Longest Bridge: Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge.
Believe it or not, this 164.8 km (102.4 mi) viaduct is part of world's longest HSR line—Beijing-Shanghai Line in which three long bridges along this line listed in the 10 longest bridges in the world. Viaducts are common for high-speed train for a smooth ride on uneven terrain.

Highest Bridge: Sidu River Bridge.
This is the world's highest bridge by a maximum vertical drop distance from deck which is about 496 m (1,627 ft). Commissioned in November 2009 with construction cost of 720 million Yuan. Located in southern part of China with plenty of deep gorges and steep hills, many similar rails and highway bridges were highly ranked in this category.

Longest Railway Tunnel: Guangzhou Metro Line 3.
Commissioned in 2010 after 5 years of construction, it is longer only by 3.3 km (2 mi) of that newly opened Gotthard Base Tunnel in second place. However there are longer tunnels but most of them function as water transfer.

Wild SHANGHAI STREET FOOD in City God Temple + Yu Gardens Tour | Shanghai, China
In April of 2019, I had the pleasure of visiting China for the second time in my life. I spent 12 days exploring and eating my way through the cities of Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou. I had the time of my life and I can’t wait to share my adventures with you!

My second full day in China continued in Shanghai when I met up with my friend Daniel from Newman Tours. They offer incredible tours in cities all over China. We started our adventure in the Old Town of Shanghai at the beautiful Yu Gardens.
Our journey began at a replica of one of the four original entrances of the old town. We saw a statue of a mythological creature with a very interesting backstory outside of a jewelry store.
Our first stop was a place selling deep-fried local crabs. There are salty and spicy varieties. I went with the spicy one and dug into the meat in the middle. It was really nice and crispy. They were so meaty and delicious. I could eat everything on it, but the middle had so much meat in it!
Then we headed off to try the original xiaolongbao from 1900. To get there, we had to pass through a temple and marketplace area. We passed lots of street food vendors along the way. These xiaolongbao contain crab and pork. They’re much bigger than the regular xiaolongbao. You have to pop them with a straw to drink the soup before you eat them!
The soup inside was so hot. There was a lot of it inside! Then I grabbed my chopsticks and dove in. They’re huge and much thicker than the other xiaolongbaos I’d had, but it was so delicious!
We continued on to Yu Market, which has been around since the 16th century, and Yu Garden. It’s very clean and feels like an open-air mall. The temple architecture is stunning and there are so many things to see!
We headed on to a restaurant that sells over 100 dishes, including sweet and sour soups, dumplings, sticky rice, snails, pot stickers, eel, squid, and much more!
I went with some glutinous sticky rice balls with red bean paste inside. It was too hot and was super sticky and kind of slimy on the outside. I loved the red bean paste inside. Daniel brought me some coconut juice from Hainan Island near Vietnam. The juice was delicious and refreshing. It was straight coconut juice!
Then we crossed the zigzag bridge, which zigs and zags to lost ghosts, which were traditionally thought to only be able to travel in a straight line. I love learning about history. Ahead of us was a tea house.
There was a statue of the goddess of the lotuses. You make a wish and try to toss your coin onto the lotus pad she stands on. If I get it, I get two wishes. I got one inside and wished for a million subscribers!
Next, we went into Yu Garden, which was beautiful and dates back to the Ming Dynasty. It’s thought this temple was built using stolen money from taxpayers! There’s also an ancient rockery or rock garden, which is quite beautiful! I learned so much from Daniel!
There are lots of doorways in the garden. We reached an area where the path forked; long ago, one path was taken by the men and the other by the concubines! Newman Tours provides an audio guide for Yu Gardens that really helps you out!
Coming here is like taking a trip back in time. It’s one of the few areas where you can see things that were built in the 16th century. There was a gorgeous gate with two huge dragons with three fingers. From there, we fed the fish. There are lots of carp there and they’re really big!
We also saw a large rock that was meant to be a gift to for the emperor, but it fell into the river after it was placed on a boat to be transported to the capital. It was fished out hundreds of years later and moved to the garden.
To wrap up, Daniel gave me the opportunity to see my future by using some ancient Chinese fortune sticks. You shake the container containing the sticks until one comes out. On the stick is a fortune that corresponds with one in a booklet. You only want one; if two come out, it means the gods are laughing at you!
I made a different wish and shook out the number 9. It told me to be honest, straight, and true if I win success in life, otherwise I would fail!

