L3 Perfect Day to Visit Mong Ha Park Pt2 澳門
This part was filmed with my Samsung Galaxy.
Part 2 of yesterday's visit to the beautiful and glorious Mong Ha Park.
As I said before, I appreciate this park as one of Macau's hidden treasures. It is a great place to get away if you want to find seclusion from the noise and stress of the city.
Next, we look at the trees and how they play an important role in holding the rocks and boulders in place. The roots of these are especially designed to spread out and find places to dig into(anchor in) the cracks and soil. This has the happy result of holding and securing the boulders that it grows over and around. As the roots find a hold and become established they grow larger and provide a strong support structure. This helps to prevent erosion from heavy rainfall.
You can see the small red or orange colored roots, and the new white root tips that have started to grow or regrow from the recent rain. These new growth roots look for a place to anchor and find soil.
Finally, I look at a tree that has grown at an angle to reach the sunlight from underneath the forest canopy. The same 'feeler' roots that we looked at earlier have grown down and formed additional 'trunks' that form 'legs.' These 'table legs' provide the tree the support it needs to grow a main trunk at a strong angle. This example shows how cleaverly the tree was designed. This design makes it especially suited for a rocky hillside.
