Wreaths Across America Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery Procession and Ceremony
The Texas Patriot Guard Riders was invited to participate in the “Wreaths Across America Procession to Ft. Sam National Cemetery”, it is being led by the American Legion Riders and the Patriot Guard Riders of San Antonio and others.
40,000 Wreaths were laid on the Headstones at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio Texas.

The guest speaker for the ceremony was retired U.S. Army Col. Sylvia Sanchez, a San Antonio native.

SAN ANTONIO NATIONAL CEMETERY
SAN ANTONIO NATIONAL CEMETERY is located at 717 Paso Hondo Street, approximately a mile or two from downtown San Antonio.
It was established in 1867 and is the oldest National Cemetery in Texas. It is the final resting place for Soldiers posted on the Western frontier, Veterans of the Civil War, the Indian Wars, and the Spanish American War. Many Medal of Honor winners are interred here, (13).
There are more than 280 African American soldiers from the 9th and 10th Cavalry, whom were known as Buffalo Soldiers, by the Native Americans, whom they fought in the Indian Wars.
This cemetery also contains the remains of over 300 unknown soldiers buried in a common grave.
Brigadier General John L. Bullis, is also interred here. He was a veteran of the Civil War, was twice captured by the Confederate Army, was the leader of the Black Seminole Indian Scouts, during the Indian Wars, and was a veteran of the Spanish America War.
