Blood Mountain (1949 AT-6 Plane Crash Site) Newbury, NH
Today’s adventure took us the site of an AT-6 plane crash on Blood Mountain in Newbury, NH, that happened in 1949. We used logging roads and bushwhacks to get up to the site. We went and bagged the summit while we were there too, even though it is viewless. The pilot missed clearing the summit by about 300 feet and died. John Moses was only 18 years old when he hit the side of the mountain. There is a lot or twisted metal and other remains still on the mountain.
This video was filmed using the Canon HF G30 and edited using Adobe CS6.

Hiking New Hampshire / Mass | The Wapack Trail | 21+ Miles of F.U.N.
I took a break from my regularly scheduled adventures in the White Mountains so that we could take on the entirety of the Wapack Trail this past weekend.
It is a 21ish mile trail that runs from Southern New Hampshire into Northern Massachusetts.
I was fairly unfamiliar (and to be honest still kind of am) with the trail but it goes over about 6 or so mountains along the way and has some really nice viewing spots.
We started Saturday at the Northern Terminus and proceeded through the trail (making one detour down the Cliff Trail which held excellent views) a total of 16.38 miles (according to my tracker)
We stayed the night at the Windblown Cross Country Ski Resort at the Mountain Top Shelter on top of Mt Barrett. A very nice shelter that you must reserve ahead of time. They even supplied us with firewood!
We came down about 6.5 miles (according to tracker) the next day to a car we had at the Southern Terminus. We skipped the last mountain at the end (Mt Watatic) due to the rain. I enjoy the views and didn't want limited to no view up there. I will probably go back up at another point and check it out.

Mountain Biking North Conway, NH
A few shots from Stick and Stones. Took the morning to practice shooting Alex Leich on some of the local features in town. The plan is to put together a segment showcasing the many riding options in the Valley.
Mountain Biking the Belknap Range Trails | Lakes Region, New Hampshire
The Belknap Mountain Range is one of the most demanding and rewarding rides that I have been on to date. We covered around 13 miles and 3,000' of elevation while conquering steep climps, hike-a-bike trials, amazing views and epic DH trails along the way. This is a full day affair if you are willing to make the trek, but it is well worth it. I recommend having a guide or digging for a good trail map. Getting lost out here will certainly put you through an extra workout! Enjoy the ride!
Aerial Tour of the Massachusetts/New Hampshire Coast
Another exhilarating chapter in Adventures in Aviation with Captain Bornstein. The Captain heads north out of Beverly Airport and heads toward Hampton, NH. The flight continues south down the coast to view beaches at Hampton, Seabrook, Salisbury, Plum Island and Cranes Beach. The flight continues flying over Essex, Hamilton and Beverly. The Captain skillfully lands his trusty Archer II at Beverly Airport at the conclusion of the tour.

2. Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway Trail - Day Two
The second day of my April 2012 thru-hike of the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway Trail. I set out mid morning and trekked through the amazing landscape of western New Hampshire. Most of it was on ancient carriage roads, long since abandoned.

New Hampshire Lakes Region Video Tour
- One of the many benefits of living in Southern New Hampshire is the quick and easy access to our four season backyard playground, The Lakes Region.
Just a 90 minute drive from Nashua, it's truly one of the jewels of New Hampshire.
Early Native Americans called Lake Winnipesaukee The Smile of the Great Spirit. The name still seems appropriate today.
With 283 miles of shoreline, 273 lakes and ponds and 274 habitable islands, Winnipesaukee is the centerpiece of the Lakes Region. Recreational activities abound: boating, swimming, cruises, ice skating, ice fishing and snowmobiling - along with some truly spectacular scenery - make this a four-season vacation destination.
Winnipesaukee is surrounded by three mountain ranges: Ossipee, Belknap and Squam. Also visible is Sandwich Ridge and the Presidential Range, including Mount Washington.
With an exquisite combination of lake and mountain scenery, historic New England charm, a friendly atmosphere and unspoiled natural beauty, the towns in the Lakes Region have it all. Even the oldest summer resort town in America - Wolfeboro - is located on Winnipesaukee. When it comes to recreation, amenities and relaxation, there really is something for everyone.
Gazing over the bare landscape of winter, the blankets of snow covering the mountains, and ice fishing huts dotting the frozen lakes, and memories of summer in the distance, there is a special peace and calm that comes over the region. Yet, there are many wintertime activities after the lake has frozen over, such as ice fishing, ice sailing, cross country and downhill skiing, tubing, snowmobiling and even zip lining!
Each June for nine days the city hosts Laconia Motorcycle Week, internationally recognized as one of the oldest and largest bike rallies in the country. For nearly 100 years, this nine day event draws over a quarter million bikers from all over the world.... and maybe even other worlds to the Lakes Region every summer.
