Keifuku Railway Randen Kitano Line
Would you like to ride Kyoto's retro trolley?
The Keifuku train (Randen) is your best transport for visiting the western Kyoto area.
It is, in fact, the only streetcar left in Kyoto, the city that built Japan's first line, which began running in 1895 and grew into a broad network of electric trams that served passengers until 1971.
Diesel buses replaced nearly all of the streetcars, but the Keifuku train still runs every 15 minutes from the center of Kyoto to the western area without delays.
While riding the nostalgic Keifuku train to temples, shrines and other beautiful spots you can enjoy the calm scenery of daily life in Kyoto.

Description see down

Let's go from Kyoto to Osaka on Keihan Electric Railway. WONDER KYOTO
Osaka is a city to be able to go by a train from Kyoto in around 40 minutes.
You may watch a thing different from Kyoto if you go to Osaka.
There are some ways to Osaka. We will decide to go by Keihan Electric Railway.
This map is a station of the Keihan Electric Railway. Sanjo. Gion Shijo. Shichijo.
The station of these is along Kamogawa river.
There are Yasaka-jinja Shrine and Kiyomizu-dera Temple near a station.
This is the outskirts of -Shichijo Station.
When we go down to the basement through this gate, there is -Shichijo Station there.
We can buy the ticket of Keihan Electric Railway here.
This is a route map of Keihan Electric Railway.
I intend to go to Kyobashi. The rate to Kyobashi is written as 390 yen.
200 of the red letter written below shows that the rate of the child is 200 yen.
The child rate is applied to under 12 years old 6 years old or older.
A child younger than six years is free.
We buy a ticket with a vending machine.
We go along ticket gates after buying a ticket.
The station employee is not in ticket gates.
This is an automatic ticket gate.
We put a ticket in the automatic ticket gate in this way. Then the gate opens, and we can go along the gate. We must pick up a ticket.
When we go through the automatic ticket gate, there is a platform. Because there is it underground, it is slightly gloomy, but it is clean and is safe.
This is an electric signboard. Japanese and English are displayed in turn.
The train which I get on now is bound for Yodoyabashi of Limited Express of the 14:21 departure.
OK, a train comes.
You can go easily to Osaka if you get on this.
Would you like to go to Osaka on the reasonable train which a Japanese uses every day.
Then see you again. Good-bye.

Kyoto Train - Keifuku Kitano line
This is a really nice train line in Kyoto - there is a single set of tracks, the trains are tiny and the stations are close together.
It gives a very special feeling to ride this train!

Riding the 1992 - 94 Randen (Keifuku) Trams, Shijo-Omiya, Arashiyama-Kitano Hakubaicho, Kyoto, Japan
Filmed on 14.06.2019.
This is riding on the last remaining tram line, which has two branches, in Kyoto, Japan. It is known as the Randen or Keifuku Tram, and the tram cars are from 1992-94. I rode it to visit Arashiyama, from Shijo-Omiya (where the hotel I was staying in, the Ark Hotel Kyoto is next to it), then changed it to the Kitano Randen line towards Kitano-Hakubaicho to walk to the famous Golden Pavilion of Kyoto, Japan. Thanks to the trams, then walking, I didn't have to use the buses any time at all. I was also going to try to visit the Silver Pavilion, but it was closing just as I was approaching it. Overall, it was a very lovely experience!
