Europa Passage is a large shopping mall in the Altstadt quarter of Hamburg, Germany, located between the streets of Jungfernstieg and Mönckebergstraße near the lake of Binnenalster. It was opened on 5 October 2006. Within the 5-level mall 125 shops and 27 catering outlets can be found on an overall length of around 160 metres and a space of 30,000 square metres. Another 30,000 square metres of office space are located within the building. The total investment cost of the building amounted to 430 million Euro.
The building is operated by ECE Projektmanagement and owned by Alida Grundstücksgesellschaft mbH & Co KG (Alida Real Estate Company). The passage was designed by Hadi Teherani of BRT Architects. For the construction of the passage a several buildings had to be demolished since 2003. The building excavation had a depth of 24 metres on an area of 12,000 square metres. An 80 cm diaphragm wall up to a depth of 35 metres was used to hold back the ground water from the pit.
Historical buildings close to the excavation had to be protected during construction. The passage is directly connected to Jungfernstieg station by a pedestrian tunnel. Europa Passage won the MIPIM Awards for shopping centres in 2007.

The Jungfernstieg is located in the center of Hamburg, including the Gänsemarkt and Piazza del Municipio. The Hanseatic Quarter is a shopping mall in the Hamburg city center between Post Road and Great bleaching. It was opened on 14 November 1980, offers on 9000 m² of space for 60 shops. Owner is the Allianz Life Insurance Company. The building complex yet additionally comprises a hotel, offices, apartments and a parking garage and is a total of 45,000 m² in size.
The Jungfernstieg is a road on the southern shore of the Inner Alster in Hamburg city center. It runs from the Reesendamm bridge to the goose market and is the first street in Germany, the asphalt was (1838). The street name means street of virgins and is derived from custom, or one for which a time, to Sunday, unmarried women of the middle classes were conducted for a walk in the area with their families.
The Reeperbahn is the central street in Hamburg entertainment and red-light district of the district of St. Pauli. It is about 930 meters long and runs from Millerntorplatz to the west up to the Nobistor ( Hamburg-Altona ), where in the King's Road passes. It is considered sinful mile in the world.
The New Wall is a commercial street in Hamburg Neustadt. The road stretches for about 580 meters from the Jungfernstieg with a slight slope in a south-westerly direction to Stadthausbrücke and from Alsterfleet and Bleichenfleet limited. The shopping road is one-way street from Stadthausbrücke. Shops and restaurants are all geared to consumers with high purchasing power. (August 2012). My boyfriend filmed this while I went book shopping. He almost fell asleep as he became too comfortable sitting at the window watching Hamburg life fly by. The book store is called Thalia and it has a good selection of english books. At least it is the best that i have been able to find in Hamburg, Germany.

Hamburg Monckebergstraße Shopping Street (Hamburg Monckebergstrasse)
New York has its Fifth Avenue, Hamburg its Mönckbergstraße. The Mönckebergstraße (locally also called Mö) is one of the main shopping streets in Hamburg, Germany. Monckebergstrasse is located in Hamburg-Altstadt, running some 800 m in east-west-direction between the Hauptbahnhof at Steintorwall and the Rathaus at Rathausmarkt. It is named after Johann Georg Mönckeberg, mayor of Hamburg in the 1890s and 1900s.
On the Mönckebergstraße you will find stores such as Karstadt, Kaufhof, Karstadt Sport, Saturn, C&A, Peek & Cloppenburg, Anson's, Appelrath & Cupper, Thomas-I-Punkt and H&M.
