Moses Walo laid to Rest
The 35-year old man who was beaten to death by a group of men at Lae's top town two weeks ago was laid to rest this afternoon at Butibum cemetery in Lae.
Moses Peter also known as Moses Walo was killed after trying to stop a man from harassing two women at 8th Street.
Moses is a father of two and was employed with the Black Swan Security in Lae before his passing.

Bomana War Cemetery in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea
Port Moresby (Bomana) Cemetery is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery dating from World War II near Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. The cemetery contains the graves of those who died in the fighting in the former Territory of Papua and on Bougainville Island. The remains of 3,824 Commonwealth soldiers, 699 of them unidentified are buried in the cemetery; as well two others: a Dutch citizen and one burial not related to the war.
Over 600 Indian soldiers who fought in the Second World War are buried at the cemetery.
A turnoff near Fourteen Mile takes you to the large and carefully tended Bomana War Cemetery, where 4000 unknown PNG and Australian WWII soldiers are seeing out eternity, overlooked by a vast rain tree. American soldiers who died in PNG were generally shipped home for burial. The inscriptions on identical white gravestones read: 'A soldier of the 1939–1945 war. Known unto God.' It's a serene yet sobering place. PMV 16 from Gordons Market runs past the gate.

Australia’s Governor General Attends Anzac Day Dawn Service at Bomana War Cemetery
The ANZAC Day Dawn Service was held today at the Bomana War Cemetery outside Port Moresby.
Australia’s Governor General Sir Peter Cosgrove and Lady Cosgrove were joined by PNG’s Head of State, Bob Dadae and Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.
It’s the 75th anniversary of the New Guinea campaign, where the hostile nature of PNG’s terrains contributed a large part to the terrible infantry casualties.

Remembering the Fallen Comrades of WWII at the RPYC
The ANZAC Day was commemorated today at the Royal Papua Yacht Club with a host of activities to mark the 75th anniversary of the World War II campaign in Papua New Guinea.
.
Australian Opposition Leader Bill Shorten, present at the Ceremony, said 75th years on and it’s good to see Australia and Papua New Guineans stand shoulder to shoulder.
Silent Warriors: When Waer Threatened Australia
In Papua New Guinea and the Solomons there are many sunken WWII ships, Japanese and Allied, that are stark reminders of how close war came to Australia. Ben Cropp visits the location of these shipwrecks; his underwater HD camera glides over the deadly cargo they carried. The ammunition and guns that now litter their silent decks, provide new habitation for schools of tropical fish.
The jungle also shrouds the relics of war. You can stumble on a crashed plane with dense foliage hiding it from sight, or a gun emplacement covered in jungle growth. Sixty years of time stands still, each relic a memorial, a museum housed in a jungle, a hidden reminder of the threat on Australias doorstep.

Remains of US Servicemen Repatriated
Three caskets of the remains, mainly uncovered in East Sepik province, were airlifted from Wewak by US C17 military aircraft that arrived this morning in Port Moresby.
These were then offloaded to another US Aircraft C130 to be transported to Hawaii this afternoon.
