4K Botanical Garden Zürich SWITZERLAND チューリッヒ植物園
The Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich (Botanischer Garten der Universität Zürich) is a botanical garden in the Swiss city of Zurich. It was opened in 1977.
Today, around 8,000 plant species are grouped together in thematic biotopes - from the flora of the Mediterranean to the spring garden - in the extensive outdoor area of the park with arboretum, a central pond and in the dome greenhouses with different climatic zones and representative plant species.

The Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich
Don’t be confused – there is more than one botanical garden in Zurich. This film is of the one maintained by the University’s Department of Systematic Botany in Zollikerstrasse, in the Weinegg quarter of the city. (Whereas the Old Botanical Garden is in the city centre on the site of the former zur Katz bastion.) The garden in the video has 9,000 plant species from all over the world, and three futuristic-looking glass domed tropical houses. There is also a meadow and a pond. Its purpose is research and teaching, including educating the public, to which end entry is free of charge. The Botanical Garden is open 7 days a week from March to September, and the best time to visit is said to be in spring.
My film shows you some of the rockery gardens and tree-lined paths, before taking you inside the glass houses where the vegetation is tropical. One of the domes houses plants that grow in dry conditions, like cacti. Back outside, look out for a group of students in the distance wearing bee-keeping suits. The film ends with a view of the pond.

Zurich Travel Guide - Unforgettable Switzerland Dreams
Zurich (German: Zürich, Zürich German: Züri) is the largest city in Switzerland, with a population of some 390,000 in the city proper and 1.2 million in the agglomeration area. Zurich is on Lake Zurich, where the lake flows into the River Limmat , in the north of Switzerland. Zurich is the largest city of the Swiss Confederation (Switzerland) by land area and population. It is the financial center of Switzerland and houses the stock exchange and the headquarters of a large number of national and international companies, and also home of FIFA's headquarters.
You also find Google's world-wide second largest development center in Zurich. Because Zurich is the central node of the Swiss-wide train network and also runs the biggest and busiest international airport in the country, it generally is the first place where tourists arrive. Because of the city's close distance to tourist resorts in the Swiss Alps and its mountainous scenery, it is often referred to as the portal to the Alps.
Contrary to a generally wrongly made assumption, Zurich is not the capital of Switzerland -- the Swiss are very much a confederation of Cantons and avoid naming any one city as capital in order to prevent that Canton from seeming more important than the others. Still, the federal government is headquartered in Berne and not Zurich. Zurich has long been known for being clean and efficient. Due to this, it has been continuously ranked as the city with the highest living standard world-wide for many years. However, only for the last fifteen years it has truly become a fascinating and worthwhile travel destination. This is mostly thanks to the liberalization of the party (more than 80 clubs are open at weekends) and gastronomy sectors (over 500 bars and more than 1500 restaurants). An increasingly cosmopolitan population has helped (every third inhabitant is a foreigner), as well, though more button-down Geneva remains Switzerland's most culturally heterogeneous city. Zurich always used to be well known for a demanding audience in opera/ballet, classical concerts, and theater. You find more than 50 museums and over 100 galleries in a inner city circle.
Zürich is famous for its highly efficient, clean and safe public transport system, owned by the several municipal transport agencies and managed by the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV), which covers the entire canton of Zürich, plus some municipalities in bordering cantons for the passenger's convenience (in fact the 18x fare zones and some stops in zone 155). The network includes trams, buses (local city/municipality buses as well as the yellow bright Swiss PostAuto buses), suburban trains (S-Bahn), regular trains (SBB), cable cars and boats.
The quintessential Zürich dish is Zürigeschnätzlets, chopped veal in a cream and wine sauce, normally served with Rösti. Various kinds of grilled Würste (sausages, singular: Wurst) are also popular. These are most often accompanied by boiled potatoes, or Rösti, a kind of hash-browns, just much better (boiled potatoes then grated, then pan fried in butter until crisp) or Chnöpfli (small noodle dumplings, in Germany called Spätzle).
Zurich is the financial centre of Switzerland and most travellers come with an expense account. The hospitality sector focuses therefore mostly on the 4 and 5 star hotels. Zurich is known for its superb hotels, but these won't come cheap. Best is to go on a company rate, because rack rates are sometimes ridiculous.

33. Zurich Opera House
Zürich Opera House (German: Das Opernhaus Zürich) is a Zurich opera house, located near the Bellevue, and opened in 1891. The theater was built to replace the Aktientheater Theater (Old Theater) which succumbed to a fire . Its original name was Stadttheater. The architects were the renowned Viennese law firm Fellner & Helmer. Initially conceived for spoken and sung theater, after the opening of the Zürich Schauspielhaus, it was limited to the representation of opera, operettas and ballet.
30. Monastery of St. John (Müstair)
The monastery of San Juan is a former Benedictine abbey located in Müstair, Switzerland. It is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. Since 1983, it has been included in UNESCO's list of heritage sites due to the extraordinary cycle of frescoes from the Carolingian period (9th century) preserved in it. The abbey was founded around 780 by Bishop Chur. In 1167 it was transformed into a female convent. During the restorations that were carried out in the 20th century, Romanesque frescoes were found, dating to the year 1160.
29. Bellinzona
Bellinzona (in Italian Bellinzona, in French Bellence / Bellinzone, in German Bellenz / Bellinzona, in Latin Bilitio) is a Swiss city, capital of the Canton of Ticino and Bellinzona district.

The Botanical Garden of Zurich or in German: Botanische Garten Zürich is a Botanical Garden in Zurich, Switzerland. It belongs administratively to the University of Zurich.
27. Church of St. Peter of Zurich
The Church of St. Peter (German: Peterskirche) is one of the four main churches of ancient Zurich. The other three are the Grossmünster, the Fraumünster and the Predigerkirche. It is located next to Lindenhof, the old Roman fortress in the same space where a temple dedicated to Jupiter once stood. Archaeologists have found vestiges of a small church 10 by 7 meters from the eighth or ninth centuries. This first building was replaced around the year 1000 by an early Romanesque church. In 1230 this church was replaced by another one of late Romanesque style although parts of the first one still survive. The main nave was rebuilt in 1460 in Gothic style. The first mayor of Zurich, Rudolf Brunn, was buried here in the year 1360. Until 1911 the bell tower, one of the highest in Zurich, was used for fire monitoring.
25. Abbey of San Galo
The Abbey of St. Gall (in German Fürstabtei Sankt Gallen) was for many centuries one of the main abbeys of the Benedictine Order in Europe. It is located in the city of St. Gallen, in Switzerland. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.

ARCHITECTURE: Zurich Botanical Gardens
The new Botanical Gardens are situated in a small somewhat secluded valley not far from the lakeside. The main architectonical features are three plexi glass domes harboring different climatic conditions. There are not many visitors and it would be the ideal meeting place for foreign agents or (it's Zurich, after all) foreign tax evaders. The buildings were finished in 1976, the architects were Hans and Annemarie Hubacher, Peter Issler, Hansulrich Maurer, collaborator Hansrudolf Leemann.
