Flakbunker Heiligengeistfeld / BUNKER IN HAMBURG FROM WW2

1950 - Feria de Hamburgo - Hamburger Dom funfair held Hamburg Germany
The Hamburger Dom is a large funfair held at Heiligengeistfeld fair ground in central Hamburg, Germany. With three fairs (spring, summer and winter) per year it is the biggest and the longest fair throughout Germany. It is also referred to as a Volksfest (lit. peoples fair) and attracts approximately ten million visitors per year.
Hamburger Dom puts on an impressive firework display at the Heiligengeistfeld, that can be seen across most of the city, every Friday that it runs at 22:30 hrs.
A market in or in front of Hamburg's Cathedral (German: Hamburger Dom) was first recorded in 1329, at the beginning only in special seasons like Christmas. With the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century the fair was also held at other times. After the demolition of the cathedral (1804–1807), the market was held on the Gänsemarkt (lit. geese market) in 1804, but kept the name “Dom”. Since 1892, the funfair has been held at Heiligengeistfeld (lit. field of the Holy Spirit) and the name was used for all fairs at this location.
Winterdom or Dommarkt (winter fair or cathedral market): 30 days in late autum
Sommerdom or Hummelfest (summer fair or Hummel market): since 1947: 31 days during summer
Frühlingsdom (spring fair): since 1948, 30 days in spring

Places to see in ( Hamburg - Germany ) Millerntorstadion
The Millerntor Stadium (1970-1998: Wilhelm Koch Stadium ) is a football stadium on the Heiligengeistfeld in the Hamburg district of St. Pauli. The club owned by FC St. Pauli is the venue for the home matches of the club's first and occasionally second football team.
Since completion of the renovation work in 2015, the stadium has a capacity of 29,546 seats, of which 16,940 seats and 12,606 seats. The seats include 39 private rooms with 468 seats, 2,491 business seats and 96 seats for wheelchair users.
The first sports fields on the Heiligengeistfeld were created after the First World War as simple, flat Grand- / Aschenplätze . On these played, among other things, the St. Pauli TV and clubs of the workers' sports cartel. As early as 1946, FC St. Pauli, with the active assistance of its fans and members of the Kriegsschutt, had built a new stadium on the corner of Glacischaussee / Budapester Straße (until 1956: Ernst-Thälmann- Straße ) - at the site of today's northern exit of the U-Bahn. St. Pauli train station .
The Millerntor Stadium is located in the center of the city in contrast to many other stadiums in professional football . The square is the grass court closest to the Hamburg town hall. In 2009, the Millerntor Stadium should be dedicated to its own clothing collection . The reason for this was that the club in distress had to sell the merchandising rights in 2004 and so only to a small extent to the income earned by the brand FC St. Pauli . For this reason, the brand Millerntor Stadium should be established, the proceeds of which would have flowed 100% to the FC St. Pauli.

【4K】HAMBURG Walking Tour - Hamburger Dom 2019
The Hamburger Dom is a large fair held at Heiligengeistfeld fair ground in central Hamburg, Germany.
The DOM is a piece of Hamburg tradition that guarantees games, fun, thrills and nostalgia. The term originated from a collection of merchants, craftsmen and jugglers who, after some friction, were granted the right to reside in St. Mary's Cathedral in foul weather in 1337. By the end of the 19th century, the showmen found their new home on Heiligengeistfeld.
The Spring Festival in March, the Summer Dom (the Bumblebee Festival) in July and the Winter Dom (Dom market) in November have one thing in common: For about four weeks, the Heiligengeistfeld is transformed into a bustling fairground without equal from noon until late evening. Roller-coasters surrounded by corn on the cob stalls; the smell of roasted almonds reaching a carousel for children and adults; candied fruits, sausages, pancakes and various waffle bakers; the Ferris wheel is the landmark of the Dom again and again, and an extra adventure area - always with a new theme - has also been part of the Dom for quite a few years.

