leasure walk takes about 1 hour.it's very beautiful,Kawela Bay is most secluded & picturesque beach. it's untouched gem of Oahu. On weekend, you may share the beach with 2 or 3 people, most of them are local.on weekdays it's all yours,Tourists don't know about it.
The best spot to swim is in the middle of the beach.no lifeguards, no facilities, please take your trash with you.Please save a natural beauty.Sunset is magical!!. Kawela Bay is a beautiful location on the North Shore of Oahu located right off the Kamehameha Highway just past Turtle Bay. The location to get to the bay is not marked very well but with this guide you can find the beach easily. The Anupua'a 'Opana 1 & 2 sign near the bus stop is the easy way to locate the entrance. There is a fire hydrant near the entrance so it is best to not park in front of it or the bus stop or you may get towed. There are no restrooms on this beach. Since there is a reef in front of the bay the waves typically are small and this is a great place to stand up paddle board.

We had a fun day at Kawela Bay playing with the kids, horseback riding, and climbing the famous banyan tree from the TV show Lost and The Pirates of the Caribbean.
The highlight of our trip was snorkeling with a gorgeous green sea turtle.

A Day On The Land at Kahuku Point
Volunteers from our Hawaiian Electric ohana spent a day on the land at Kahuku Point, helping to remove invasive plants and trees, pick-up marine debris and plant new native plants on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Thanks to the efforts of the Trust for Public Land and the U.S. Army, the land surrounding Turtle Bay Resort, including the Kahuku Point coastal sand dunes has been safeguarded from development. Kahuku Point is one of the few remaining intact coastal strands on Oahu, the point is home to Hawaiian monk seals, green sea turtles, and other endangered plants and animals, and is a popular destination for hiking and fishing.

Longish (2:50) video by a DJI Mavic Pro of Kahuku Beach (northernmost end of the windward coast of the island of O'ahu) with kioea (bristle-thighed curlews) flying by. Seeing the freeze frame at 1:08 and the slow-motion at 1:38. Elsewhere, note birds stopping the drone in mid-air as they activate the obstacle avoidance system, followed by a brief pause and the camera refocusing itself.
