern side lies Peninsula Island, and on the northern side lies Nusa Dharma Island, which is smaller but shadier, and which contains the Pura/Temple Nusa Dharma
Diving at Denpasar
First time diving experience at Nusa Dua, Denpasar, Bali. It requires some level of adaptability to substandard cleanliness and total chaos. But once you are in the water with your instructor they do a good job. The scenery is kind of dull. But you will see some fish, some broken statues they dumped and tied there - and you can tick the scuba diving box on your bucket list. We now might want to try a nicer place next to take this to the next level.
BALI SEAWALKER, MUST-DO UNDERWATER ACTIVITY!

SCUBA FAIL IN BALI! Pemuteran - Indonesia
Part 2 of our month long trip to Indonesia during 2016.
This video shows us taking the ferry from Java to Bali spending a few days scuba diving in the north west coast of Bali - at and around Pemuteran & Menjangan Island.
We prefer not to use any organised tours and travel independently where possible. We usually have a solid plan on where to go but the itinerary is never fixed and we take it a day or so at a time.
Please keep in mind that when I shot the footage the plan was never to make a YouTube video but I figured that perhaps this is a good start to get into it.
Sometime towards the end of 2018 we plan to start travelling full-time and will thus be working towards regular uploads and would focus on providing more useful content to viewers on how to travel independently - as well as share our adventures! Hopefully by then our equipment will be a bit better - everything in this video was shot with compacts and a GoPro.
The story goes like this: Our travels (stretching well over 10 years) have been haphazardly documented thus far with some still only living on our old blog (which haven’t seen much use in a long time). Slowly we’ve moved to video but as yet most of our compilations was never made with public viewing in mind..
We hope to use this channel to dust off and bring some of our old travel videos to a wider audience over time. Thanks for joining us on our adventure!

USAT LIBERTY WRECK
The Liberty wreck is one of the most easily dived wrecks in the world. Located just 25 metres from shore, and resting between 5 - 30 metres deep, it is accessible to all levels and variety of divers: introduction (1st time) divers, beginners, experienced, freedivers, and snorkelers can all enjoy this enchanting wreck.
In 1942, the USAT Liberty, a United States military cargo ship, was torpedoed by the Japanese while stationing off the strait of Lombok. Damaged, the Unites States towed the ship towards Bali, hoping to make it to the northern region of Singaraja, but the ship began to break apart and instead was beached onto the shore of Tulamben.
In 1963, the earthquakes caused by the volcanic eruption of Mount Agung pushed the ship into the sea where it sank onto its side and was forgotten until the early 1980’s.
During the last 50 years it remained underwater, and a marine life of all colors, shapes, and sizes have colonized the 120 metre- long vessel. Night dives are also unforgettable! Each night the numerous Parrot fish arrives on the wreck and sleep there together as one big family (there are about 20 individuals).
Dive into the famous wreck of the USS Liberty also called USAT Liberty. The site can also snorkel for non divers.
Accessibility
In the middle of Tulamben Bay, diving from the shore, only 30 meters from the shore. With 120 meters long, the wreck rests between 5 and 28 meters deep
Fauna
Life is everywhere on the wreck! You'll see humpback parrot fish, jacks, scorpion fish, seahorses, giant barracuda, frog fish, groupers, jacks, angelfish fish, black tip and white tip sharks. If you are very lucky, you can even meet a whale shark, an eagle ray or even a mola!
Flora
The wreckage was fully colonized by coral during its 50 years in Tulamben waters. For nearly 20 years, he was simply stranded on the beach and rusty, the paint gradually freeing itself from the steel plates.

Bali diving highlights by Bali Scuba
This short video shows the highlights of a dive trip in Bali, Indonesia.
The video opens with some of the amazing scenery and cultural life that Bali is famous for - it's not just all about diving here.
On the video you'll see Manta and more manta They are so common here in Bali that we can expect to see them on most trips to Nusa Penida. As you can see from the video they come so close. You'll also see the rich healthy corals and swarms of reef fish that Bali is blessed with. Next on the menu is Mola mola (Oceanic Sunfish). An encounter with one of these gentle giants is unforgettable.
Next you'll be taken to Tulamben in East Bali to take a peek at the wonderful USAT Liberty World War Two shipwreck in Tulamben.
The video also shows the White Tip reef sharks we see at Shark Point and some of the wonderful macro critters found here in Bali.
This short video can't do justice to the wonderful marine life you can find when you dive in Bali. Email us at letsdive@baliscuba.com or drop us a message at Take a look at our website for details of all the dive sites on this video:
Get ready for your Bali diving adventure.
Thanks to Chris Paporakis for this great video.

DIVING IN NUSA PENIDA - MANTA POINT SCUBA DIVE Vlog
We went scuba diving in Nusa Penida Manta Point and got to see the situation for ourselves. The Truth about trash in Nusa Penida is that it comes and goes with the tied. The day we went scuba diving only very little sea plastic waste was to be seen - yet still we were able to collect a lot of waste out of the water
Huge thank you to Octapus Dive Nusa Penida for the trip:

The original Nusa Penida trash story:
Rich Horner filmed himself in water strewn with plastic waste at the renowned dive site Manta Point on the island of Nusa Penida, about 24 kilometres from Denpasar, the regional capital of Bali.
Horner wrote in a social media post on March 3 that the ocean currents had delivered a lovely gift of jellyfish, plankton and mounds of plastic in the environment.
The two-and-a-half minute video shows Horner swimming through the sea pollution and plastic bags, which far outnumbers marine life in the ocean. The debris on the water's surface forms a thick ceiling of waste.
While manta rays regularly visit Manta Point to get cleaned of parasites by smaller fish, Horner spots just one manta in the video, apparently trying to keep below the sea of waste.
Surprise, surprise, there weren't many mantas there at the cleaning station today, he said. They mostly decided not to bother.
Bali has such a big problem with rubbish during the rainy season that it is also dubbed trash season.
The waste ends up on the resort island's beaches, shocking tourists and environmentalists.
Last December, authorities erected a banner on litter-strewn Kuta beach saying: We do apologise for this inconvenience, your visit interrupted by natural phenomenon in the form of annual waste of west wind impact.
Shadikin Akbar, who teaches surfing lessons on the iconic surf beach, said most of the annual deluge of plastic between December and February comes from the densely populated Indonesian island of Java.
From December 5 to 10, 2017, the local government declared a trash emergency on Kuta and Legian beaches.
During those five days the amount of plastic polution that washed up on the beach each day reached over 50 tonnes, said Badung regency head of environment and sanitation Putu Eka Merthawan.
During the monsoon season normally we clean no more than five tonnes daily.
