WILD POLICE CHASE That Ends In A HORRIFYING Crash
A police chase has ended late Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Orange Grove and Holly Street in Pasadena, California, after a long pursuit that started in Bell Gardens.
The grand theft auto suspect stole a work truck and traveled for nearly 45 minutes at a high rate of speed on surface streets in Pasadena, driving on sidewalks and blowing through stop signs and stop lights. At one point, the truck had all four wheels off the ground, with speeds as high as 60 m.p.h.
Original Dixieland Jazz Band Oriental Jazz (same as Sudan) Aeolian Vocalion
Original Dixieland Jazz Band plays Oriental Jazz by composer Dinwitty.
When the ODJB made records two years later in England, this tune was issued as Sudan.
We are hearing the earlier Oriental Jazz, but on November 24, 1917--the super-rare Aeolian Vocalion version.
The reason for making Aeolian Vocalion discs is a bit complicated.
The jazz musicians enjoyed a hit in early 1917 with the first jazz record but were unable to make additional records for the Victor Talking Machine Company in 1917 due to legal problems.
It was a copyright problem--who actually wrote what was issued on the first Victor disc? Victor lawyers needed to work this out, so a halt was put on additional Victor recordings.
So the ensemble turned to a new company making lateral discs. The Aeolian Vocalion company entered the disc market in 1917. Distribution of the discs was very limited.
The OJDB was allowed to return to Victor in 1918.
All ten titles issued from the 1918 sessions were original compositions. Most became jazz standards. Whereas composer credits on the Victor disc in 1917 were given to the ensemble as a collaborative unit (though LaRocca alone was given credit for Barnyard Blues on Aeolian Vocalion 1205), individuals were assigned credit in 1918, LaRocca and Shields taking the lion's share.
The two share credit for At the Jazz Band Ball, Ostrich Walk, and Fidgety Feet. Shields and Ragas share credit for Clarinet Marmalade. LaRocca is credited for Skeleton Jangle and Tiger Rag. LaRocca, Shields, and Ragas are credited for Lazy Daddy. Other members are credited for remaining numbers: Edwards for Sensation, Ragas for Bluin' the Blues, and Sbarbaro for Mourin' Blues.
Turns may have been taken when some composer credits had been assigned. In a letter dated October 11, 1952, Edwards reminded Shields, who lived at 6075 Franklin Avenue in Hollywood, of the unusual manner in which composer credit had been assigned in 1918: If memory serves, you will recall that the names of the numbers were decided at a rehearsal in the 400 Club Room, Reisenweber's, by drawing out of a hat but neither Spargo's [Sbarbaro] nor my name had been drawn. Nick said (as he was in charge of the drawing) that my name should go on Sensation and the one other number that had been forgotten, Mournin [sic] Blues, I suggested that Spargo's name appear on it.
Edwards must have earned far more in royalities for Sensation Rag, covered often by jazz bands (usually as Sensation), than Sbarbaro. Of the 1918 recordings, Mourin' Blues was probably least popular.
When Edwards was drafted in late July 1918, New Orleans musician Emile Christian was hired as a replacement.
After a hiatus from Reisenweber's, on September 7 the band was again featured for a couple of weeks at the 400 Club Room, this time with Bert Kelly's Jazz Band as a second band. The next change in personnel was a result of the influenza of late 1918: pianist Harry Ragas was a flu victim, dying on February 18, 1919.
A telegram sent at 9:29 AM on February 20 from LaRocca to Edwards, who was stationed at Campupton, New York, states, RAGAS PASSED AWAY FEB 18/19 WE ARE MAKING UP A COLLECTION FOR A FLORAL DESIGN TO BE MADE IN NEW ORLEANS AND SENT TO HIS HOME 1018 ST CLAUDE WITH OUR BAND NAME ON IT... Composer-pianist J. Russel Robinson joined. Raised in Indianapolis, he was the first ODJB member not from New Orleans (Sidney Lancefield was the group's pianist too briefly in 1919 to count as a member).
