HAMBURG, EXPLORING the famous RED LIGHT DISTRICT, Germany
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go for a walk around Hamburg's world famous red light district on a warm Saturday autumn night.
Hamburg, a major port city in northern Germany, is connected to the North Sea by the Elbe River. It's crossed by hundreds of canals, and also contains large areas of parkland. Near its core, Inner Alster lake is dotted with boats and surrounded by cafes. The city's central Jungfernstieg boulevard connects the Neustadt (new town) with the Altstadt (old town), home to landmarks like 18th-century St. Michael’s Church.
Germany is a Western European country with a landscape of forests, rivers, mountain ranges and North Sea beaches. It has over 2 millennia of history. Berlin, its capital, is home to art and nightlife scenes, the Brandenburg Gate and many sites relating to WWII. Munich is known for its Oktoberfest and beer halls, including the 16th-century Hofbräuhaus. Frankfurt, with its skyscrapers, houses the European Central Bank.

St Pauli Reeperbahn Tour Hamburg October 2015
Thank you to Sebastian from Hamburg Steps for an amazing tour of St Pauli Reeperbahn in Hamburg, Germany. October 2015. We all loved our “local insider’s” guided tour of St. Pauli & Reeperbahn, Hamburg’s popular district lined with clubs, pubs, shopping and restaurants. Sebastian explained to us about the areas and times where prostitution is legal. We saw the famous Davidwache police station and the Star Club where the Beatles played from 1962-1964. I highly recommend his tour.
Our dinner at The East Restaurant was fantastic and I was told it is one the most acclaimed restaurants in the Reeperbahn among locals.

Living in Hamburg: Tips on the Best Spots from a Local
hosco toured Hamburg with Carolin Marks, Bar Manager at the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski, and discovered there’s lots to love about Germany’s second largest city.
Carolin Marks, a graduate of IUBH in Bonn, moved to Hamburg from Berlin to work at the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski, and since settling in, she has no plans of leaving. Carolin says that the only downside of the port city is the unpredictable weather—but, when the weather is nice, there’s lots to take advantage of. Lakes, parks, the old town, as well as a modern and thriving business area mean that the city offers something to almost everyone. Listen in as Carolin shares her tips for shopping, eating, partying, and enjoying a day off in Hamburg.

Speicherstadt Walking Tour, Hamburg, Germany 4k UHD
Speicherstadt Walking Tour, Hamburg, Germany 4k UHD
The century-old Speicherstadt, the world's largest contiguous warehouse complex, is located in the Freihafen (free-port) between Deichtorhallen and Baumwall. An idyll that one would hardly imagine finding in a world port waits there for visitors to Hamburg. Wilhelmine brick Gothic from the late nineteenth century, bizarre gables and turrets which reflect the barges in the canals.
The Speicherstadt, a Hamburg landmark, is one of the main attractions in the great harbour tour. The world's largest integrated complex of warehouses was built in 1883, five years before Hamburg received its free port. Since 1991, the unique district has been given historic monument protection. The warehouses are built on oak piles and the district is crossed by what are known as fleets - canals that are flooded depending on the tides and can then also be travelled by ship. You can travel the narrow canals in small barges to savour the architectural details if the tide is right. A canal tour with a historic barge like this is an unforgettable experience. Most tours depart from the landing stages in St. Pauli. Groups can even charter a whole barge.

