BERLIN CITY TOUR: Visiting Humboldt Box, Berlin Palace Humboldt Forum
#BerlinCityTour; #HumboldtBox; #BerlinPalace; #HumboldtForum; #BerlinPalaceHumboldtForum
------
The Humboldt-Box shows visitors the new Berlin Palace Humboldt Forum from some surprising angles. It highlights various impressive aspects related to the palace’s former and latest history and to the state-of-the-art construction technology used on the site. One exhibit which has proved particularly popular with the audience is the large-scale model of “Berlin around 1900”. The Humboldt Box is currently one of the city’s most visited attractions. It is the showcase for the Berlin Palace Humboldt Forum. On display are examples of innovative exhibition concepts. The Humboldt brothers would have approved of the “haven for arts and sciences” that is being created here. The tour around the interactively designed exhibition floors becomes a journey of discovery that engages all senses. The top floor offers views across the palace construction site and the museums on Museumsinsel. It may be a good idea to set aside some time to spend at the café/restaurant located there, which has panorama terraces. (Source:

Trip to Berlin... Quick Tour of Berlin
We stayed at the Sofitel in downtown and took this walking tour of the city. It was amazing. The guide was a British guy who was studying and living in Berlin for 5 years. He was so energetic and passionate about what he did. He took us to the Holocaust memorial, book burning site, Hitler's bunker, Checkpoint Charlie, Berlin Wall, and much more.

Walking at Lustgarten and Berlin Cathedral
The Lustgarten (Pleasure Garden) is a park on Museum Island in central Berlin, near the site of the former Berliner Stadtschloss (Berlin City Palace) of which it was originally a part. At various times in its history, the park has been used as a parade ground, a place for mass rallies and a public park.
Berlin Cathedral (German: Berliner Dom) is the short name for the Evangelical Supreme Parish and Collegiate Church in Berlin, Germany. It is located on Museum Island in the Mitte borough. The current building was finished in 1905 and is a major work of Historicist architecture of the Kaiserzeit.
Filmed in august 2018.

Berlin Walking Tour
While a big city, Berlin is very walkable (with a little help from its extensive and cheap public transport). We started with a walk through the Tiergarten on Strasse des 17 Juni. Going up the Siegessaule afforded a great view of our next destination, the Brandenburg Gate. After a quick stop at the Soviet War Memorial, we took in the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. More walking brought us past Humboldt University and the Berliner Dom. We made a side trip to see Karl Marx before having lunch near Alexanderplatz. The U quickly took us to our final stopping point, the closed Tempelhof Airport, park. I included some old photos of East Berlin from my first visit, circa 1987.
