Ronda, Spain - El Tajo Gorge & Puente Nuevo Bridge
The Puente Nuevo Bridge is also called the New Bridge since it is the newer of the 3 bridges that span the El Tajo Gorge (and Guadalevín River). It is a stunning piece of work and the views from it are spectacular, as are the views below looking up toward the bridge. We spent 3 wonderful days in Ronda and this was definitely one of the major highlights of the trip.

Kornmarkt (Corn market)
This market square, as its name implies, was once used for the collection and trade of agricultural goods. It is home to the Madonna statue, and delivers a wonderful view of the castle. This statue was erected in 1718 by the Jesuits, to try to motivate the people of Heidelberg to switch to Catholicism. The Count Elector had been, since 1685, trying to get his subjects to come back to the Catholic faith, and the Jesuits were very supportive; they published leaflets, organized pilgrimages, and put up other statues of the Virgin Mary as well. The Count, try as he may, was unable to persuade many of the Protestants, who chose instead to emigrate to other areas of the country rather than changing their beliefs.
Today, the Madonna still stands in the Kornmarkt, where she is appreciated not only for her religious meaning, but her artistic as well.

2000 Year Old Aqueduct in Spain | Europe From Above | National Geographic UK
Segovia is home to many historic treasures, such as a famous Roman aqueduct that is so ancient it is hard to believe it's still standing. The 2000 year old watercourse, which looks like a victorian railway bridge, divides the city's central plaza. Viewed from above, it appears impossibly slim. However, the Romans built it to carry cool fresh water from the surrounding hills into the heart of the city. Along this narrow stone channel is one of the best preserved Roman aqueducts found anywhere in the world.

The history of tourism in Germany goes back to cities and landscapes being visited for education and recreation. From the late 18th century onwards, cities like Dresden, Munich, Weimar and Berlin were major stops on a European Grand tour.
Spas and Seaside resorts on the North and Baltic Sea (e.g. Rugia and Usedom islands, Heiligendamm, Norderney and Sylt islands) particularly developed during the 19th and early 20th century, when major train routes were built to connect the seaside spas to urban centers. An extense bathing and recreation industry materialized in Germany around 1900. At rivers and close to natural landscapes (along the Middle Rhine valley and in Saxon Switzerland for example) many health spas, hotels and recreational facilities were established since the 19th century.
Since the end of World War II tourism has expanded greatly, as many tourists visit Germany to experience a sense of European history and the diverse German landscape. The country features 14 national parks, including the Jasmund National Park, the Vorpommern Lagoon Area National Park, the Müritz National Park, the Wadden Sea National Parks, the Harz National Park, the Hainich National Park, the Saxon Switzerland National Park, the Bavarian Forest National Park and the Berchtesgaden National Park. In addition, there are 14 Biosphere Reserves, as well as 98 nature parks.
The countryside has a pastoral aura, while the bigger cities exhibit both a modern and classical feel. Small and medium-sized cities often preserved their historical appearance and have old towns with remarkable architectural heritage - these are called Altstadt in German.

Travel Spain - Visiting Loarre Castle
Take a tour of Loarre Castle in Spain -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
Primarily constructed in the 11th and 12th centuries the strategically significant Loarre castle stands on the once border of the Christian and Muslim worlds.
The constructions outer walls and eight towers date from the 13th and 14th centuries, and during the 20th century extensive repairs were made to both the castles interior and exterior.
Two towers and the chapel of the castle have survived their almost millennium long history and today are fortified by the later built walls.
The five story Homage Tower was the buildings prime means of defense and was connected to the other tower by a bridge.
The Tower of the Queen stands three stories tall and is the elaborate of the two; the arched windows, exaggerated columns, and the elegant crowns of the pillars make this tower a sublime work of art.
This imposing and immense fortress transport visitors to a time of ancient medieval warfare and the constant threat of attack.
Places to see in ( Andalusia - Spain ) Puente Nuevo Bridge
Places to see in ( Andalusia - Spain ) Puente Nuevo Bridge
The Puente Nuevo is the newest and largest of three bridges that span the 120-metre-deep chasm that carries the Guadalevín River and divides the city of Ronda, in southern Spain. The architect was José Martin de Aldehuela, who died in Málaga in 1802. The chief builder was Juan Antonio Díaz Machuca.
The construction of the Puente Nuevo Bridge (the one that stands today) was started in 1759 and took 34 years to build. There is a chamber above the central arch that was used for a variety of purposes, including as a prison. During the 1936-1939 civil war both sides allegedly used the prison as a torture chamber for captured opponents, killing some by throwing them from the windows to the rocks at the bottom of the El Tajo gorge. The chamber is entered through a square building that was once the guard-house. It now contains an exhibition describing the bridge's history and construction.
Construction of the previous bridge started in 1735, this was the first attempt to span the gorge at this height and was completed by the architects Jose Garcia and Juan Camacho using a single arch design. Unfortunately, this bridge was quickly and poorly built and in 1741 the entire bridge collapsed resulting in the death of 50 people.