Welcome to Hamburg! How much could you really tell me about Hamburg? If you’re like me, then before setting out to this criminally overlooked city, you might have only known it as one of the big German cities that isn’t Berlin. I’m here to tell you that it’s so, so much more than that, and I can’t believe I went so long without visiting. Hamburg is a city on the water, and as Europe’s third-largest port, Hamburg is known as Germany’s ‘Gateway to the World’. The river Elbe is the source - the main artery that brings Hamburg to life. From river tours pacing the canals of the Speicherstadt to the container ships loaded by crane in the Harbour, trade and prosperity brought to Hamburg by the river Elbe shaped the city from its foundations. But not everything great in Hamburg sails down the Elbe. From sky-scraping concert
halls .. to miniature model railways. From Vegas-style red light district nightlife .. to cool, underground gourmet burger restaurants. Hamburg is a modern, global city with a rich history and culture, with something to fascinate everyone. We’re Jake and Tom, from Holiday Extras, and this is our Hamburg Adventure. On our first day, we’re going to see the sights the way Hamburg sells them. The full-blown Tourist experience, visiting Hamburg’s most highly recommended tourist experiences, to let you know if they make the cut. On Day 2? We loosen up a little. Find our own way. Indulge our flights of fancy, and do Hamburg the way we wanted. Indulge ourselves! We wanted to find out what Hamburg had to offer that was perfect for Jake and Tom. The two days of our trip turned out to be so different - and I hope you find what we learned useful. We learned a lot! But what surprised me the most about this trip was how fun it can be to just chase my curiosity - and break my own expectations. Our adventure started at Gatwick Airport - filling up on free breakfast in the lounge to prepare for the journey ahead. From the airport it was easy - we booked a transfer in advance - and before long we were at our accommodation, resting up before our Hamburg trip truly began. We kicked off Day One the way any good day starts - with a coffee. There are plenty of places along the river to grab a pretty great coffee, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try my first ever big pretzel. (WHICH was great, by the way.) Charged with coffee and pretzels, we were ready to go - now it was time to get stuck in to Hamburg’s most highly recommended things to do. Hamburg is a city on the water. In central Hamburg, the river Elbe divides off into smaller, narrower canals that interlace a beautiful district called the Speicherstadt, which means ‘City of Warehouses’. The Speicherstadt is the largest warehouse district in the world- Ignore me - it’s actually the largest warehouse district in the world where the buildings stand on timber-pile foundations. Fun fact - this case, they’re made of Oak! Which makes it a big tourist attraction, and it consistently comes up as one of the most recommended places to visit in Hamburg. Now having been here ourselves? Totally agree with that. It’s beautiful, you have lovely views of the river, it’s really nice to walk around, lots of places to grab a coffee and just… just waste some time, y’know? There’s lots of other attractions that are based here as well because it’s so popular with tourists, so it’s definitely somewhere you should have on your list. Some of the most picturesque places in the city are around the Speicherstadt, and most city and harbour tours will go through here. The iconic warehouse facades are one of the most recognisable sites in Hamburg. Although we could have easily wandered back and forth over the canal bridges all morning, sipping coffee and admiring the architecture, it was time to move on. And we had a little place in mind. So this next place calls itself one of the epicentres of hamburg tourism. We’re gonna go see what we think about it for ourselves - it’s called Miniature Wonderland, or as far as I can tell in the German written name, Miniatur Wunderland? Let’s go find out!

About This Home:
Like a sculpture carved out of stone, the vision of a modern villa is here realized that abstracts and reinterprets classical rules: for an incomparable sense of living in the middle of nature.
In the most pleasant seclusion, undisturbed, The Sculpture is the most attractive retreat a hamburger inhabitant can imagine. Concrete, glass and steel - these are the three main materials that determine the characteristic appearance of this villa.
Surrounded by the elegance of the building's interior and exterior design as well as the peaceful forest, the owners of this property can concentrate on the desirable contents of life. The construction of the object leads to a pleasant level of privacy and security because it is closed to the street but open to the other side to the pool, whirlpool and forest to satisfy the natural urge for freedom.
The floor-to-ceeiling window fronts provide the living area with plenty of daylight and opening up the view into the green landscape. A highlight are the large steel blades that span the glass and connect the lower and upper levels. As soon as the day is over, the numerous elegant designer lamps provide the rooms with an atmospheric light, exquisite designer furniture and a very modern fireplace which creates irresistible coziness and warmth.
The Sculpture convince with originality. The property is not a modular house, but develop from a unique vision. With a mixture of Bauhaus style and brutalism, it exudes strength and defensiveness to the outside without losing its elegance, inward security, generosity and tranquility. It gives its owners a sublime feeling of freedom.