The band traveled to London in March 1919, staying for a year and a half. Brian Rust writes in My Kind of Jazz (Elm Tree Books, 1990), Just as the Original Dixieland Jazz Band was the first band to introduce jazz, at least under that name, to the United States, so it was also the first to bring real jazz to Europe when it arrived in Liverpool on April 1, 1919, to appear in London as an added attraction to the revue Joy Bells at the Hippodrome.
Quickly removed from Joy Bells, allegedly because star attraction George Robey was jealous of applause given the ODJB during its London debut on April 7, the band opened at the Palladium on April 12; weeks later opened at the Martan Club; two months later opened at Rector's; and then opened at the Palais de Danse.
Robinson reported, [W]e played for contract at the Martan Club which was located at 6 and 8 Old Bond Street...but our contract wasn't renewed. The rest of the fellows decided to go and play at the Palais de Dance at Hammersmith, but I thought this was the wrong sort of move and left.
For several months, beginning in October, English pianist Billy Jones was a band member. When he returned to the United States, Robinson became a Palace Trio member.
He rejoined the ODJB. This turned out to be a mixed blessing--he wrote two hits for the band, the catchy Margie and the exotic Palesteena, but the band was no longer breaking new ground.
Robinson was replaced by Frank Signorelli in 1921.

Investigation Discovers Some Hotel Rooms Have Hidden Cameras Installed
A Pennsylvania family was horrified to discover a hidden camera recording them in their hotel room, but are they the only ones being watched? The Wallace family said they found a concealed recording device in their room at a Virginia Beach hotel over Memorial Day weekend. Angela Wallace, her husband and 11-year-old daughter found the camera pointed at the shower during their stay at The Knights Inn and Suites. The Inside Edition investigative team went to the hotel and approached the manager.

Did Whole Foods Market give rise to Industrial Organic Farming?
In this Our Changing Climate environmental video essay, I explore the what role Whole Foods Market plays in the split between industrialized organic farming and local small-scale market gardening and urban farming. I discuss the history and implications of an exploding organic market and offer up some conclusions about where Whole Foods stands and where the organic industry might be going.

F-Zero: X - Custom Track: Apple w/ Night Thunder
I'm back for more GTHS Corporations videos. You'll meet the Apple track in F-Zero X + Expansion Kit in Project64.
The track Apple was designed and created by GTHS Corporations to increase speed and fantastic battles. It was a few hours of creation and I used it in the Expansion Kit itself, since when you return to the save you saved, the track corrupts (for those who have never noticed this in Project64, only in that game). I used Night Thunder because the boost (A), and the grip (E). If you don't agree, I will not be on that subject.
As everyone knows, Apple is a brand of computers, notebooks and smartphones, including the famous iPhone 6, onwards. I've been thinking about developing the track with the Apple logo to compliment the team on which they produced these products because they are incredible and unforgettable. Apple notes 10.
----- Apple's History -----
Apple was founded by Steve Wozniak, Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne under the name of Apple Computers Inc. in 1976 in California. With annual sales (in fiscal year 2006) of around $ 19.3 billion, and based in Cupertino, California, Apple develops, sells and supports a number of personal computers, portable media players, software and Hardware. Among the company's best-known products are the Mac computer line, its Mac OS X operating system and the iPod line of portable media players. For iPod and its program, iTunes, Apple sells audiobooks, movies, games, music, TV shows and video clips on its iTunes Store, recently entered the mobile phone business with the creation of the iPhone.
The company was known by Apple Computer, Inc. for its first 30 years of existence, but withdrew the word Computer from its corporate name on January 9, 2007. The name change, which followed the introduction of the iPhone smartphone and the Apple TV digital video system, is a representative of the company's continued expansion into other markets beyond its traditional focus on computers.
The Apple also operates more than 200 points of sale in the United States, Japan, United Kingdom, Canada and Italy. Stores sell most of the company's products as well as many third-party products and provide on-site support and repair for their hardware and software. The company employs more than 20 000 people worldwide, between permanent and temporary positions.
For a variety of reasons, from its design philosophy to its indie roots, as well as its advertising campaigns, Apple has built a distinctive reputation in the computer and electronics industry and has cultivated a consumer base that is uniquely devoted to the company and your brand. As of August 24, 2011 Steve Jobs officially announces his resignation from the position of Apple CEO and on October 5, 2011, dies.
