What is the Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) Program?
The AFF course is the unsurpassed method of training if you are interested in jumping with your own equipment and ultimately becoming a licensed skydiver. The AFF course is the most advanced skydiving training course offered and is endorsed by the United States Parachute Association (USPA).
On your first AFF Level, you will receive 4-6 hours of ground training, followed by the jump utilizing your own equipment and jumping with two USPA certified instructors. Under normal conditions, you will jump the same day as you complete the ground training.
The AFF Course/Program is structured in a two-phase training progression program. Phase I consists of eight jumps, where you will be jumping with an instructor on each level. Each one of the eight jumps is regarded to as learning categories (modules). Each category features a performance objective that must be accomplished prior to advancing to the next level. Completing Phase I qualifies you to make solo skydives under the supervision of an AFF qualified Instructor. At this point, you will be allowed to skydive on your own as you will now be on Student Solo Status.
What you can expect on your first jump
After reaching the desired altitude (12,500'a.g.l.), it is time to free-fall with your two instructors who will grasp your harness on each side. Upon exiting the aircraft, you will quickly accelerate to over 120 miles per hour for up to 60 seconds in free fall! You will then pull the deployment handle (ripcord) and enjoy a breath taking five minute flight under your own parachute. Yes, these parachutes truly fly and you get to steer your parachute during your decent. We will help you guide your parachute via radio communication and control commands for a safe landing. After the skydive, you will be critiqued and given a First Jump Certificate and a skydiving logbook. As you pass to the next learning level, your instructor will outline the next lesson plan and explain the new objectives.

Performed at Pacific Coast Skydive in Otay Mesa (San Diego, CA USA) on Dec 31, 2015
The plane took off from Otay mesa and flew over San Diego. The flight offered fantastic views of San Diego downtown, silver strand beach, coronado island, coronado bridge, USA-Mexico international border, Tijuana, and distant view of costal city of Rosarito in Mexico.
After approximately 15 minute of flight, took a tendam dive from 10,000 feet altitude. Then there was free fall for about 45 seconds at 120 MPH (192 kmph) , after which parachute opened at 5,000 feet. The parachute ride was about 6 minutes. Then we safely landed on the ground. It was indeed a mind blowing experience.
PJ's Skydiving in San Diego 2017
A weekend with my good friend Ly in San Diego, we had decided to do something crazy but worthwhile and exciting. Another wild idea that I can cross of my 101 things I want to do in my life. Thanks to my awesome friend Ly who went up with me and thanks to the wonderful team at Pacific Coast Skydiving that took care of us. Such an adrenaline rush of flying and letting gravity take you down to earth and all that will save you is a strong piece of nylon fabric.
Disclaimer: We had to wait of course for the Solar Eclipse to pass before we took off and jump out of the plane. It was recommended to wait until it passes, the skies cleared up and we were ready to go.
All video and music editing was done by Pacific Coast Skydiving.

First time Skydiving! A van life Skydive Coastal California Breakfast Detour with a side of Coffee
For my last official day in the Los Angeles area I spent the night in a great campground right on the beach at Point Mugu State Park, just north of Malibu. If you want beautiful beachside camping right off the pacific coast highway this is the place to be. Great price for the spot, too. Just north in Camarillo I found these guys at skydive Coastal California. They are awesome!!! I had a groupon for these guys for a while and since this was my last day in LA I booked my spot for the next morning breakfast. Coffee with a side of skydiving! It was insane! One of the coolest experiences EVER! If you have ever had even the slightest itch do do something like this you absolutely should! It was absolutely amazing!!! And if you’re in the LA area and you want to try it. These guys are so chill, fun, and professional. They take their shit serious and have a blast doing it. I would totally recommend it to everyone.

Yes, these parachutes truly fly and you get to steer your parachute during your descent. We will help you guide your parachute via radio communication and control commands for a safe landing. After the skydive, you will be critiqued and given a First Jump Certificate and a skydiving logbook. As you pass to the next learning level, your instructor will outline the next lesson plan and explain the new objectives.