Hamburg Airport Tour
Come and join us on our way to Munich!!!! I hope you all enjoy this short tour of the Hamburg airport including spectacular shots of the broad departure hall. Spectacular planes, views, and typical airport landmarks are seen throughout the video.
The Hamburg airport served over 15.6 Million passengers in 2015 alone, marking its busiest year ever. Despite the city of Hamburg being the second most populous city and metro area in Germany, it is nowhere near as busy as Munich and Frankfurt. The airport also has two runways marked by 23 and 33.
Two terminals are located in the airport, with terminal 1 being meant for more low-cost carriers like Air Berlin and EasyJet. Terminal 2 houses more international flights (excluding United) like Iranair, Emirates and KLM. Most of the departures from the airport are handled by the gates themselves.
The airport also is unique because it hs its own famous model airport in downtown Hamburg at Germany's Minatur Wunderland.
I defiantly will look forward to more airport tours in the future whenever I travel and now in better quality :)

Hamburg is the second-largest city of Germany and is generally taken to be commensurate to its state with a population of roughly 1.8 million people. The city has a wider associated area.
The official name reflects Hamburg's history as in turn a member of the medieval Hanseatic League, a free imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire, a city-state and becoming one of the 16 states of Germany.
Before the 1871 Unification of Germany, it was a fully sovereign state. Prior to the constitutional changes in 1919 it formed a civic republic headed constitutionally by a class of hereditary grand burghers or Hanseaten.
Repeatedly destruction has beset the city's history including the Great Fire of Hamburg, exceptional coastal flooding and military conflicts including WW2 bombing raids. Historians remark that the city has managed to recover and emerge wealthier after each catastrophe.
On the river Elbe, Hamburg has Europe's second-largest port yet has a wide corporate base. In media, broadcaster NDR, printing and publishing firm Gruner + Jahr and newspapers Der Spiegel and Die Zeit are based in the city.
Hamburg remains an important financial centre, the seat of Germany's oldest stock exchange and the world's second oldest bank, Berenberg Bank. Media and retail-related, logistical and industrial headquarters and facilities include multi-nationals Airbus, Blohm + Voss, Aurubis, Beiersdorf, and Unilever.
The city is a forum for and has specialists in world economics and international law with such consular and diplomatic missions as the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the EU-LAC Foundation and the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning. Multipartite international political conferences and summits have in recent years included those between Europe and China and among the G20.
The city is a tourist destination domestically and internationally. It ranked 18th in the world for livability in 2016. Speicherstadt and Kontorhausviertel were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2015.
Hamburg is a major European science, research, and education hub, with several universities and institutes. Its creative industries and cultural sites include the Elbphilharmonie and Laeisz concert halls, art venues, music producers, and artists.
It gave birth to movements like Hamburger Schule and paved the way for bands including The Beatles. Hamburg is also known for several theatres and a variety of musical shows. St. Pauli's Reeperbahn is among the best-known European entertainment districts
Hamburg is at a sheltered natural harbour on the southern fanning-out of the Jutland Peninsula, between Continental Europe to the south and Scandinavia to the north, with the North Sea to the west and the Baltic Sea to the north-east. It is on the River Elbe at its confluence with the Alster and Bille.
The city centre is around the Binnenalster (Inner Alster) and Außenalster (Outer Alster), both formed by damming the River Alster to create lakes. The islands of Neuwerk, Scharhörn and Nigehörn, 100 kilometres (60 mi) away in the Hamburg Wadden Sea National Park, are also part of the city of Hamburg.
The neighbourhoods of Neuenfelde, Cranz, Francop and Finkenwerder are part of the Altes Land (old land) region, the largest contiguous fruit-producing region in Central Europe. Neugraben-Fischbek has Hamburg's highest elevation, the Hasselbrack at 116.2 metres (381 ft) AMSL. Hamburg borders the states of Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxon
