Tabemono No Bi al Museo d'Arte Orientale Chiossone a Genova 2016

Villetta Di Negro is a public park in Genoa. It is located just away from the central square Corvetto, a few tens of meters from the Palace of Government, whose entrance is located on Via Roma. In front of the access to the park is a statue erected in honor of Giuseppe Mazzini, the Genoese and the great father of the Fatherland. Villetta Dinegro spread along a series of paths that climb along the side of a hill, from whose top you can admire the city center. Hosts inside the Museo d'Arte Orientale Edoardo Chiossone entitled to. The current park was built by the Marquis Gian Carlo Di Negro, who had purchased in 1802 the major bastion of the demilitarized Luccoli, pagandolo 22,000 pounds of Genoa and committing to build and subsidize for 6 years a school of botany (which, given the positive results , became the chair of botany at the University of Genoa). Here Di Negro also designed his villa and the park was decorated with busts and statues. The draft Carlo Barabino for Spianata dell'Acquasola (Genova) in 1821, produced by 1826, joined the mound of the house with the esplanade dell'Acquasola, by a large terrace with steps on the path of the old sixteenth-century walls, across the door dell'Acquasola with a large bridge (junction esplanade for the realization of the square Corvetto).
In 1863, after the death of the marquis took place in 1857 the town bought the park and the villa, several times making several changes. From 1873 to 1912 the building of the villa was the seat of the Museum of Natural History (1873-1912), with the adjacent zoo, and the Geological Museum, since 1929 the Museum of Archeology in 1935 and exposed to this material were added to five collections of Ethnography and Costume. In 1942, during the Second World War, the building is hit by naval bombardment of the Allies against the city and destroyed. In 1948 the municipality financed the reconstruction of the current form, which became the seat of the Museum Chiossone (was the first Italian museum built at the expense of a government after the war).

Edoardo
Edoardo Chiossone (1833 - 1898) was an Italian engraver and painter who worked as a foreign advisor to Meiji period Japan. His tomb is located in my neighboring cemetery in Tokyo. According to Wikipedia he stayed single his entire life. Now he is surrounded by all these flowers, birds and animals. One day I brought some flowers to him.

Genoa ( JEN-oh-ə; Italian: Genova [ˈdʒɛːnova] (listen); Ligurian: Zêna Ligurian pronunciation: [ˈzeːna]; English, historically, and Latin: Genua) is the capital of the Italian region of Liguria and the sixth-largest city in Italy. In 2015, 594,733 people lived within the city's administrative limits. As of the 2011 Italian census, the Province of Genoa, which in 2015 became the Metropolitan City of Genoa, counted 855,834 resident persons. Over 1.5 million people live in the wider metropolitan area stretching along the Italian Riviera.Located on the Gulf of Genoa in the Ligurian Sea, Genoa has historically been one of the most important ports on the Mediterranean: it is currently the busiest in Italy and in the Mediterranean Sea and twelfth-busiest in the European Union. Genoa has been nicknamed la Superba (the proud one) due to its glorious past and impressive landmarks. Part of the old town of Genoa was inscribed on the World Heritage List (UNESCO) in 2006 as Genoa: Le Strade Nuove and the system of the Palazzi dei Rolli. The city's rich cultural history in art, music and cuisine allowed it to become the 2004 European Capital of Culture. It is the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, Andrea Doria, Niccolò Paganini, Giuseppe Mazzini, Renzo Piano and Grimaldo Canella, founder of the House of Grimaldi, among others.
Genoa, which forms the southern corner of the Milan-Turin-Genoa industrial triangle of Northwest Italy, is one of the country's major economic centers. The city has hosted massive shipyards and steelworks since the 19th century, and its solid financial sector dates back to the Middle Ages. The Bank of Saint George, founded in 1407, is among the oldest in the world and has played an important role in the city's prosperity since the middle of the 15th century. Today a number of leading Italian companies are based in the city, including Fincantieri, Selex ES, Ansaldo Energia, Ansaldo STS, Edoardo Raffinerie Garrone, Piaggio Aerospace, Mediterranean Shipping Company and Costa Cruises.
