Last weekend I was in Kodaikanal. I took a small trip to Mannavanur lake which is almost 40 kms from the city. The place looks heavenly and is very beautiful. Here is a summary of my trip through my camera lens. Hope you all enjoy it :)
The gears that I used for the shoot are :

Kodaikanal is a hill town in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It’s set in an area of granite cliffs, forested valleys, lakes, waterfalls, and grassy hills. At 2,000 meters above sea level, the town centers around man-made, star-shaped Kodaikanal Lake, bordered by evergreen forest. Rowing boats can be hired, and hikers and cyclists follow the 5k Lake Road path around the shore.

Mannavanur Lake kodaikanal ( மன்னவனூர் சுற்றுலா ) is located in mannavanur Kodaikanal. You can reach this place by bike or car. Buses also available from kodaikanal bus stand and also from periyakulam theni.
During your travel to mannavanur lake ( மன்னவனூர் சுற்றுலா ) you need to travel in highly dense forest. You can feel the thrillness if travel via car or bike.
On the way to mannavanur lake you can see the mannavanur lake view point, Poombarai village view, Greeny forest, Different type of flowers, trees and if you are lucky you can also see the animal in the forest.

Mannavanur - A video tour of Mannavanur
Mannavanur (Mannavanor, Mannavannur), is a farming village in Mannavanur Panchayat 35 kilometres from Kodaikanal . Mannavanur is about an hour’s drive from Kodaikanal. Mannavanur is otherwise known as Bison Valley
The main attraction in Mannavanur is the Mannavanur Lake.The best way to discover Mannavanur is by walking around the lake. It is said Mannavanur's landscape takes on different colours during different seasons. It turns brown during summers and a blinding green after the rains. During spring, colourful blooms run riot on the hills.
Primarily an agrarian hamlet, most of the inhabitants are farmers growing potatoes, broccoli, carrots, French and butter beans, peas, cauliflowers and cabbage. The ‘malai poond' grown here is famous and finds takers across the State and beyond.
Getting there
Mannavanur is 35 km south-west of Kodai town. It is 135 km from Madurai, 520 km from Chennai. The best time to visit is between March and August, before the rains begin.
Where to stay
The Camper's Club run by The Nature Trust is the only accommodation available. Four cottages with attached baths are set to open next month end. For prior booking and details, contact 94444 77358 or 94456 73959.
What to do
The rich biodiversity of Mannavannur lends itself to trekking, camping and star gazing. The Nature Trust organises educational tours and treks (there are 21 routes). For going into the forest, permission should be sought from the District Forest Office, Kodaikanal.

1- Kodai Lake: Kodaikanal Lake is a manmade lake in the Kodaikanal city which is also known as Kodai Lake. The lake is at a distance of 3 km from the Kodai Bus stand
2: Coaker walk: One of the popular tourist spots in Kodaikanal, Coaker’s Walk is just half kilometre away from the Kodaikanal Lake.
La Saleth Church: La Saleth Church is sited up on a cliff edge outside of town. In order to reach there, you have to ascend a steep staircase which guides you to the door of this beautiful shrine.
Upper Lake view: Situated 3.2 km away from the Coakers Walk, Upper Lake View is a famous tourist attraction in Kodaikanal and one which is worth visiting on the way to Green valley viewpoint.
Dolphin Nose: Situated at a distance of 8 km from the main city of Kodaikanal, the Dolphin's Nose provides a bird's eye view of the scenic landscape of the surrounding mountainous area.

Golf Club: Kodaikanal Golf Club is a private membership club with an 18-hole, par 71 Golf course. It is located about 6 kilometres (4 mi) southwest from the center of Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, South India at an elevation of 2,220 metres (7,280 ft).
Pillar Rocks: Located 8 Kms away from the lake, Pillar rocks constitutes of three granite boulders and each of a height of 400 feet standing shoulder to shoulder. It also makes for an interesting picnic spot. The chamber between the two pillars is called Devil's kitchen.

Day 2:
1:Silent valley: Silent Valley View is located in close proximity to the Pillar rock garden in Kodaikanal. The point is famous for proffering some astounding and stunning views of the Silent Valley. The Silent Valley view is another important and attractive place that should not be missed by any nature enthusiast. It is situated at a little distance from the Pillar Rock and is seen on the Berijam lake road and the breathtaking view of this valley will be soothing to the eyes.The panoramic view of this place will make the tourists to spend a lot of time watching the scenic beauty. Children visiting this place has to be taken care by their parents as the valley is very deep and will at its very best when viewed between early mornings and late afternoons.
2 Berijam lake view point: It gives an amazing view of Berijam lake from the top, if there are no clouds on the day you visit this place. Its a place very near to silent valley. A View of the most beautiful lake in South India.
3: Berijam lake: Berijam Lake is protected by Forest laws and the immensely beautiful forest. Tourists need special permission from the forest office in Kodaikanal to go there. It is better to be an early bird to get the permission, as the forest office closes by 11:30 am. Tourists are allowed to stay in Berijam till the evening. This viewpoint is 19 KMs from Kodaikkanal Lake.
4: Medicine Forest view point: This Medicine Forest has a certain species of trees whose fragrance is believed to have hallucinogenic effects
5: Caps Fly valley: A steep valley in between two mountains and the air current here lifts the objects thrown in the valley. Objects thrown here come back like the boomerang or the frisbee due to the air currents. It is fun to watch.

भारत के तमिल नाडु राज्य में बसा एक शहर है। समुद्र तल से 2133 मीटर ऊंचा तमिलनाडु का कोडईकनाल हिल रिजॉर्ट अपनी सुन्दरता और शान्त वातावरण से सबको सम्मोहित कर देता है। पाली हिल के बीच बसा यह जगह दक्षिण भारत का प्रमुख हिल स्टेशन है।
यहां घूमने का मजा कुरिन्जी के खिलने के समय दोगुना हो जाता है। हालांकि यह फूल बारह साल में एक बार खिलता है। यहां के लोग कुरिन्जी के फूल को अपनी शान समझते है। जब यह खिलता है तो पहाड़ियों की सुंदरता देखते ही बनती है। और इसकी महक मदहोश कर देने वाली होती है। कोडईकनाल में प्रकृति की सुंदरता अपने तमाम रूपों में नजर आती है। विशाल चट्टान, शांत झील, फलों के बगीचे और यहां के हरे भरे दृश्य अपनी सुदंरता की कहानी कहते है। साथ ही यूकेलिप्टस और पाइन के जंगलों से आती स्वच्छ हवा यहां के वातावरण को सुगंधित और गुलजार बना देती हैं।
कोडईकनाल का उल्लेख ईसा पूर्व के तमिल संगम साहित्य में मिलता है। पलानी हिल्स के आसपास के क्षेत्र में उस समय पेलियन्स और पुलयन्स नामक आदिम जनजाति निवास करती थी। 1845 ई. में अंग्रेजों ने यहां हिल स्टेशन स्थापित किया। ब्रिटिश प्रशासकों और मिशनरियों का यह पसंदीदा हिल स्टेशन था। वे गर्मियों में यहां अपना समय व्यतीत करते थे....
