INCREDIBLE PIZZA TOSSING | FRENCH RIVIERA | OLD TOWN NICE | PARIS TO NICE
Dan and Chelle decide they won't be able to handle the cold in Switzerland, so they head south to the French Riviera. Nice, France is their stop and they enjoy some tripod photography and tasty pizza in the narrow streets of Old Town. They have an incredible pizza tossing chef that made the pizza dough and put on quite the show! Paris to Nice was a good idea!

Travel to The French Riviera (Nice and Monaco) with Monica Walton | Jetsetter.com
With its Michelin-starred restaurants, yacht-filled marinas, and idyllic beaches, the French Riviera is the definition of glamorous. Here's how JS tastemaker Monica Walton spent a weekend in Nice and Monaco. Don’t forget to subscribe!
Nice, France
Nice, on the southern coast of France, is the perfect introduction to the French Riviera. It’s both easy to get to and even easier to explore once you arrive. Tourists never tire of its year-round sunshine and glorious water views, and you could spend all morning and afternoon hitting the charming restaurants and shops lining the Promenade des Anglais.
DO
The beaches that border Nice are some of the most iconic seafronts not just along the Côte d'Azur but in all of France. One of the best spots to take in the views and the sun is the pebble-strewn Plage Publique de l'Opera. Located near the Opera House and Castle Hill, it features both a wide stretch that's open to the public and a private beach-restaurant that keeps the crowds at bay.
SHOP
Set aside an afternoon (or more) to explore the colorful Cours Saleya flower market, in the heart of town near the Old Port. Here, stalls brim with fresh blooms, fruits and vegetables, and spices. On Mondays, the area transforms into a flea market peddling arts and crafts and antiques. No matter what day you visit, Cours Saleya is a perfect spot for picking up souvenirs and getting an authentic taste of local life.

Cannes on the French Riviera
We are exploring more of the beautiful French Riviera traveling by train from Nice to Cannes. Touring strategies can be summed up in a nutshell: walk from the train station to the waterfront, stroll along the shore to the Old Town, eat and shop, then meander back to the station through the pedestrian area. It’s an easy four-block walk from the Cannes train station to the shore where you can have a peek at the high life exemplified in the extraordinary hotel palaces lining the grand Boulevard de la Croisette. Cannes is one of the most famous of the towns along the French Riviera, especially noted because of the International Film Festival held here every year in the month of May. The sidewalks all around the festival hall are dimpled with many impressions from the big stars – their handprints and footprints and signatures. They flock here during the festival to show off and promote their latest flicks. The main boulevard of Cannes is the Croisette, which is like any luxury Boulevard in Europe – it’s lined with the big fancy hotels. And there's the beach on one side and a row of luxury shops -- you’ve got Louis Vuittin, and Valentino, Chanel and so on, and those top hotels. So this is one of the great neighborhoods of the city that you just absolutely must come and spend some time at.
We continue walking a few more blocks on this beautiful Rue d'Antibes. It's just a great street and yet you might easily miss it in your visit to Cannes because it's not that waterfront boulevard with the great hotels and the Film Festival Hall, and it's far from the old town about a mile down the other side – so be sure to look for this street because you'll enjoy taking a stroll here. By this point you have seen all the main highlights of Cannes except for the Old Town which is up on the hill. Now we are entering the old town of Cannes. It's just up on this hill at the end of the road, overlooking the boat harbor. You don't want to miss this, so when you are in Cannes be sure to walk down to the end of town, it just takes 15 to 20 minutes to walk down here, and have a little stroll through old Cannes. The Old Town’s pedestrian zone gently rises via staircases and the upward sloping pathway of Rue Saint-Antoine to the top of the small hill, and that provides a great view looking back across the boat harbor to the beaches, elegant hotels, marina and Festival Hall down below.

Villa Ephrussi de ROTHSCHILD | Cap-Ferrat | French Riviera
The opulent Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is located on the breathtaking French Riviera, at the top of Cap Ferrat. It was built between 1905-1912 during the 'Belle Époque' by the Baroness Beatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, the daughter of the wealthy banker Baron Alphonse de Rothschild. The villa was designed in the style of an Italian palazzo, with a facade of delicate pastel pink. The villa houses a vast collection of over 5,000 works of art (mosaics, Gobelins tapestries, paintings by the great masters, porcelain and furniture). The villa is surrounded by beautiful gardens in French, Spanish and Japanese style. Musical fountains bring the French garden to life every 20 minutes.
On her death in 1934, the Baroness donated the property and its collections to the Académie des Beaux Arts division of the Institut de France and it is now open to the public.
Entrance fee: €14
How to get there - The Villa is located 10km from Nice and 15km from Monaco in Saint - Jean - Cap - Ferrat. From Nice you can get bus 81 from Place Garibaldi and it stops right in front of the Villa.