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Central Commission
for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) made an announcement on
the last day of the year of the snake.
They have placed former vice secretary and mayor of Nanjing
City Ji Jianye under investigation on severe discipline violations.
Recently, Jiangsu's richest businessman Zhu Xingliang,
a close friend of Ji, was also arrested.
At the critical moment of tiger hunting by Xi Jinping,
who was the real target behind the arrest of Ji and Zhu?

The CCDI announced on its website that, Ji Jianye was
found to abuse his power for personal gains.
This involved severe disciplinary violations
and economic crimes.
He was therefore dismissed from the party and will be
handed over to the judicial system.
Since July 2001, Ji Jianye worked in Yangzhou City for 8 years
as interim mayor, mayor and then party secretary.
During that period, he made excessive infrastructure
constructions, and became known by Yangzhou people as
the Demolition Mayor.
After he transferred to Nanjing, he was again secretly
named Ji Excavator and Bulldozer Mayor by residents.
Since being detained and interrogated after October 16, 2013,
Ji's scandals were exposed on the Internet one after another.

his typist mistress to deputy director of Yangzhou's

On January 27, Zhu Xingliang, Jiangsu's richest man worth
18.9 billion Yuan ($3.12 billion) was arrested for bribery.
His company received orders from large-scale projects in
Ji Jianye's home cities of Kunshan, Yangzhou and Nanjing.
Hong Kong's Trend Magazine revealed last August that,
Zhu Xingliang's company had grown at astonishing speed.
They took decoration work of Bird's Nest National Stadium,
Beijing's National Grand Theatre and The Great Hall of the
People's Jiangsu lobby.
Zhu achieved this simply from his personal link with former
Politburo Standing Committee member Zhou Yongkang.
According to a recentl article by Hong Kong's Open Magazine,
the CCDI pushed very hard in investigation of Zhou Yongkang,
known as the No. 2 Special Case.
Furthermore, the No.1 Special Case which is directed
against Zeng Qinghong, will come out soon.
Sources further revealed that, the investigation showed
Zeng Qinghong's family was involved in many corruption
cases of Zhou Yongkang and his followers.
As a leader of Jiang Zemin's key strategist, Zeng Qinghong
assisted Jiang in becoming former head of the CCP.
As the supreme personnel manager, Zeng also played
important roles in many personnel decisions even during
Hu Jintao and Xi Jinping's eras.
Political commentator Jin Zhentao said, after Bo Xilai and
Zhou Yongkang's coup plan was revealed, Zeng Qinghong
was finally exposed as the operator of Jiang's faction.
Zeng and Zhou are in the same boat.
The current CCP leader group is targeting Jiang's whole
group in the name of anti-corruption.

However, the article only shares materials about families of

Qinghong's family in commemorative activities of his
father's 100th birthday or Run Run Shaw's funeral.

Bus driver attacked by passenger drives off bridge (15 dead)
A heated quarrel between a bus driver and a passenger was to blame for the tragic crash which killed more than a dozen in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on Oct. 28, local police said at a news briefing on Friday.
Authorities confirmed that at least 13 people have been killed after the bus veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided with an oncoming car before smashing through roadside barriers and flying off a bridge in Chongqing's Wanzhou District last Sunday.
Newly-released footage from the bus' on-board surveillance camera shows how a passenger appeared to lash out at the driver who in turn retaliated, seconds before the bus crashed and plunged into the Yangtze River.
According to police investigations, the 48-year-old female passenger surnamed Liu had missed her stop, and asked the driver to stop on the road. After the driver, surnamed Ran, refused to halt the bus, Liu then became enraged and struck Ran with her cell phone before the driver lost control of the vehicle.
Police believe that both Ran and Liu are responsible for the deadly incident since their physical altercation posed a serious threat to public security, violated China’s criminal law, and both are being held accountable for causing the tragedy.
A previous investigation found that 15 people including the driver were on board the bus at the time. A total of 13 bodies were retrieved and identified by Thursday, while two others remain missing. The driver of the car which was hit by the bus was said to have sustained some injuries.
