Michigan's Adventure Full Tour - Muskegon, Michigan
Michigan's Adventure is a 250-acre (1.0 km2) amusement park in Muskegon County, Michigan, about halfway between Muskegon and Whitehall. It is the largest amusement park in the state and has been owned and operated by Cedar Fair since 2001. As of 2018, Michigan's Adventure has 53 rides, more than any other park in the state.
The park also includes an outdoor water park, WildWater Adventure. The park is headlined by seven roller coasters, including Shivering Timbers, a wooden coaster, and a suspended looping coaster, Thunderhawk. The typical operating season is from May through September.

Roller coasters:
Big Dipper
A family oriented steel sit-down roller coaster. It is a Chance Big Dipper model. The ride stands about 16 feet tall. Riders must be 36 inches to ride. Riders under 42 inches must be accompanied by a responsible person.
Corkscrew
A steel sit-down roller coaster. It tops out at a height of 70 feet, reaches a top speed of 45 mph and has two corkscrew inversions. The Corkscrew was added by Roger Jourden to help turn his small deer park petting zoo into a full-fledged amusement park, and it was the first roller coaster built at the park. Riders must be 48 inches or taller to ride. It is one of the oldest original Arrow coasters still in existence. Arrow Dynamics has built several Corkscrew coasters and some, such as the Corkscrew at Cedar Point, or the Corkscrew.
Mad Mouse
A steel sit-down roller coaster. The coaster consists of sharp turns and sudden drops, characteristic of any wild mouse style roller coaster. The ride stands 68 feet tall. Riders must be 44 inches to ride. Riders under 48 inches must be accompanied by a responsible person.
Shivering Timbers
A wooden roller coaster developed by Custom Coasters International with trains by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters. It towers 125 feet (38 m) in the air (a 122-foot (37 m) drop), reaches a top speed around 65 miles per hour (105 km/h) and the first drop is at a 55.5° angle. Riders must be 48 inches tall.
Thunderhawk
A steel inverted roller coaster. It was the first Suspended Looping Coaster in the state. This ride is 105 feet tall, has a drop of 86 feet, and sends riders upside down 5 times at a speed of 50 miles per hour. Riders must be between 52 inches & 78 inches to ride Thunderhawk. The coaster previously operated at Geauga Lake prior to it closing. During the 2007–2008 off-season, it was relocated to Michigan's Adventure, reassembled and repainted.
Wolverine Wildcat
A wooden roller coaster. The ride opens up with a pass through a dark tunnel and a turn before climbing the lift hill. It is 85 feet high and reaches a top speed close to 55 mph. Wolverine Wildcat was the original wooden coaster built at the park. When Wolverine Wildcat opened, the name of the park was changed to Michigan's Adventure. The layout was inspired by the Phoenix at Knoebels Amusement Resort. Riders must be 48 inches tall to ride.
Zach's Zoomer
A family oriented wooden roller coaster. It was named after the owner's grandson, Zach Mark. Zach's Zoomer is an ACE Coaster Classic. The trains for Zach's Zoomer were designed by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters Inc. Riders must be 42 inches tall to ride. Riders under 42 inches must be accompanied by a responsible person.

After the addition of the WildWater Adventure, the slogan for the park became 2 parks for the price of 1 since the regular gate admission allows full day usage of both the amusement and the water park, rather than a separate fee for both.

AMUSEMENT PARK FAILS:/// Michigan Adventure, Muskegon, Michigan [Family Travel Vlog]
This week we went to Michigan’s Adventure in Muskegon, Michigan.
To make something positive out of many, many fails, mostly on our part, we have decided to view our time at Michigan Adventure as a learning experience and allow you to learn from our mistakes.
Tip #1: Buy your ticket the day you plan to visit the park
We bought our tickets ahead of time and there was an up-charge. We bought the tickets in advance and wanted to go for Jonah’s birthday. It rained that day and they don’t offer rainy day refunds, so we decided to use them at a later date. Although we were going when it was way less crowded, and may I mention the weather was not as nice as peak season, we had to pay an extra $7 per ticket, on top of what we had already spent. Not cool BUT we were determined to have fun!
The second we walk into the park, the boys were super hungry and hot, so we went to the first restaurant we saw. It was really crowded and the boys were not digging it so, we ate as fast as possible so we could move on.
Tip #2 number 2: Don’t settle for the first restaurant when you walk in
Everyone else has the same idea.
After our extremely abbreviated lunch, we booked it to the water park.
Tip #3- bring towels!
for some reason I assumed - which, I should have never done, that they would provide towels. Not the case.
It was hot and we thought it would be fine to air dry and if worse came to worse we would buy a towel from the gift shop.
We had so much fun at the waterpark...for an hour. Then the lifeguard requested everyone get out of the pool- we thought this was routine, Chris and I were lifeguards and we know how important it is to clear the pool and check to make sure everyone is safe. BUT we found out that during the second week of August, they close two hours early, and surprise! The entire park closes at seven, not nine like we had anticipated. So- here is the kicker we paid more, to spend less time at Michigan Adventure.
So tip number 4 - go early!
It’s entirely our fault for not checking online, but regardless of the time of year, going early would probably be a good idea!
After realizing we only had two hours to explore the rest of the park, we kept our suits on and booked it for the rides.
Tip #5 - Don't assume your kids are too short for the rides, check it out.
Jude went on a few rides because he is a super tall 1-year-old and Jonah was just tall enough to go on his first “big kid ride” and it was so much fun!
Explorers, thank you so much for watching! We had a great time, but I bet you will have an even better time if you take some notes from our mistakes,
*Full disclosure all of our misfortunes were a direct result of our lack of planning.
The takeaway: Make the most out of every adventure. Chris was a little upset on the way home and I kept talking to him about how lucky we are that we have the time and resources to do cool things with the boys.

Shivering Timbers (HD Front Seat POV) - Michigan's Adventure
Shivering Timbers is a large wooden roller coaster by Custom Coasters International operating at Michigan's Adventure Theme Park in USA. Opened in 1998, this 122ft tall airtime-filled woodie is one of the longest of its type, and reaches speeds of 57mph. Video features HD front seat POV filmed with Pivothead sunglasses (cameras are not permitted on the rides) in August 2017.
