First Look - Marlinton, WV.
My first foray into GoPro and riding. Its a steep learning curve as I was bothered with all the camera shake, rolling shutter, limitations in monitoring and powering the units while riding, etc... I overcame most of the issues and adjusted for the others. To the group (you know who you are), thank you for bearing with me during some of my learning moments and embracing the idea right off! This is only the teaser video and a more in depth look at our experiences is in the making. The split screen shots in this teaser are my attempts at smoothing the camera shakes that happen when you place one of these on a moving object! Especially a Harley! Shake, Rattle and roll.... The process to tame the footage, log the footage, sync and co-ordinate what I shot and then to edit a production is a lengthly one but I will have a gift of our ride sometime in the future.... Just give me the summer ;-) Cause I still have to do the mundane everyday things like work...

Here's another example of a great road I had pretty much all to myself for this ride. Unfortunately, the road's condition is starting to deteriorate, with some wash-boarding present. This wasn't any trouble for the GS.

Marlinton, WV to Greenbank Observatory, WV
This is a timelapse of a road trip we took from our home in Marlinton, WV to the Greenbank Radio Observatory, WV (about 30 miles). We make stops at the Seneca Lake picnic area, Seneca Lake with camping cabins and the Seneca Lake campground. The campground is great, about 10 spots. $17 per night. No electricity, vault toilets, central water pump. Vid was shot day after Memorial Day, nobody there. Next video goes to Cass Scenic Railroad State Park. Third video goes from Cass back to Marlinton, via Back Mountain road. Does not show much of Greenbank, just the road to it.
