HIGH SPEED Sushi with Multilingual Tablet at Uobei in SHIBUYA | Tokyo, Japan
One of my favorite things about Japan is its incredible food scene. When I visited the country back in January of 2019, my palate was blown away by all of the outstanding food that’s available, including tasty and savory ramen, delectable tofu, and yakitori that is grilled to perfection. But one of my top foods of all-time is sushi and the sushi in Japan is the best in the world. Come with me as I try high-speed sushi in Tokyo’s Shibuya area!
After I arrived back in Tokyo from Osaka, I started my next adventure at Shibuya Crossing, the busiest intersection in the world, which 2,500 pedestrians pass through every time the light changes. This area of Tokyo is known for its creatives, including the fashion industry. There are also lots of bars and izakayas in Shibuya.
I linked up with my new friend Kaz, who took me to Uobei to have a delicious high-speed sushi meal at Uobei, which offers at least 80 different types of sushi! At Uobei, each customer gets a tablet that can be set to multiple languages, so if you don’t speak Japanese, you can switch it to English. From there, you are shown pictures of the various types of sushi. Just tap one to order it and it will shoot down the track and arrive at your table within 30 seconds! It’s cheap, delicious, and efficient, so it’s no wonder the place was packed when we arrived!
We started off with some green tea, which Kaz made from a couple of scoops of powder and water.
Our first sushi of the day was two different varieties of tuna and salmon. We added soy sauce all over them. It was a really nice combination with the tuna. Next was the white tuna with onions and rice, which was outstanding. The salmon with onions was also incredibly tasty and fresh!
After I finished my first plate, I squeezed a lot of soy sauce onto it to make it my soy sauce plate, added some wasabi, mixed it in really well, and then continued with more sushi!
Next I went with the standard tuna and rice, which was amazing, and added some ginger to my plate before ordering some smelt roe and salmon roe. But first I went with some flounder, which I’d never had before. It was light, fresh, dense, and had a completely different texture from the tuna and salmon. I could see why it was Kaz’s favorite!
The smelt roe, which is lots of tiny fish eggs, was amazing, and the salmon roe with cucumber was also fantastic. The salmon eggs are a little bigger, so they pop in your mouth and gush out. It was so good! I loved it with the wasabi, which adds a little bit of heat to all of the rice, and the ginger, which I added on top.
Next, I went with the grilled salmon, which was a little creamier than the regular salmon. After that, I ordered flounder fin, tuna with mayonnaise and black pepper, salmon with mayonnaise and black pepepr, pickled sardine, and minced tuna.
The flounder fin was really tender, almost like octopus, and the salmon with mayonnaise and black pepper was a great combination. I liked the tuna with mayonnaise and black pepper better, though! The pickled sardine is a little more exotic and I didn’t see a lot of people around me ordering it, but it was really nice! A little fishy, but good. The minced tuna had a lot of onions on it and was so soft. It was almost like a tuna mash and was my favorite!
By that point, I had already eaten 20 pieces of sushi, but I was ready for more! I can eat sushi all day!
Next, I ordered some sea urchin, which I’d had before and absolutely love, even though I was getting full. This one was spicy and fishy. It turns out I didn’t love it after all!
After that last piece, I was stuffed, so we confirmed our check. Our total came to only 1,209 Yen/$10.94! Unlike a lot of places in Japan, Uobei accepts credit cards.
What an extraordinary sushi experience! This is an experience you must have when you come to Tokyo. The sushi is of a super high quality and you can eat a lot for very cheap prices.
We weren’t done yet! Next, it was time for some sake!
We headed up to a restaurant and grabbed some sake, which was nice and cold and exactly what I needed to wake up!

Tokyo Street Food Tour: Tsukiji Fish Market, Sushi & Izakaya | Japan Travel Vlog
Eating around Tokyo starting with a 3 hour food and drink tour around Tsukiji Fish Market! We tried tuna sashimi, fish cake, Japanese omelettes (and saw how it's made), roasted nuts, sake, sencha green tea and a sushi lunch. We also FINALLY went to teamLab Borderless - an art exhibition that's been on my list for years. It definitely didn't disappoint. Interactive, technology-filled and ethereal. It felt like we were transported into a different world - a great activity when the heavens decide to pour over Tokyo!
Hannah really wanted to experience the craziness of the world's busiest crossing in Shibuya so we headed there then stopped by an izakaya for drinks, snacks and so much entertainment. Few glasses of prosecco later... karaoke happened. Oh hey Big Echo and Golden Gai, we love you. SO much.

The best possible thing you can do is join the Tokyo Pub Crawl on Friday in Roppongi and explore the nightlife of Shibuya on Saturday, those are the best days for an epic weekend in Tokyo.
If you make new friends in Tokyo, you will eventually be asked to be added to LINE. Nightlife in Japan is beyond incredible! The most popular nightclubs in Tokyo include Club Camelot in Shibuya, ELE Tokyo in Roppongi and Ageha Nightclub in Koto City. Ageha is the best nightclub in Japan, it will be an all night event since it is quite far from downtown but on a big event night you will be amazed by the gorgeous girls, cool dudes and a fantastic sound system. This mega club stays open until 5am and should be high on your Tokyo party bucket list.
Tokyo has the best quality of food in the world, that's why you have to visit at least one of its many izakaya's to try a bunch of authentic Japanese dishes, like Eihire (grilled stingray), Sakura (raw horse meat) and Yakitori (skewered chicken meat). Visit izakaya's Umiya or Sumire in Shibuya to enjoy these dishes.
After dinner join the Tokyo Pub Crawl on Friday @ 8pm which lasts until 12am (4 hours) during which you will visit 3 bars and 1 epic nightclub. Tokyo Pub Crawl is a great event to meet travelers, locals, expats and fully hosted in English. What many travelers do not realize is that English isn't commonly spoken at bars and nightclubs, thus the pub crawl is a great first start. The Tokyo Pub Crawl is ONLY $20 USD for 4 hours of fun, you truly cannot go wrong.
Studying a bit of Japanese and learning common phrases prior to your arrival will definitely make your nightlife experience in Japan 10x times better. I've made many incredible friends during my 6 visits to Japan and these have been some of my most treasured memories by being able to speak a bit of Japanese.
I truly have seen it all in Tokyo since my first Tokyo Nightlife experience back in 2007 - I've seen many bars and clubs come and go, that's why I decided to compile the best possible list for an epic party weekend in the capital of Japan.

During our time in japan we joined forces with Japan Wonder Travel as they asked us to go on their Sunamachi Foodrink Tour,
This Tour is located in Sunamachi Ginza in Tokyo, Sunamachi isn’t commercial like Shibuya or Shinjuku but it has its own spirit about it, During our tour we focused on one long market street in the centre of sunamchi , its one of the most energetic shopping streets in Tokyo,
Due to the increase of big supermarkets street markets like this one become endangered, however we had the priviliage to experience it, experiencing local life is the key factor about this tour and being able to have insight on peoples day to day life, during this tour we also indulge in the street food stalls that were on offer.

RUGBY WORLD CUP IN YOKOHAMA + SHIBUYA CROSSING | JAPAN TRAVEL VLOG | JENNIFER&CO
This was my introduction to Rugby which I call a mix of American football and soccer. We attended 2 games: New Zealand vs South Africa and Ireland vs Scotland. We ended our Japan trip back in Tokyo to witness the wonder of Shibuya Crossing, a pedestrian crossing that stops traffic in all directions. The intersection is full of people in seconds! Another amazing trip!
