Gljufrafoss, Iceland
Gljúfrafoss or Gljúfrabúi (one who lives in the canyon) is a small waterfall north of the larger falls of Seljalandsfoss in Iceland.
The falls are partially obscured by the cliff rock, but hikers can follow a trail to enter the narrow canyon where the water plummets to a small pool. There is also a winding trail nearby and a wooden staircase to enable sightseers to climb roughly halfway up and view the falls from another perspective.

The waterfall drops 60 m (197 ft) and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull. One of the interesting things about this waterfall is that visitors can walk behind it into a small cave.

Iceland Waterfalls 2012 (Gulfoss, Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss)
This is a montage of video shot during our May 2012 trip to Iceland. Iceland has absolutely spectacular waterfalls. The three highlighted in this video are Gulfoss, Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss along with Geysir (well, actually Strokkur geyser I think). It was very windy the two days we traveled into the country, so I decided to put the video to music to cover up the blowing wind sound the camera picked up. Maynard... I hope you don't mind.
Between the tour of Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, the waterfalls in the southern region of the country, whale watching trip, horseback riding on Icelandic horses and the hot water spas... I was a great vacation. Highly recommend Iceland for a visit!!

La cascade Gluggafoss (Merkjafoss) est située en Islande.
Facile d'accès et peu fréquenté. Une autre belle cascade située dans un décor enchanteur.
Du haut de la falaise, l'eau s'écoule dans un étroit passage, puis vient se fracasser dans un petit bassin. Elle poursuit son cours et s'infiltre entre les roches pour former plusieurs autres petites cascades.
A proximité, le sommet des montagnes est encore enneigé, ce qui apporte un cachet vraiment particulier à cet endroit.
