Day 23 - Dinosaur Museum
At last we had arrived at the dinosaur museum. Unfortunately we arrived late, so we had just over an hour to see the whole place. I had been here two times previously, and the place has not changed much. I still had fun nonetheless :) This is one of the best dinosaur museums in the world.

Echizen Daibutsu (the Great Buddha) -Bhutanese Family in Katsuyama City, Fukui Prefecture 2-

As we introduced in our previous video that I visited Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum in Katsuyama City, Fukui Prefecture with Mr. Ugyen Dorji and his family. After we left the museum, we headed to Seidai-ji Temple to see Echizen Daibutsu (the Great Buddha of Daishizan Seidai-ji Temple).
The Great Buddha of Daishizan Seidai-ji Temple is 2 meters taller than the Great Buddha of Nara!
Even the Great Buddha is very big and tall, Mr. Ugyen Dorji’s son who is only 2 years old didn’t even get overwhelmed and/or scared. As soon as he walked into the Hall of the Great Buddha, he was running around with smile. He put his hands together and prayed respectfully.
Gojyuu-no-tou (five-story pagoda) is about 75 meters tall. There is an elevator available in the building, so visitors can go up easily and enjoy the scenery from the top floor.

On April 14th, the annual Echizen Historical Parade was held in Fukui city, and I was lucky enough to participate along with a few of the Fukui Reporters!

Kids Cheer Dance / Extra Edition -Happiness Concert at Bhutan Museum Fukui on February 3rd, 2018-

On February 3rd 2018, “Happiness Concert” was held at Bhutan Museum Fukui in the central part of Fukui City.
One of the participants of the concert that day was a kids cheer dance group. They performed cheerfully with big smiles!
After they danced, they introduced themselves with their goals for the year (2018), one of the members played the piano, and another one made speech in sign language.
“Kimuyan”, a deaf guitarist watched the speech, he smiled and told them that he understood it well.
For “Happiness Concert”, no experience necessary.
Any level or style is welcome!

A Japanese paper formative artist in Fukui City, Kozue Kato's personal exhibition is being held at Fukui Kougeisha Craft Gallery for the first time in two years. Her works range from variety goods to big pieces. She says that she is able to create works that she enjoys herself more freely than ever. Everyone is a researcher in Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum

They opened the open-air museum on the hill in front of their fossil excavation site in July, 2014 as the museum branch.
It takes 20 minutes by shuttle bus from FPDM main building.
There you can see the exhibition that you can feel reality of excavation and the visitors can experience excavation by breaking stones actually on the excavation.

You can see the remains of this kiln that has been brought down over the generations since its original construction in 1826 by Den’enmon Toyoda who had intended to revive the tradition of Kokutani pottery. In the main hall, famous Kutaniyaki works are displayed, and along with visitors being able to try painting and using the potter’s wheel, porcelain created by Kutaniyaki artists are also sold.

福井市 養浩館庭園 Yokokan Garden Fukui city ライトアップ Lit up
3月10日と11日の夜限定の養浩館庭園のライトアップを見に行ってきました。とってもキレイでした！養浩館庭園は福井市の中心部にあります。江戸時代の福井藩主・松平家の別邸でした。その優美な建物と庭園は、江戸中期を代表するもので、アメリカの庭園専門誌が選ぶ「日本庭園ランキング」では常に上位に入っています。
I went to the Yokokan Garden. It was first time to see lit up! It was amazing! Yokokan Garden is located in the center of Fukui City. It was a secondary residence of the Matsudaira clan, lords of the Fukui Domain. The combination of the villa’s graceful architecture and its exquisite garden is the best representation of gardens made in the 18C. It has constantly placed highly in the Japanese garden rankings published by an American gardening magazine.
