The Hotel des Postes de Dijon , today Postes Grangier , is a real estate complex of Art Nouveau style , located at 8-12 Place Grangier , 1-7 rue du Temple, 15 boulevard de Brosses and 2-10 rue Jean-Renaud in Dijon. The hotel positions, sometimes called Our Lady of Posts and Grand Poste is the work Art Nouveau architect in vogue at Dijon in the early xx th century: Louis Perreau . It was built from 1907 on a vacant lot previously occupied by the Castle of Dijon , demolished by piece at the end of the xix th century and inaugurated October 24 the 1909 . It is subsequently enlarged from 1927 and received in 1932 . The extension, art deco styleis the work of Gilles Delavault, who belongs to the list of regional architects PTT and the architect Charles Danne.
Since December 2, 2013, the Art Nouveau and neo-Louis XVI style building has been registered as an historic monument. The protected elements are: façades on and over the streets, the gate of the entrance gate overlooking Jean-Renaud Street, the public hall overlooking Grangier Place , the entrance hall and the main staircase monumental located boulevard de Brosses and the old well of the Castle of Dijon , nicknamed the little bastille.
Since 1909, this cathedral secular not only served as a post office but its metal turret also allowed to host a telephone exchange and a telegraph. On December 13, 2013, the building permit for the total restructuring of the building and its renovation and upgrading is signed by the national director of the Post Office and the Mayor of Dijon. The project should also allow postal services to occupy only half of the building. Thus new developments are planned as new businesses or offices on 870 m². Finally a new luxury hotel should be established on 4600 m² overlooking the facade of Place Grangier.

Dijon : les travaux de la poste Grangier
Après une semaine de fermeture pour transférer toute l'activité, le bureau de poste Grangier à Dijon, a rouvert aujourd'hui quelques dizaines de mètres plus loin, Boulevard de Brosses. Quant aux travaux de rénovation du bâtiment, qui vont durer au moins un an, ils permettront la création d'un nouvel espace de services et de commerces.

La facture du chantier atteint 122 millions d’euros et le site multi-équipements doit être livré avant « mi-2020 » L'ancien centre de tri postal est transformé en hôtel cinq étoiles, bureaux, logements sociaux, commissariat. Le toit-terrasse accueillera aussi un bar doté d'une verrière avec vue sur les toits de Paris. Un bureau de poste de 1000 m2 sera également conservé.

1884 : on édifie un trés bel Hôtel des Postes, qui trônera jusqu'en 1972! Aujourd'hui on y trouve le square Fleuriot de Langle, rien à voir côté esthétique!

[URBEX] Abandoned building in Dijon - France
So before everything I want to say that I'm quite sad that this spot has been destroyed but hey at least we got some recodrrngs of this! This building was burned for unknown reasons so it gave it some cool vibes! Recorded by X and V as a guest! Dedicated to people stuck in Gustave Eiffel (the college next to this place).

Here a little story of our day inside : by the time we were on the roof having some fun, we spotted people inside the fences that were somehow looking for people, we got scared a bit then decided to get on lower levels because it would've been easier to escape from there than from the roof. Then we stayed for easily 30 minutes in one room playing Clash. That's why we were trying to be as quiet as possible while getting down.

The Hotel de Vogue of Dijon in Côte d'Or is a mansion of the xvii th century , built in the French Renaissance . It is located at 8 rue de la Chouette , near the bedside of Notre Dame Church. The hotel was classified as a historical monument on January 5, 1911. This mansion richly decorated, was built in 1614 for Étienne Bouhier Chevigny if we believe the date on the large fireplace in the guard room. He was a magistrate and councilor in the parliament of Burgundy from 1607 to 1635 as well as a great art lover. Adhering to architecture, he was given the opportunity to have been the architect of his hotel. The latter is considered the prototype of Dijon parliamentary hotels.
This noble style, which can find in Toulouse , Montpellier and Nimes , is influenced significantly by the language of the Italian Renaissance. Indeed, the will is to reconnect with the modes of previous constructions. This is facilitated by such treaties of the xvi th century , which all refer to ancient monuments. Moreover, in the case of this hotel, the possibility of influence (ivy leaves) from the achievements of architect Hugues Sambin can not be ruled out. In the courtyard, the plan of the hotel takes again that of the new private mansions between courtyard and garden: main body vis-a-vis the portico with the Italian framing the entry, two wings in return framing the court and forming pavilions.
The decoration of facades reminiscent of the xvi th century pediments curved and triangular masks , garlands, but the caryatids are gone, replaced by fins . The roof is made of a mosaic of glazed tiles in the Burgundy style. The arcades of the portico of the entrance are surmounted by a rich decoration with fame half recumbent in the spandrels . The columns are intertwined with ivy. On their bases were engraved the monogram EBMG celebrating the second marriage of Etienne Bouhier contracted on April 25, 1615 with Madeleine Giroud.
The left portal was pierced in 1717 to allow entry of the coaches to the garden where stables had been built.
The garden facade is devoid of decoration outside the animation given by the two turrets on a square plan. The guard room near the entrance has a large fireplace decorated with a painting representing Hero and Leander. Caryatids decorate the mantelpieces. In 1766 the hotel became the property of the family of Vogüé by the marriage, on November 29, of Catherine Bouhier de Versalieu with the count Cerice-François Melchior de Vogüé. Currently owned by the City of Dijon , it houses the city's human resources department. It has a glazed tile roof of Burgundy .
