Please share and enjoy. Thank you.
There was another castle that we were meaning togo and see, but we ended up at the wrong place. This castle is located at Garipce Village.
The views were stunning and I am always interested in historic places.

RUMELI HISARI # My second video uploaded tour in Istanbul
Rumeli Castle
Rumeli Castle (Rumeli Hisarı) is an Ottoman fortress dating to 1452. It was built by Ottoman sultan Mehmed II (Mehmed the Conqueror) in preparation of the conquest of Constantinople. The castle is situated on the shore of the Bosphorus Strait at its narrowest point with approximately 660 meters. It is just opposite of Anadolu Castle (Anadolu Hisarı) that is another Ottoman castle built in 1394 by Bayezid I. Both Anadolu Castle and Rumeli Castle were built by Ottoman sultans in order to prevent military and economic aid to the Byzantine Empire coming from the north, Black Sea. Thus, Bosphorus strait connects Black Sea with Marmara Sea.

Bosphorus Strait Cruise, Istanbul 4k | Turkey ????????
A cruise on the Bosphorus Strait is probably the most overlooked Istanbul tourist attraction.
Bosphorus Strait is an internationally significant waterway located in northwestern Turkey. It forms part of the continental boundary between Europe and Asia, and divides Turkey by separating Anatolia from Thrace. It connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara, and, by extension via the Dardanelles, the Aegean and Mediterranean seas.
Bosphorus comes from a Thracian word which means passage of the cow, deriving from the legend of Io who was one of many lovers of Zeus.
Bosphorus in Turkish is known as Bogazici, meaning inner strait. Since the ancient times, it held always an important role because of its strategic location, being the only passage from the Black Sea into the Mediterranean, along with the Dardanelles Strait. Especially during the Cold War, the straits were crucial for the Soviet navy.
Bosphorus is a very busy waterway with many ships and oil tankers going through it, as well as local fishing and ferries go to the Asian side back and forth. Around 48.000 ships pass through this strait annually, three times denser than the Suez Canal traffic and four times denser than the Panama Canal. Approximately 55 million tones of oil are shipped through the strait each year.
There are three suspension bridges on the Bosphorus connecting Europe to Asia (or vice versa). The first one is known as Bosphorus Bridge and was opened on 29th October 1973 between Beylerbeyi and Ortakoy neighborhoods. This bridge's name was changed into Martyrs of July 15th dedicated to the victims of the coup attempt on 15th of July 2016. It's 1074 meters (1175 yards) long between two pillars, has 6 lanes, 165 meters (540 feet) height of piers. The second one is known as Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge (or FSM Bridge shortly) and was opened in 3rd July 1988 between Anadolu Hisari and Rumeli Hisari neighborhoods. This one is 1090 meters (1192 yards) long, has 8 lanes, and is 65 meters high from the water surface. The FSM bridge is a part of TEM highway (Trans European Motorway) between Ankara and Edirne provinces. The third one is known as Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge (or YSS Bridge shortly) and was opened in 26th of August 2016 between Garipce and Poyrazkoy neighborhoods along the shores of the strait. It's one of the longest and highest suspension bridges in the World.

Flying over the Bosphorus Strait Yavuz Sultan Selim Northern Bridge Istanbul
Flying over the the Bosphorus Strait Istanbul Yavuz Sultan Selim Northern Bosphorus Bridge linking Istanbul in Asia with Europe
The Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge (Turkish: Yavuz Sultan Selim Köprüsü) is a bridge for rail and motor vehicle transit over the Bosphorus strait, to the north of two existing suspension bridges in Istanbul, Turkey. It was initially named the Third Bosphorus Bridge (with Bosphorus Bridge being the First Bosphorus Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge the Second Bosphorus Bridge). It is about 5 km (3.1 mi) north of the Bosphorus Bridge. The bridge is located near the Black Sea entrance of the Bosphorus strait, between Garipçe in Sarıyer on the European side and Poyrazköy in Beykoz on the Asian side.[2]
The foundation stone laying ceremony was held on 29 May 2013.[3] The bridge was opened to traffic on 26 August 2016.[4][5]
At 322 m (1,056 ft), the bridge is one of the tallest bridges in the world.[6] It is, after the Millau Viaduct, the second-tallest bridge in the world of any type.[7] The bridge is also one of the world's widest suspension bridges,[citation needed] at 58.4 metres (192 ft) wide.[1]
Selim I (Ottoman Turkish: سليم اول, Modern Turkish: Birinci Selim; 1470/1 – September 1520), known as Selim the Grim or Selim the Resolute[2] (Turkish: Yavuz Sultan Selim), was the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1512 to 1520.[1] His reign is notable for the enormous expansion of the Empire, particularly his conquest between 1516 and 1517 of the entire Mamluk Sultanate of Egypt, which included all of the Levant, Hejaz, Tihamah, and Egypt itself. On the eve of his death in 1520, the Ottoman Empire spanned about 576,900 sq mi (1,494,000 km2), having grown by seventy percent during Selim's reign.[1]
Selim's conquest of the Middle Eastern heartlands of the Muslim world, and particularly his assumption of the role of guardian of the pilgrimage routes to Mecca and Medina, established the Ottoman Empire as the most prestigious of all Sunni Muslim states. His conquests dramatically shifted the empire's geographical and cultural center of gravity away from the Balkans and toward the Middle East. By the eighteenth century, Selim's conquest of the Mamluk Sultanate had come to be romanticized as the moment when the Ottomans seized leadership over the rest of the Muslim world, and consequently Selim is popularly remembered as the first legitimate Ottoman Caliph, although stories of an official transfer of the caliphal office from the Abbasids to the Ottomans were a later invention.[3]

“Yürüyecek yer yok her taraf pislik içinde”
