Monteverde Cloud Forest Costa Rica (2019) | Must see Costa Rica
One of the things Costa Rica is famous for is it's cloud forests and we couldn't visit Monteverde without spending a day exploring the cloud forest in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve.
Despite being budget travellers sometime we just have to splash out and this is one of those times. A short bus ride from our hostel in Santa Elena we arrived at the cloud forest reserve. We spent the day hiking though the forest and we were not disappointed, great views of the cloud forest, wonderful nature with awesome birds and animals.
The Monteverde cloud forest is definitely one of our must see sites in Costa Rica.

Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve Costa Rica
July 2019 Nancy and I spent the day at national park. We hiked about 3 miles and climed an equal elevaion of 24 floors. Got to see the amazing natural beauty. At about 5000 feet above sea level the rain forest is blanketed in clouds most days providing moisture for the plants. We spotted the two toed sloth and pack of coati's with no fear of humans. Not many birds on this day.

Birding the Costa Rican Cloud Forests of Monteverde
#birding #quetzal #costarica
Birding in the Tropics! The Mesoamerican Cloud Forest is a unique place, home to many endemic and emblematic species. For birders it is a paradise, however it can be a challenge to find and see birds in the tangled rainforest and dark undergrowth. So I am making this video to maybe give some pointers and to just go out and see what we can locate in a patch of Cloud forest in the Monteverde Area. Also divulge some of what I learned about finding a quetzal in the Monteverde Area. Sorry about some of the audio.

Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve 360 Video
Monteverde Cloud Forests are one of the most amazing places in Costa Rica. The tropical cloud forests are a very vulnerable ecosystem and sadly, may not be here much longer due to climate change. There are three large private reserves in Costa Rica (the biggest ones in the country) that protect these precious cloud forests. This is a video of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve that has several hiking trails, great views of both Pacific and Caribbean and a hanging bridge.

Visiting Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, Costa Rica
A very popular reserve area in Costa Rica. The Monteverde Reserve is located up in the mountains and an amazing place to spend a day hiking among the trees, seeing many unique birds and taking in the natural wonder of Costa Rica. Easily accessible by a shuttle bus from Santa Elena town for a few dollars. Entrance fee is $20 USD
Orchids in Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve
Monteverde is a Tropical Cloud Forest in Costa Rica at 1500 meters. The continental divide meets there and it has one of the largest diversities of flora and fauna in the world. My video blog only looks at the orchids that I found there.
Zip Line at Sky Trek - Monteverde Cloud Forest in Costa Rica [2014]
Ziplining on all of the Sky Trek Zip Line cables in the Monteverde Cloud Forest in Costa Rica.
There are two different Sky Adventure Locations: Monteverde and La Fortuna. This video was taken at the Monteverde location which is located inside the Monteverde Cloud Forest. IMHO, I like the Arenal location better since it has longer and faster zip lines. If you zip line at one course, you get a percentage off for ziplining at their other location.
Watch in HD!
Filmed with Go Pro HERO4 Silver. Edited in Adobe Premiere.
Costa Rica Herping + Birding Part 3 - Monteverde Cloud Forest
In our final installment we visit the Monteverde cloud forest in northwestern Costa Rica. While we hoped to see both birds and herps, it was pretty slow herp-wise, but we still had a very awesome time.

COSTA RICA MONTEVERDE CLOUD FOREST RESERVE COFFEE FARM
COFFEE Costa Rican coffee is generally regarded as one of the world’s best and in Monteverde’s micro climate this crop flourishes. Highly recommended is the visit to the Don Juan Farm, where I was both thoroughly educated in how coffee is grown and processed whilst being highly entertained by Junior Ramirez Vindas.
