Slippery Rock Univeristy - Barbara Westman - Connect to Success
Barbara Westman is an associate professor of art at Slippery Rock University. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in fiber art and printmaking from the University of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland. As a student, Westman spent two years in London, attending South Thames College and gaining experience at an interior design company. Westman’s artworks reflect an interest in the natural and man-made worlds where the richness of textures, structures and forms in the environment are constant inspiration. Her art is featured in private and museum collections in the U.S., England, Germany, Italy, Egypt, Bulgaria, Portugal, Spain, Poland and France. With her students, Westman stresses active participation in exhibitions, community projects, conferences and educational travel. In 2013 she initiated an annual collaborative fiber art project with Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland. Her art can be viewed at barbarawestman.com

Hungarian costumes from a region with migrant workers
Bende Pigniczky and his father Endre Szentkiralyi and Krisztina Tabor from the Hungarian Scout Folk Ensemble in Cleveland describe the traditional Hungarian costumes they are wearing at the annual Paprika! event put on by The Cleveland Hungarian Development Panel. The costumes come from a region of Hungary with migrant workers who put their money into costumes, not land or animals. The costumes are region specific.
