Cambridge Ontario Downtown Drive: Preston, Galt and Hespeler. Today we’re going to take a drive through Cambridge Ontario and have a look at the cores of Preston, Galt, and Hespeler Village. We’ll take a look at a few hotspots that help make Waterloo Region so great and I’ll highlight them as we go.
Cambridge Ontario is a good size but this video will help give you an idea of what Cambridge has to offer.
The real estate here in Cambridge Ontario Canada has been booming as of late as well due in large part to the city’s proximity to a lot of major highways like the 401. Keep watching as I try to highlight just a bit of what makes Cambridge so great!

HISTORIC GALT - CAMBRIDGE ONTARIO - 4K
Exploring the beauty of Cambridge Ontario, this is Galt which dates back to the late 1700s. Galt is also known for being the filming grounds of the hit series The Handmaids Tale.

Cambridge, Ontario: Driving Tour Of Galt, Hespeler and Preston (March, 2018)
Cambridge, Ontario came to be in 1973 with the amalgamation of Galt, Hespeler and Preston. On March 10, 2018, we created this video driving tour of those three centres. The video starts with Galt, before touring Hespeler then, finally, Preston.
Cambridge is, in turn, part of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo that includes the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo. We have previously done driving tour videos of those two cities:

The population of Cambridge is around 130,000 with the whole Waterloo Region coming in at around 535,000.
Galt is the largest community within Cambridge and was settled in 1816. It was incorporated as a town in 1857 and as a city in 1915. Located on the Grand River, Galt is very European looking with quaint bridges on the river and churches with tall steeples.
Hespeler is located at the far northeast of the city and was the last to be settled (1830). Hespeler was incorporated as a town in 1901 and has the Speed River running through its centre.
Preston was settled in 1805 and was incorporated as a town in 1900. This section is located just south of highway 401, near the junction with highway 8.

Cambridge is broken down into three major areas, Hespeler, Galt, and Preston, each with their own unique histories. We’ll get into those histories a bit more when we visit each location respectively but as a whole, Cambridge has so much to offer residents that few people are aware of. There’s loads of trails and parks with gorgeous scenery and tons of wildlife; beautiful architecture; golf courses; schools; some of the region’s and even the country’s best restaurants; and a whole lot more. The real estate here has been booming as of late as well due in large part to the city’s proximity to a lot of major highways like the 401. Keep watching as I try to highlight just a bit of what makes Cambridge so great!

There are some very exciting things happening in Downtown Galt Cambridge Ontario for creatives and the community with the transformation of the downtown area. The new Idea Exchange Digital Library is on the way and with other amazing new projects for innovation and technology in the community it's an exciting time to be in the tech business in Cambridge Ontario. The Business Development in Cambridge has been fantastic the past two years and I can't wait to see what the Gaslight District development in downtown Galt at Southworks is like. It's a good time to work in the tech industry in Cambridge Ontario.

A Drive through downtown Cambridge (Galt) - for those Unfamiliar with the area :)
Grand River Historic Galt, Cambridge Canada
Cambridge is replete with Ontario history, natural and human. Dolostone creates rapids on the Grand River at the Galt Parkhill Road bridge (1933). The 1837 Parkhill dam provided water power for the 1843 Dickson gristmill, now a restaurant, and the 1897 Turnbull Knitting Mill; its ruins were reworked as Mill Race Park (1977). The 1879 Credit River Railway bridge was the first large bridge entirely manufactured in Canada.

This video was shot on Monday March 2, 2015 in Galt City Centre City of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. This historic charming city is only 30 minute drive from downtown Hamilton. Hamilton can learn something preserving about heritage buildings from this city.
Cambridge (2011 population 126,748) is a city located in Southern Ontario at the confluence of the Grand and Speed rivers in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. It is an amalgamation of the City of Galt, the towns of Preston and Hespeler, and the hamlet of Blair.Galt covers the largest portion of Cambridge, making up the southern half of the city. Preston and Blair are located on the western side of the city, while Hespeler is in the most northeasterly section of Cambridge.
The City of Cambridge is one of the fastest growing areas in the country. It is strategically located astride highway 401 in southwestern Ontario, part of Canada's Technology Triangle. With a multicultural mix and a strong foundation of support services, Cambridge has a diverse economic base.

Galt Cambridge - Ontario - Nice old city with European Taste-travelling in Canada
Galt - Cambridge is about 60 km from downtown Toronto. The city offers a taste and scenery of an old European City. There are lots of classic churches and buildings in the surrounding areas. Many parking spots are available as well. It is good for walking around during summer. One of the good way to travel in Canada.
