Placencia, Bleize: Waterfall, VW bus surfing, horseback riding adventure.
On day 5 of our trip the sun was hiding on us and the group was having a late start to the day. We had spent everyday on Taza Poco and needed to go exploring in the jungle before we left. So we hopped in Dave and Amy's VW bus heading to a waterfall and some of the group went on a horseback riding adventure. When we got to the gate we paid $10 a person and were given a wrist band. Most of us in the group are not down with touristy adventures that require permission and have rules that kill the fun. However usually there is a reason why tourist go to places and we soon learned why this place has to be regulated.
It was a beautiful series of waterfalls running down the jungle with cool fresh water pools to swim in. Max and I climbed up to the third waterfall and I checked the water for rocks before he sent it off a really far jump over the waterfall. As we made our way down, everyone was yelling at us not to jump so I went to the lower cliff but Max wasn't so convinced. He is a wild man and loves the thrill of sending it off of massive cliffs, I am a people pleaser and didn't want to piss off the girls. He jumped and everyone and their mother gasped and had something to say about it. Needless to say he was fine and the only injury he suffered was the gopro clocking him in the nose on impact.
After that we headed back and as we were leaving Dave and I were trying to figure out the best place to mount the Gopro onto the classic VW bus. In the end we figured it would be easiest if I just went up there and surfed the roof of the van to get the most shots. I van surfed the VW bus through the jungle until we made it to an orange field. There we picked fresh oranges and had fun goofing off on this beautiful local farm.
After our adventure we went to a small local restaurant for some food and drinks and had fun catching up with the others about how their adventures went.
Another great day in Placencia, Belize!

Placencia, Belize 2020
Couldn't think of a better place or group of people to bring in the New Year with. We had a banger of a trip breaking in 2020, from VW bus surfing in the jungle, spear fishing, kite/wake foiling, waterfall jumping, island hopping, stand up paddling, partying, karaoke, LED night crossings, snorkeling, and most importantly spending time with good friends.
This video doesn't even capture the amount of fun and good times we had but I tried my best to fit it all into this eleven minute clip.
Hope you all enjoy and have the best year yet!
Cheers,
Blake

Growing up in Belize: Horseback Riding with Dad
We live on a remote, off-grid, jungle lodge in Belize, specializing in Horseback Riding and adventure tours.
Here are a few clips from the past year. Our baby boy has been learning to ride horses with his daddy. I just love the joy on his face when they come back from their first little canter.
This is how we like to spend our time off, raising our son to appreciate experiences, not just material items.
This is my first video, a love note to my husband, David and our precious son, Hunter.
Thanks to my parents, Jim and Marguerite Bevis, owners of Mountain Equestrian Trails (metbelize.com) for providing us with such a special home and lifestyle. These are moments that last a lifetime.

Placencia Belize: Foilboarding King Lewy Island
It was our fourth day of the trip to Belize and the group decided to go to King Lewy Island a few miles off the coast of Placencia. We loaded down Taza Poco with gear for whatever the conditions may be and had a great trip out to this beautiful private island. Unfortunately we didn't have any wind to kite but regardless as you'll see in this video we had fun no matter what.
As we were leaving I jumped off the water trampoline and headed back to Placencia as the sun was setting. The sun was past the horizon and I made up my mind that I wanted to ride the whole 8 miles home. We strapped the Nocqua LED lights to the hydrofoil and put the Lume cube around my neck for extra light. It was a tough ride and took over an hour of blindly riding home but we made it and I was able to pump into the dock at the end of the night.