It was rumored that the company had outperformed Microsoft in mid-1999 at market value which would have become the highest in history, but the corrected value of inflation shows that Apple had not reached that figure.
From: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Unfortunately GTHS Corporations doesn't own any of these Apple products, but we already had the iPhone 5 in 2015, however, sold.
Starting in March, we are starting a career mode in Indy Racing 2000 for Nintendo 64 where I will also play in Project64, in which I have the F-Zero X. If you liked the video, give a like, if you didn't like it, you know. See you in other video!
An Unforgettable Memoir by the Author of October Sky (2000)
In 1998, Delacorte Press published Hickam's second book, Rocket Boys, the story of his life as the son of a coal miner in Coalwood, West Virginia. Rocket Boys has since been translated into many languages and released as an audiobook and electronic book. Among its many honors, it was selected by The New York Times as one of its Great Books of 1998 and was an alternate Book-of-the-Month selection for both the Literary Guild and the Book of the Month Club. Rocket Boys was also nominated by the National Book Critics Circle as Best Biography of 1998. In February 1999, Universal Studios released its critically acclaimed film October Sky, based on Rocket Boys (The title October Sky is an anagram of Rocket Boys). Delacorte subsequently released a mass market paperback of Rocket Boys, re-titled October Sky. October Sky reached the number one position on the New York Times Best Seller list.
Hickam's first fiction novel was Back to the Moon (1999) which was simultaneously released as a hardcover, audiobook, and eBook. It has also been translated into Chinese. To date, Back to the Moon is Hickam's only novel specifically about space. It is a techno-thriller and a romantic novel, telling the story of a team of spacejackers who commandeer a shuttle.
The Coalwood Way, a memoir of Hickam's hometown, was published a year later by Delacorte Press, and is referred to by Hickam as not a sequel but an equal. His third Coalwood memoir, a true sequel, was published in October 2001. It is titled Sky of Stone. His final book about Coalwood was published in 2002, a self-help/inspirational tome titled We Are Not Afraid: Strength and Courage from the Town That Inspired the #1 Bestseller and Award-Winning Movie October Sky.
After his memoir series, Hickam began his popular Josh Thurlow series set during World War II. The first of the series was The Keeper's Son (2003) set on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The series continued with The Ambassador's Son (2005) and The Far Reaches (2007). both set in the South Pacific. His next novel was Red Helmet (2008), a love story set in the present day's Appalachian coalfields and dedicated to Mine Rescue Teams Everywhere. In 2010, he co-authored My Dream of Stars (2010) with Anousheh Ansari, a multi-millionaire Iranian-American who became the world's first female commercial astronaut. Hickam, an avid amateur paleontologist, also wrote The Dinosaur Hunter, a novel set in Montana published by St. Martin's in November 2010.
He also published a Young Adult Science Fiction thriller trilogy set on the moon which is known as the Helium-3 series. It included the titles Crater, Crescent, and The Lunar Rescue Company.
In 2015, Wm Morrow/HarperCollins published his best-selling Carrying Albert Home: A somewhat true story of a man, his wife, and her alligator. Albert has been published in 17 languages and has won many awards.
In 1984, Hickam was presented with Alabama's Distinguished Service Award for heroism shown during a rescue effort of the crew and passengers of a sunken paddleboat in the Tennessee River. Because of this award, Hickam was honored in 1996 by the United States Olympic Committee to carry the Olympic Torch through Huntsville, Alabama, on its way to Atlanta.
In 1999, the governor of West Virginia issued a proclamation in honor of Hickam for his support of his home state and his distinguished career as both an engineer and author and declared an annual Rocket Boys Day.
In 2000, the Virginia Tech junior class selected Hickam as the namesake for the Virginia Tech class of 2002 ring collection, the Homer Hickam Collection.[5]
In 2007, Hickam was awarded an honorary doctorate in Literature from Marshall University. That same year, he received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Virginia Tech.
In 2013, Hickam won the Clarence Cason Award from the University of Alabama for his non-fiction writing.
