Around June every year in Katsushika, a downtown part of Tokyo near Skytree, you can fully enjoy beautiful iris flowers and a Japanese matsuri at the Katsushika Iris Festival.
This video is a summary of the wonder of Katsushika Iris Festival!

On Saturdays and Sundays throughout the festival period, you can enjoy Japanese festivals at the venues of Horikiri Shobuen Iris Garden and Mizumoto Park, including performances such as koto and taiko drumming, and a place to experience Japanese tea.
Also, at Horikiri Shobuen Iris Garden, for a limited time, you can enjoy irises in a different way, with night time illuminations.
Explore a little beyond Skytree, and have fun at a local Japanese festival!

From the JR / Keisei Kanamachi Station, catch the Keisei Bus from the south exit (the Kana 61 bound for Tagasaki Soushajo / Yashio Station South Exit), or from the north exit (the Kana 62 bound for Nishi-Mizumoto Sanchome / Obagawa Suimon). A five minute walk after alighting at Mizumoto Koen.
On Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, you can catch the Mizumoto Park Loop Bus (Kana 63) and alight at Hanashobuen for a one minute walk to the park.

Tokyo Katsushika Mizumoto Park autumn leaves

Mizumoto Park is a park in Katsushika ward, Tokyo, located at a convenient place about 25 minutes by train from Asakusa.
It is one of the famous spots in Tokyo where you can enjoy the autumn leaves.

The park is one of the largest parks in Tokyo with riverside scenery which is rare to find in Tokyo. There are 1,500 metasequoia trees planted in the park. People commonly imagine Japanese autumn leaves to be Japanese gingko trees but metasequoia trees at about 10m tall offers the sight of slim and tall trees with bright red leaves in autumn. They are definitely “red leaves to look up to.” Depending on the angle of lights, the appearance of turned leaves change completely and you can enjoy the sight of beautiful autumn leaves.

Tokyo is a big city but with a little expedition, there are numerous places where you can experience vast beauty of nature.
When you visit Tokyo in autumn, we recommend going on a trip to Mizumoto park and have a journey through the park to fully enjoy the vast beauty of autumn leaves.

Drive along the Edogawa 　Shibamata, Katsushika-ku～Yoshikawa Park～Mizumoto Park, Katsushika-ku

Follow the road along the Edo River.
It is a road that makes you feel like you have gone somewhere far away with little traffic and beautiful scenery.

Moreover, the ferryboat Yagirino-Watashi ship which connects Matsudo-shi, Chiba to the neighborhood of the Shibamata park as Shibamata which faced across Edogawa is uniquely existing in a metropolitan area.

hight, 3.60 micro Sievert per hour at ground level, on roadside mud.