Hamburg’s Biggest WWII Bunker Now Filled with Music
Although it was almost completely destroyed in a horrific bombing in 1943, today's Hamburg has rebounded as a surprisingly fun and fascinating city. While little remains from WWII, scores of the city’s old Nazi bunkers are simply too stout to be worth destroying. So they survive and are used in various creative ways. This bunker (Flakturm IV, on Feldstrasse in the St. Pauli neighborhood) is the biggest, designed to give 25,000 people shelter. It’s now filled with concert venues, recording studios, and dance clubs — and was fun to include in our TV show on Hamburg.
By the way, we’re just finishing our Germany shoot, and all three of our new Germany shows will air on public television in October of 2016. (These three shows are the first to be produced in our next series. We’ll likely produce 7 more in order to release 10 new episodes next year. Stay tuned!)

Lively bars and nightclubs draw partygoers to Reeperbahn, the main thoroughfare of St. Pauli’s raucous red-light district. Off the main street, theaters like Schmidts Tivoli and Operettenhaus present cabaret shows and musicals. The nearby Karolinenviertel neighborhood is known for its hip local fashion boutiques and trendy cafes. Lined with fish restaurants, the St. Pauli Piers offer sightseeing boat tours.
Reeperbahn, St. Pauli football and the harbour: These major attractions have shaped the quarter into what it is today — loud, flashy, flamboyant, hip, different and above all, colourful. When it comes to famous St. Pauli residents, the Beatles are usually the first to come to mind! Visit the Beatlesplatz square and see where the band started their stellar career. Ever since the swinging sixties, music has played an important part in St. Pauli. The annual Reeperbahn Festival in September is the perfect way to get an overview of the quarter’s many live music venues. Catch some of the greatest international artists as well as upcoming bands from the vibrant local scene! Even more popular, the Schlagermove parade attracts up to half a million party people every year.
The Reeperbahn street's flashing neon lights attract partygoers and culture-lovers alike to the many clubs, bars, theatres, musicals and live music venues that stand side by side on this dazzling street. You can still sense a special kind of maritime atmosphere in the small bars along the side streets of the Reeperbahn and, of course, along the banks of the Elbe river. The Panoptikum wax museum is home to lifelike lookalikes of Hamburg and international celebrities.
Next to the massive St. Pauli bunker you'll find the Heiligengeistfeld square, where Hamburg DOM, Northern Germany’s biggest fun fair, is held three times a year. Closer to the Elbe river, at the Landungsbrücken piers, tourists enjoy fish sandwiches while watching majestic cruise and container ships sail by. From there, you can embark on a harbour cruise or take a ferry over to the south bank of the river. The Old Elbe Tunnel is another major sight and provides great photo opportunities.
North of Landungsbrücken, the Planten un Blomen park has more to offer than its welcoming green areas. Right in the middle of the city, the water fountains, the Japanese gardens, the minigolf lot and the ice-skating rink make this park a perfect place to relax from the inner-city stress.
Just north of Heiligengeistfeld, the narrow streets of the Karolinenviertel neighbourhood offer many small boutiques and cafes for your shopping pleasure. Here, it's near impossible to miss Hamburg’s highest building, the Heinrich-Hertz TV tower. The tower has an impressive overall height of 279 metres. The platform at 128 metres is currently being renovated, so that someday a new cafe or restaurant will hopefully open its doors there. The TV-tower is located next to the Messehallen convention centre. About 40 trade shows attract 700,000 visitors every year. The Congress Centre Hamburg is located on the other side of the park, just next to Dammtor station. Together, they make Hamburg a first-class destination for international business visitors.

HAMBURG: 'Pirate Party, Currywurst, World War II Bunkers and More!'
@ Hamburg, Germany. This week we visit Hamburg, the second largest city in Germany. In this episode we'll be talking to members of the Piraten Partei, a political group aspiring to become a leading force at the upcoming European elections. We're later joined by some good old friends that'll show us how to keep it real in Hamburg: Currywurst, pubbing, sightseeing ...and of course Reeperbahn. In a song well-known in Germany, Hans Albers sings: 'On the Reeperbahn at half 12 at night...' . When it gets dark, St. Pauli springs to life: neon signs flashing everywhere in competition. The hottest clubs on the Reeperbahn open, with Irish pubs and Hans-Albers-Platz packed full of live music. We'll also engage, as always, in crazy conversations revolving life experiences in this wonderful city and the tobacco industry.
