Iglesia Mayor Prioral y Plaza de Toros. El Puerto de Santa María. Cádiz
La Iglesia Mayor Prioral de El Puerto de Santa María se levanta en la parte alta de la ciudad, y su fábrica está documentada desde el año 1486, coincidiendo con la etapa de apogeo constructivo que fomentan los duques de Medinacelli, señores jurisdicionales de la entonces villa y promotores de esta obra. Como la mayoría de los grandes edificios de esta zona, la iglesia se construye con piedra arenisca procedente de la sierra de San Cristóbal, de la vecina ciudad de Jerez de la Frontera.
Interiormente la iglesia se organiza a partir de tres naves principales, a las que se adosan otras dos laterales, una a cada lado, para capillas. La nave central, muy amplia, contiene cercana a la puerta de los pies un coro bajo cerrado por tres de sus lados y abierto hacia el presbiterio a través de una alta reja; entre otras obras de gran valor, en su interior aloja una importante sillería.
La Plaza de Toros de El Puerto de Santa María es un coso taurino del siglo XIX de estilo ecléctico, terminó de construirse en el año 1880.
El proyecto fue obra de Mariano Carderera y Manuel Pardo. Tiene forma de polígono regular de 60 lados, consta de tres pisos. El coso presenta un diámetro de 99 metros y 60 de arena. El Puerto de Santa María is a municipality located on the banks of the Guadalete River in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia. The town of El Puerto de Santa María is 10 kilometres (6 miles) north east of Cádiz across the bay of Cádiz and is best known for having been the port from which Columbus sailed on his second voyage to the Americas.
El Puerto de Santa María is located on the Atlantic coast of the Bay of Cádiz, near the municipalities of Jerez de la Frontera, Rota, Puerto Real, and Cádiz. El Puerto de Santa Maria is popular for its sherry and for its beaches, which are the town's principal tourist attraction. Well known beaches include Vistahermosa, Valdelagrana, and La Puntilla. Like many other southern cities, there are many smaller towns encompassed by the municipality. There is also a major port, known as Puerto Sherry. A large amount of land has been devoted to the Bay of Cádiz Nature Reserve.
The most important economic activity is tourism, mainly because of the beaches, as well as the bullfights held at the arena during the summer. El Puerto de Santa Maria also hosts large groups of motorcyclists during the Jerez Motorcycle Grand Prix. There is commercial development in the center and periphery, and a highly developed wine industry.

The area boasts two other Natural parks, the Sierra de Grazalema and El Coto Donaña.

En el video mostramos su primer toro de la tarde en donde torea variado y con gusto con el capote. Realiza 4 chicuelinas limpias y ajustadas con el sello de Galloso y su quite, La Gallosina que mas tarde hemos podido ver realizarla por muchos matadores de toros, y destacamos matando al toro recibiendo, como lo hacía con gran maestría el matador de toros Rafael Ortega. No tiene desperdicio

Feria del Puerto de Santa María - International Cultural Day
FERIA DEL PUERTO DE SANTA MARÍA 2018
Hello, I am Alejandra and this time we have joined the International Cultural day coordinated by the Nepal Community (Laxmi and Bishow).
We choose one tipical celebration from the South of Spain, LA FERIA.
This is an evolution from cattle fairs from the XV century, were Merchants negotiated with pigs, horses, sheep, cows and all kinds of animals.
We started our meet-up in the Central fountain.
On the Fair Ground you can see long tents, CASETAS, erect during a week every year on spring.
These CASETAS contains Bars where you can:
1. Eat Spanish fast food like fried fish, green peppers, spanish omelette, a delicious huevada a mix of eggs with green peppers and serrano ham, seafood...
2. Drink. One special is Fino Wine, a dry white Sherry elaborated in the area. And there is a very popular version of it, a Beverage mixing this Fino Wine and Soda.
3. Tables for eating , talking, dancing...
4. A dance area.
We can wear FLAMENCO dresses:
Women: the dress is hugging the body until mid thigh, then several layers of ruffles.
The outfit is complete with flowers in the hair, big earrings, bracelets and a shawl over the shoulders.
Men: they wear a hat, boots and a short jacket.
The pathway is made of ALBERO, a yellow earth (remember we are travelling to the cattle fairs from the past). You can see many horsemen and horsewomen even the police and it´s very common to have a horse carriage ride.
The Dance is very important in this celebration. You don´t stop dancing all kind of music, but the most popular are:
Sevillanas: is composed of 4 parts and each part is divided in three parts. So you spend 3-5 depending on the speed of the song.
Flamenco: this is more professional. and people in a brave spontaneous way go out and dance.
Kids have a lot of fun in El infierno we call it that way because the music is very high and there are attractions and Roller-Coasters.
They can eat sweets, cotton-candies, churros with chocolate and fritters.
The Main Entrance, LA PORTADA usually change every year, but the three last ones we have had this bull because is a symbol of the city.
We have noticed that the accessibility is important. Most of the Casetas have a ramp to access and in some of them we have seen adapted toilets, and the busses have a lift ramp and are ready to different needs.
We are very happy because glass recycling is included in most of the casetas. We go in the good direction :))
One of the main ways to go and come from the Feria is by bus, and this is the option we choose.

LA IGLESIA PRIORAL DE SANTA MARÍA EN CARMONA-SEVILLA. España.
Junto al museo, se levanta la Prioral de Santa María. Iglesia de grandes proporciones, fue levantada entre 1424 y 1518 en el mismo lugar donde se hallaba la mezquita musulmana. De ésta, aún se conserva el Patio de los Naranjos, situado en el lado izquierdo del templo y que se ofrece como un inmejorable remanso de tranquilidad de espíritu árabe.
La iglesia se distribuye sobre tres naves y un crucero ornadas con capillas laterales y cubiertas por bóvedas estrelladas de aspecto gótico.
En el altar, destaca el magnífico retablo de estilo plateresco realizado en 1559, además de una excelente muestra de arte religioso compuesto, entre otros objetos, por una colección de orfebrería y un lienzo atribuido a Zurbarán.
A ambos lados de la iglesia, se alzan las casas de los Rueda y del Marqués de las Torres y, frente a ella, el convento de las Descalzas, una construcción del siglo XVII que alberga una interesante iglesia barroca y una torre con doble campanario.