This is a video guide to the journey from Tangier in Morocco to Madrid in Spain, via the FRS fast ferry from Tangier to Tarifa and Renfe's morning 'Altaria' train from Algeciras to Madrid Puerta de Atocha.
The video shows the famous Continental Hotel in Tangier, the ferry and train interiors and the scenery along the way. Note that the train segment is the same as that on the Gibraltar-Madrid video, so don't bother watching both train parts!

This is a general summary of the services on offer between Morocco and Spain, for live information select from our Fare Search.
Morocco is a country in North Africa, south of Spain, with a coastline on both the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
As one of the most diverse nations on the continent, it’s easy to see why Morocco has long been a popular holiday destination. The dunes of the Sahara Desert and the highest mountains in North Africa dominate the south, while a ruggedly beautiful coastline and lush plains lie to the north
Spain is a beautiful and diverse country located in the south west of Europe. As a country well known for its beaches, the geographical and cultural diversity in Spain often comes across as a surprise to its visitors.
This exotic country really has it all, from lush meadows, green valleys and hills to snowy mountains and almost desert zones in the South. No wonder Spain ranks the third most visited European country.
In terms of getting to Spain by ferry, with the North, East and South sides of the country facing the Sea, there’s no shortage of options. From the UK, there are regular scheduled crossings available and though the crossings on offer are long, the ships are cruise like in standard which makes for an extremely pleasant trip. The same applies to the connection across the Mediterranean Sea from Italy.
The term Afro European or Afro-European refers to Europeans who trace at least part of their ancestry to Sub-Saharan Africa, or former European colonies in Africa in general

At that time, women wearing colorful clothes and flowers in their hair pass. Everyone is dressed up and even a man is decorating flowers. When I looked closely, they all dressed in similar clothes. The earrings and frills decorated with polka dots are representative of Spain. These are the festivals in Andalusia. I can only see it in southern Spain. Grandma is no exception. It is said to be a festival of Malaga once a year. Ikot is called Biss Nagara, and it is a flower of Malaga. Take the scent once. It is a flower that symbolizes Malaga. This is the flower of Malaga. I only see it once a year. We have to wait until next year. I have to wait until next year so I have to enjoy my best for 9 days of festivals. Flowers and polka dots are the basic dress codes, but they are decorating themselves. Those who filled the streets from daylight are full of excitement. Throughout the streets, people who naturally leave their bodies to music. We take on the festival as much as possible. As one part of the festival is over, a sweeping mob that took up the police has appeared, and massive street cleaning begins. People who are demonstrating on one side of the festival are also noticeable. It is a protest against animal cruelty. What we want is a bloodless festival. I want a festival without animal cruelty. The reason for the demonstration is that six bullfights are being slaughtered per day for 8 to 9 days. That's also true when there are no bullfights. We think this is part of the protest against slaughter. I hope the diversity of people's thoughts is a respectable world. The festival continues even in the hot weather of 39 degrees. The streets of Malaga heat up quickly. The heat of the festival is cooling the heat. It is a heat string. Okay, that's perfect. I think this festival is the only festival to really enjoy, not to show off. Everyone enjoys being in a state of unadorned beauty. That's what I enjoy right now and I can feel it in my heart.
