Smaller Crowds at Kenwood Towne Centre
SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (Adam Clements) -- Black Friday is here and shoppers are out in search of great deals. Is Black Friday as big a deal as it used to be, since more and more stores opened on Thanksgiving? Local 12's Adam Clements joins us live from Sycamore Township to give us a gauge on the Black Friday experience at the Kenwood Towne Centre.Things certainly picked up at the Kenwood Towne Centre. The parking lot practically full at noon. That certainly has not been the case early Friday morning, as it has been in years past.You can blame that on how early the deals started this year. Places like Target and Walmart opened Thursday night as early as 8 p.m. Kmart even went so far as to open their doors at 6 a.m. Thanksgiving morning.It's certainly caused a major shift in the dynamic of what we once knew as Black Friday. Much smaller crowds Friday morning at the various retail locations around the Tri-State. Many of them saw their big rush Thursday night.A lot of folks seem to be divided on how they feel about things starting so early. On one hand shopping on Thanksgiving takes away from family time, but on the other it allows for smaller crowds on Black Friday. Don't forget to save some of your spending for the little guys tomorrow. Small Business Saturday is an effort to get shoppers to stimulate the local economy. If the crowds are just too much for you, you can always try shopping online. Forbes predicts total internet sales will top $78 billion this holiday season.

LEGO Americana Roadshow at Kenwood Towne Centre
Giant replicas of the nation's most recognizable landmarks made from thousands of LEGO® bricks will be on display throughout Kenwood Towne Centre this summer!
The LEGO® Americana Tour is a highly visual, educational and free traveling installation of larger-than-life LEGO® models. Replicas of iconic buildings and architectural structures will be on exhibit at various locations throughout the shopping center. Kenwood Towne Centre is the only venue in Ohio to host The LEGO Americana Tour.
The one-of-a-kind, large scale models of American landmarks made completely out of LEGO® bricks by LEGO® Master Builders will entertain customers with stunning visuals and fun facts. Featured landmarks include: U.S. Capitol Building, White House, Supreme Court, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Statue of Liberty, Independence Hall and Old North Church.
Sports shop owner claims eviction by Kenwood mall is illegal
KENWOOD, Ohio (WKRC) - A sports memorabilia store owner is asking a federal judge to stop one of the largest malls in the area from evicting him.
Mark Stapleton opened up his Hats N’ More store at the Kenwood Towne Centre on February 1, 2018.
Stapleton said before he opened the doors of the mall, management told him a direct competitor was upset they were located so close to his store.
We want to be there. We want to be where the people are from our hometown and do business where we're from,” Stapleton said.
Stapleton received an eviction letter from General Growth Properties stating he had to move out by March 23.
Stapleton claims in court papers that Lids, which also sells hats in the mall, pressured General Growth Properties to terminate the lease.
Lids also owns Locker Room which had occupied the space Hats N’ More is located. When Locker Room moved out, Hats N’ More moved in. Now Locker Room plans to move back into the space and pay more rent.
“We believe that what Lids is trying to do and apparently what the mall is joining them in doing is an illegal unlawful conspiracy in combination to restrain competition,” said Donald Hordes, an attorney with Ritter & Randolph who is representing Stapleton.
Attorneys for Lids said in a response filed with the court “this case is not complicated or sensational.
They wrote that Kenwood Towne Center can terminate Hats N’ More’s license at-will for any reason, or no reason at all.
The attorneys claim Hats N' More now has buyer's remorse for the Licensing Agreement. Stapleton’s attorneys maintain what Lids and the mall are doing violates anti-trust laws.
He wants to continue that business for his children, his grandchildren and he wants to sell hats,” said Aryeh Younger, one of Stapleton’s attorneys.
“I don't think they like any competition. I don't think they want anyone selling anything like theirs,” Stapleton said.
Judge Susan Dlott will hear Stapleton’s request for a temporary restraining order Tuesday afternoon.

Holiday curfew for teens at Kenwood Towne Centre starts Dec. 26
During “Parental Guidance Required” hours, those under 18 will not be allowed to walk through Kenwood Towne Centre, its parking lots or exterior walkways without a guardian. One adult can accompany up to four young people, though there is no limit for the number of children under 10 that one adult can accompany, mall officials said Thursday. The adult must remain with them at all times.
