Manchester Arena is an indoor arena in Manchester, England, immediately north of the city centre and partly above Manchester Victoria station in air rights space. The arena has the highest seating capacity of any indoor venue in the United Kingdom, and second largest in the European Union with a capacity of 21,000 and is one of the world's busiest indoor arenas, hosting music and sporting events such as boxing and swimming.
Manchester Arena was one of the first indoor venues in Europe to be built following layout of 360-degree seating, and is the only arena in the UK to have this feature (London's The O2 also has 360-degree seating, but only on its lower tier, whereas Manchester's arena features it on both tiers). Other European indoor venues built to the same concept include the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Arena Zagreb in Zagreb, Spaladium Arena in Split, Kombank Arena in Belgrade, O2 Arena in Prague, and Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg.
The arena adjoins Manchester Victoria station which is served by Northern, TransPennine Express, and Metrolink. The arena car park is operated by National Car Parks, and has 958 standard and 65 disabled spaces.
The arena has been the home of three sports teams: the Manchester Storm and Manchester Phoenix ice hockey teams, and the Manchester Giants basketball team with limited success, as it is no longer used by sports teams but is used for one-off sporting events such as boxing and football masters.

Manchester Arena Bombing (U.K)
On 22 May 2017, a suicide bombing occurred at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England, following a concert by American singer Ariana Grande. The attacker was Salman Ramadan Abedi, a 22-year-old British Muslim, who detonated a shrapnel-laden homemade bomb at the exit of the arena after the show. Twenty-three adults and children were killed, including Abedi, and 119 were injured, 23 critically.
Abedi was initially suspected of working within a terrorist network, and various people were arrested in connection with the incident. Police later said they believed he had acted largely alone.
The reactions to the Manchester Arena bombing include the responses by political and religious leaders, media and the general public, both within the United Kingdom, where the Manchester Arena bombing took place, and from other nations and international organizations. Numerous notable establishments around the world also held memorials.
In the United Kingdom, Prime Minister Theresa May chaired an emergency meeting of the COBRA committee in the hours following the 22 May 2017 bombing, and the UK's threat level was raised from severe to critical for a number of days, the first time it had stood at critical since 2007. May also condemned the attack, along with Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham and other leading politicians and public figures. Religious groups, including the Muslim Council of Britain, also voiced their condemnation. Internationally the attack was universally condemned by world leaders. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant issued a statement in support of the act.

This Is just before and just after it happened, i missed about 6 minutes of filming were the explosion happened, and every body ran down from the right hand stairs at the back. people just started climbing left and right over the seats to get away. I was in shock and for some reason a Bomb exploding didn't cross my mind at first, I thought the stairs had fallen through, it wasn't until everybody started screaming and running that I thought it could have been something so serious as it turned out to be. You can see in the footage a woman being treated by a paramedic at the top of the stairs after everyone had left them, I assumed this was from people panakin and shoving that she had been hurt. You couldn't actually leave the area for a while because everyone was coming down to use the same exits. when we finally got out on to the street there was so many people crying, a few people covered in blood. There was quite a few people on there own in this crowd full of people, me being one of them. I had gone to manchester with my boyfriend but attended the concert on my own. The phone signal was poor and we were surrounded by ambulances and police cars with flashing lights. I made my way down the street keeping the arena on my left and finally found my boyfriend who had been waiting for me to come out on the other side, where the explosion happened, i was so thankful to see him. We were the lucky ones, as we made it back to the car we passed so many people being treated by paramedics on the side of the road, all the staff were now out of the building and what looked like some of Ariana's dancers were even stood with the crowd outside. Trying to drive out of the centre took so long as every where was closed off and bomb disposal units passed us. We listened to the radio on the way home, to hear other people's versions of what happened from other sides of the arena. But it wasn't till a few hours after getting back to leeds, we found out 19 people had died, all I could do was cry, we were the lucky ones who actually got to make it home were as so many didn't. This concert had so many children attending, it is heart breaking to think that someone would try take away their lives. I am so sorry for those who witnessed, first hand the bomb exploding in there face to be covered in other peoples blood. The show had gone so perfect up until leaving the arena ..... my heart goes out to all the people who were affected last night
