Places to see in ( Hamburg - Germany ) Park Planten un Blomen
In the heart of central Hamburg, Planten un Blomen park is linking inner city shopping streets with Hamburg convention and exhibition centres, Hamburg University and the bars and pubs of St. Pauli. In other words, it functions as the connector between the Outer Alster lake and the Elbe river. Covering 450,000 sqm of reclaimed medieval fortifications, the park lives up to its name. Planten un Blomen is Low German and translates to 'Plants and Flowers'. The park offers manicured flower beds, herb gardens and vast lawns. Idyllic ponds as well as themed gardens are a popular time-out spot for business people and university students alike. And with access to central Hamburg, the park is never far away. From West to East locals walk to the Neustadt quarter with its busy shopping streets and restaurants from either the University or the more alternative St. Pauli and Karolinenviertel quarters. From Landungsbrücken to the South Planten un Blomen is spanning to the Messehallen exhibition centre and Dammtor station in the North. And no matter where you enter the park from, there is always something to explore.
The Planten un Blomen park in central Hamburg is a wonderful destination for families, romantic couples and those seeking relaxation. There is a botanical garden with a tropical greenhouse and the largest Japanese garden in Europe. Whether riding a pony or a tea ceremony in the Japanese garden, everyday life is far away from here.
Anyone who wants to take a break during their stay in the Hanseatic city simply must visit the Planten un Blomen park in Hamburg. Where Danish cannonballs flew centuries ago, a gorgeous green recreation area now extends from St. Pauli to the Alster. The green ring around Hamburg dates back to the ramparts demolished at the beginning of the 19th century. At first there was a zoological garden here, and in the 1930s the park was gradually converted into a freely accessible public recreation area. The Low German name, which essentially just means plants and flowers, dates from this period.
The garden is more than just a traditional park with a lawn and barbecue area, although those are also available. In addition to the summer programme for young and old, the water light shows with music by the park's lake each day are a highlight. The half-hour light show with coloured fountains and regularly changing music programme takes place every night at 10.00pm from May to September. A cosy blanket and a bottle of wine are all you need for the right amount of romance.

Travel Germany - Visiting Herrenhausen Gardens in Hannover
Take a tour of Herrenhausen Gardens in Hannover, Germany -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
The four gardens which comprise the Herrenhausen Gardens are reputed to be the most exquisite gardens in Germany.
The gardens boast an assortment of styles including classic baroque and English.
The Great Garden is indeed immense, having once housed a castle which was destroyed by World War II, it now hosts festivals and firework competitions as well as classical music and theatre performances.
The Berggarten, originally a vegetable garden, became the site of experimental plant breeding, housed a conservatory, and is currently a botanical garden.
The Welfengarten is now occupied by the University of Hannover, which uses the castle on the grounds as its primary building.
These beloved gardens stand today as the centers of culture, music, education, and recreation for the citizens they have served for centuries.

Places to see in ( Hamburg - Germany ) Stadtpark
Hamburg Stadtpark is a 148 hectares large urban park in the Hamburg district of Winterhude, in the borough of Hamburg-Nord. Alongside Altona Volkspark, it is the largest park in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Germany. Where game was once hunted is now a lively destination in good weather: Young and old meet on the large Stadtpark lawn for football games, picnicking, sunbathing and kite flying. On the edge of the meadow is a giant playground with swings, a slide and lots of equipment. Water babies will especially enjoy the the shallow ponds.
Hamburg Stadtpark with its more than 150 hectares is a true multicultural location. On fine weekends, it often attracts more than 200,000 visitors who appreciate the host of leisure activities and come to play sports, barbecue, listen to music or just relax.
The recreation area is located in the Winterhude district and is Hamburg's green oasis, and remains a public park as its founders desired. In summer, the Stadtparksee is an open-air swimming pool - there are also paddle and rowing boats available in a separate area. If that's too strenuous, you can also navigate your model boat on the same pond. The planetarium in the former water tower is always worth a visit. It offers a unique journey through the universe as well as delightful children's documentaries and chill evenings on a regular basis.
The trees, bushes and river banks are home to a variety of native and non-native animal and plant species, and in the summer, the outdoor stage hosts interesting open-air concerts: from rock to folk, world-famous artists always enjoy coming to the park. There are also cafés and restaurants in and around the Stadtpark that entice guests with snacks and delicacies. TheSchumachersbeer garden, located right next to the Stadtparksee open-air pool is very popular for evening events. Other locations for relaxation include the Landhaus Walter beer garden, Café Sommerterrassen and Die Bucht.

EXPLORING HAMBURG, GERMANY'S most beautiful PORT CITY ????
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's walk around this beautiful German city, one of my most favorite places to be in whenever I am in Europe and especially whenever I am in Germany.
Hamburg, a major port city in northern Germany, is connected to the North Sea by the Elbe River. It's crossed by hundreds of canals, and also contains large areas of parkland. Near its core, Inner Alster lake is dotted with boats and surrounded by cafes. The city's central Jungfernstieg boulevard connects the Neustadt (new town) with the Altstadt (old town), home to landmarks like 18th-century St. Michael’s Church.
Germany is a Western European country with a landscape of forests, rivers, mountain ranges and North Sea beaches. It has over 2 millennia of history. Berlin, its capital, is home to art and nightlife scenes, the Brandenburg Gate and many sites relating to WWII. Munich is known for its Oktoberfest and beer halls, including the 16th-century Hofbräuhaus. Frankfurt, with its skyscrapers, houses the European Central Bank.

Speicherstadt (Hamburg warehouse district) and lunch. Whimsical Travelers Vlog 16
After the Miniatur Wunderland, we decided to wander around the Speicherstadt, grab some lunch (a hamburger in Hamburg!) and then walk to the Alster Lakes.
We also passed by Rathaus (city hall) and caught a cab back to our Airbnb. A fitting end to an amazing day!
